Google Nest to Lorex Transition
I had a system of Google Nest cameras around my house.... decided to change to Lorex because the Google is making such of mess of the transition from the Nest technology to the Google Home app... all my cameras were "Nest" cameras and when I wanted to add another, the new version was only compatible with the new "Google Home" app, which has less functionality than the Nest app it was replacing!
So I bought 6 of the new 4K dual lens wi-fi cameras from Lorex + 2 indoor cameras + a video recorder.
My first impression is the cameras are great. I like the quality of the picture and the install was easy. They are definitely an upgrade to the Nest cameras I was replacing. I also like that I can have a static viewer by connecting the video recorder directly into my TV via HDMI.... and it's really nice to "own" my footage on a local hard drive rather than paying a forever subscription to Google.
However my frustration comes with the apps. I have all apple devices and the only app that works is the one for the iPhone. On my iPad, it's viewer is only the tiny iPhone size experience, not full screen. Then on my Mac, it does not work at all because their it's not compatible with the new Apple M1/M2 chips... you must have a Windows PC.
Also, the iPhone app version frequently has 1 or 2 of my cameras that don't load into the multi-view even though I am still getting motion alerts from them? And I cannot find any setting to disable to automatic spotlights from triggering. And for the basic experience of scrolling through past footage to trying to find people in past clips, it's very clunky and just doesn't work as well as the Nest app I was used to before.
In summary, I think the cameras are great, and my service experience with them was great as well... they are happy to talk to you and try to help.... but they need a LOT of work on their software... a browser based app that can log into all my cameras on all devices that works as least as well as the legacy Nest experience (that Google is replacing) would make this the perfect system for anyone.

Slow response to emails
Their reply is obvious canned reply to customer complaints, not one word addressed my problems, the phone number supplies is in Bogota, Columbia.
Which would be dealing with the same power less team I already talked to. They made no effort to make up for their mistakes.
Don't seem to care what you think after your purchase.
Slow response to emails, Customer service is overseas
Shipment sent to CVS pickup, refused by CVS. Tried contacting Lorex to redirect Shipment and it took days to respond. New shipment from Canada, they refuse to Overnight my shipment. I will have a systems for several week before I can install it, because of missing parts.

The woman from tech support who helped me was great! She was able to help me reset my password and also walked me through how to set up the lorex cloud on my laptop. She was very knowledgeable and also had a very friendly attitude. I'm glad she's the one who helped me.

After many hours of trying to find a way to factory reset an older NVR setup, I finally called Lorex support for assistance. The tech support person was really helpful and managed to enable a temporary password so I could reset the system. I really thought the box was going to landfill but with the password reset process I was up and running again in 15 minutes. Outstanding.

We bought Lorex 2K Pan-Tilt Indoor Wi-Fi Security Camera
W462AQD-EG and this is the best camera without subscription, only one minus is sometimes where i try to see the live view i need to close application and open again then the live view is working, motion sensor is a little bit too slow but its working, night mode is perfect, amazing item just for £40 😍
Poor service
Poor service. Very poor service. Have ordered a camera with lights 3 weeks ago. Not received goods. No idea where it is. Sent many emails no reply. Rang up to cancel it man said money back in bank with in 12 hours still waiting that was3 days ago. Order one off Amazon came in 3 days. One unhappy customer.

Out of box frustration
Out of box frustration. Extender won’t connect to hub. Can’t get cameras on same floor as hub to provide live feed. Downstairs even worse. Delay in connection and feed is monumentally slow. Pan and tilt controls are impossible to manipulate with any precision. Sending this monstrosity back. Out of the box all the equipment appeared good, sturdy and first class packaging but I need a system that works without headaches. Back to looking for a system that delivers timely video. The app was no help.

I purchased 2 Lorex Video Doorbells in…
I purchased 2 Lorex Video Doorbells in October 2023. Both bells worked fine at the start. After about 2 weeks one of them lost video. i called tech center they made me trouble shoot, then asked me to change to a different transformer. I did and have the same result. Not to mention I had to wait on hold for an hour before some one came on the line. They have never offer to send me a New Unit.. All they want me to do it trouble shoot. Now they want each doorbell on it's own transformer. That really doesn't matter because I have one that works fine and the other doesn't work even when it's on the transformer by it's self. Lorex customer service is horrible. I still don't have a working doorbell!!!!!

Lorex customer service is always super helpful. They were able to help me resolve my issue quickly.
Poor Technical and Customer Service Support.
Could not understand the person I was talking to (poor English). They would not allow me to ask the question I had. Rather, they just kept reading the instructions on how to install, ignoring my plea to ask a question. The person I spoke with truly did not care to help resolve my issue.
The person I spoke with at Customer Service was no better. Again, difficult to understand what they were saying. Not once did they ask why I was returning the item. They did not try to save the sale. Not a care in the world from the people representing Lorex.

issue viewing my cameras on mobile phone
I had an issue viewing my cameras on my mobile phone and the agent helped me out and it didn't take hours. My matter was resolved within 15 minutes. She was friendly and patient (I don't know a lot about technical stuff).
