I ordered an item online on the 4th of November 2025. Followed up on the 15th of November which was the due date for delivery. On WhatsApp they told me to wait another 5 business days. Followed up again on the 31st of November. Item failed to ship and I will be refunded. Two weeks later still waiting for my refund

Ordered a Marco 24” suitcase that was meant to be delivered on 10 December 2025. The suitcase was not delivered then after several emails and tweets to inquire as regards the progress of the order, Makro unilaterally cancelled my order due to supplier issues yet the items are still advertised on the website. Makro is a scam! NEVER ORDER FROM MAKRO! They won’t deliver and who knows when you’ll get your money back?

The most useless delivery people ever.I will never ever buy a single thing from makro ever again!!!!!!!!!!!

I've bought an item online on the 29th of November, was supposed to be delivered on the 8th of December but nothing no communication whatsoever. Makro has lost a customer
in me.

Since my review below on 13/11/2015 I recently dscovered that Makro refunded me on 30/11 - I never picked it up on my credit card.
I must therefor appologise for hammering them on their slow refunding.
HOWEVER - my critisism regarding their poor quality control over online advertised products - of 3rd parties - remains.

I should have read the reviews first before ordering the aircon!! - same as so many other reviews!!
I saw a Makro advert for an aircon at a VERY good price (asuming an aircon can heat up & cool down) - in hindsight TOO good to be true. I ordered it & paid by credit card.
While waiting for delivery, I by chance saw a youtube video where someone complained about a similar aircon, which turned out to be only a heater.
I then phoned Makro, asking about the ad, the heater & the video refering to the same "aircon". The lady confirmed that Makro's adverts are reliable.
When delivered, no surprise, it was the fake video heater.
I immediately requested a refund.
When complaining about the above history, they told me that it is a "3rd-party advert - they have no control over the quality! (so much for the good name of Macro)
The "heater" was picked up within 2 days.
But the refund is still outstanding after a month of numerous calls.
In the meantime my credit card has been compromised & I now keep it "closed" & only "open" it when I need it - so I contacted Makro again & explain my problem. They only confirmed my money "is on its way" & they cannot make a refund any other way but to my (closed) credit card. Not even buying something else at their store, against a credit.
So, a good name has been ruined.

I checked just now - the ad is still on their website:

This department of Makro is pathetic!

Makro, this is honestly unacceptable.

I placed an online order specifically because the colour of the welding face shield I wanted wasn’t available in-store. What did I get? A completely different colour — with zero communication or confirmation from Makro.

To make things worse, customer service can’t assist, doesn’t seem to know anything, and the branch that fulfilled the order (Makro Riversands) won’t even pick up the phone. I’ve now wasted 25 minutes on hold, being transferred around, with no one actually answering.

I also sent an email and got no real feedback or assistance.

This is supposed to be a Christmas gift, and the entire experience has been nothing but disappointing.

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered a Christmas gift early December to be delivered in 5 days but when I followed up 10 days later they said the courier cancelled my order without notifying me😡

I ordered several items months ago. The order showed as "Packed" and "On route to customer" and then 3 weeks later, it changed to "Cancelled items." I have ordered a number of items from them and 10% actually reach me as I ordered.

I purchased a washing machine from Makro online on 25 November, and the delivery was scheduled for 1 December. I never received my order. When I contacted Makro, I was told the delivery vehicle had been hijacked.

Since then, I have been trying to get a refund, but today is 11 December and I still have not received my money back. Their communication is extremely poor — they don’t update you, they don’t answer your questions, and they don’t give a clear timeline on when you will be refunded. Each time you ask “When will I get my refund?” they have no straight answer.

If you are considering buying from Makro online, please think twice. The service is very bad, the communication is even worse, and getting help or answers is almost impossible. I am very disappointed with this experience.

Makro doesn't even deserve the one star. Not only are their staff incompetent there is zero service, staff are rude I'm not sure if they pick someone with zero education to work at their call centres but my 6 year old will do a better job. They don't respond to emails their call centre agents should not be answering phones nevermind trying to resolve queries.

Their online store is bad in terms of delivery . There is no communication, no follow ups and their promise to deliver is not backed up. You have to contact almost daily to check on overdue delivery.

Ordered an item. Wrong item came (and late). Then a nightmare to try and sort it out. Customer service never responded to calls or emails. I would never order from Makro again and I should have first read the reviews. It’s really bad.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent dishwasher purchase and delivery experience.
Order Issue Summary:

The dishwasher was delivered on 6 December in a severely compromised state. The packaging was wet, the polystyrene was broken, and upon inspection, the machine itself was damaged.
The unit arrived without its box, transported on an open bakkie with no protective covering, and handled unprofessionally by individuals who did not appear to be Makro staff.

Delivery Timeline & Concerns:

Tuesday: I received a call from Driver stating he could not deliver due to traffic fines preventing estate access. He promised delivery the next day, which did not happen.
4 December: Expected delivery date – no delivery occurred. After calling Makro Online, I was assured it would arrive later that day, but it did not.
5 December: I called again and was told someone would call me back, which never happened. Four hours later, I called again and was told, “We will give you a refund.” I made it clear I want the dishwasher I purchased, not a refund.
I was then given the new driver’s number. He also could not enter the estate due to fines and promised to call before arrival, which never happened.
6 December: After multiple calls (over 10 times), the dishwasher was finally delivered at 15:00 in the unacceptable condition described above.

Pathetic. Purchased a bottle of amarula as a gift for an elderly lady on the 28/11/2025 and still waiting for it to ship !!! Whats wrong witg you people ?? Are you waiting for it to ferment still or what ??

How is wish I had believed all the negative reviews, makro is the worse I ordered few items since the 27th of Nov delivery was confirmed for the 29th, im typing this on the 6th of December no calls, no message, no update whatsoever, thr call center lies about the delivery...never again, better stick to chechers60 they never disappoint, worse service ever

Very disappointed with Makro I ordered a week ago, driver came to deliver while I was at work tried calling to reschedule delivery but they said driver will call me before delivering fast forward driver calls me when he’s at the gate ok fine after that I called them 3 times trying to reschedule my delivery still nothing and no communication is made, poor service I totally don’t recommend Makro online shopping.

WHAT AN AWFUL SERVICE RECEIVED FROM MAKRO!!!!

I placed an order on the 29th November 2025 and realized the have the wrong delivery address, call them right away and was promised it would be corrected.

When I checked the order 2 days later it was still reflecting the wrong address and so I called them and another promise was made that this will be sorted out.

I called again a day before delivery to ensure the address was corrected and was promised it was, to my surprise the next day my order was delivered to the wrong address.

I called Makro once again as I had 2 more items awaiting delivery and wanted to ensure these go to the correct dress but I was hung up on and placed on a long hold with no assistance.

I have since emailed and called Makro multiple times and today they promised that the 2 remaining items will surely be delivered to the correct address and something said I should call the courier to confirm this and as I suspect the courier confirmed that the item will be sent to the wrong address today.

None of my emails, complaint and calls have been attended to and I have had to spend money to call them many times and to travel to where the items will be delivered.

I will never ever buy anything from Makro and I suggest no one does.

I purchased headphones on the 28th November. My order has been "ready to ship" since the 1st of December and I just got refunded my money out of nowhere.

I called today because I saw the money war a refund from Makro (4th Dec) and they tell me that its due to stock availability... I checked this morning and it still said ready to ship AND the app doesn't say out of stock...

I ordered a Club de nuit perfume got a shock when I saw that it’s a counterfeit product that you guys sent through.I will never order from Makro ever again.I want a refund come get your fake product

Order placed 23 Nov, delivery confirmed for 29 Nov — twice.
29 Nov came and went. No delivery. No updates. No apology.

WhatsApp support is useless.
Call centre lies about follow-ups.
Head office doesn’t answer at all.

They took my money instantly and delivered absolutely nothing.
Zero customer service. Zero accountability.
