The item I bought was dreadful quality. I tried to leave a review but now you can only leave a review when you’re invited by Marks and Spencer to do so in an email. This is appalling, only positive re... Ver mais

No basic care and cheap looking clothes
Bought 2 Jaeger items online. They arrived just loose and crumpled in the plastic bag, no seperate wrapping despite the price tag. One was a silk shirt, which didn't resemble silk in any way and was transparent. Terrible quality. The other item was too small, I suspect M&S has changed the Jaeger pattern blocks to their own.
I am not impressed, and will not be purchasing from them again.
Permanently injured by Misery & Stress
There is nothing premium about a retailer that injures employees who then need NHS steroid injections in the local anaesthetic hospital theatre and dozens of sessions of NHS Physiotherapy. I worked at M&S Cheshire Oaks for 6 years and 4 months. 2 grievances in 2 years for management style and physical harm to employee. I now claim Universal Credit Limited Work Capacity and Related Activity, up to £855 a month, up to £10,248 a year from the DWP. In 2019, I was overworked on a belted food till, 5.5 hours a day, 5 to 7 days in a row for 4 months until I couldn't walk and developed incontinence, aged 42 having had no children. I didn't go off sick because I was threatened with policies including sickness and capability. I had no support, not even from a BIG rep, who was supposed to support me, until a very complex situation was exposed. My Team Manager had been dishonest to other Team Managers and on an Occupational Health referral and the Occupational Health Assessor advised me to immediately contact HR. The Occupational Health Assessor said he had never read such an unprofessional submission on an Occupational Health referral and immediately sensed a problem. 2 managers, a Team Manager and a Deputy Store Manager, disappeared following the investigation. Occupational Health instigated 3 years of light duties. I was still one of the most commercially successful M&S Customer Assistants ever, supporting over 5,000 credit card referrals, worth over £450,000 to M&S Cheshire Oaks and this was my thanks. Everyone I tell is upset for me and outraged at M&S for allowing this to happen. There were dozens of managers in that building and no one supported me. I have only partially recovered, I'm still traumatised, literally with flashbacks, nightmares and hyper vigilance, symptoms of PTSD.
Must do better
Bluewater
This week the screens have changed on the self service tills. Being a certain age, I can’t now read the writing on the screens. As for total. It’s tiny! I didn’t have an issue with how they were. I also don’t like the design of the packaging on the pasta meals. Again, before they changed them, I could read what they were. If I forget my reading glasses, I now struggle. My reading glasses aren’t that strong.
Chicken in pasta meals is now very poor quality. I now avoid those. I hate biting gristle.
Ice cream
You’d think in a heatwave if they have issues with the ice cream freezer they would put the ice cream somewhere else. They have so many chips for example. Don’t have all those chips and sell ice cream and lollies instead. I’ve been in there every other day for over a fortnight trying to get what I usually buy. This is wasting my time and petrol. Still no ice cream. Was near Sevenoaks today so stocked up in there and fortunately they survived the longer journey home.
Shoplifting in the changing rooms is rife. Why don’t they crack down on it? You can just go in there and not even take a number. There’s always empty hangers in the ladies changing rooms and quite often security tags/devices on the floor. Quite often where there should be 3 knickers in a pack, there’s 2. This must push up prices for everyone else. I had to buy pyjamas without the bottoms because someone had pinched them!
Low quality products - time for a change
After a lifetime of shopping for knickers and under garments , I have completely lost patience and any expectation of quality products from M&S. I have bought knickers over the past 2 years and after a few washes they fell apart. Aside from that they are thin and become uncomfortable - do M&S think that customers dont notice that they are producing low grade products now and charging more at same time? Well all my friends have noticed and we are moving on to other stores. Shame that M&S dont value their customers and wish them to stay by keeping the quality products they used to sell.
In addition. the prepared foods are full of toxic ingredients- in case folks dont know - seed oils are cheap and highly toxic. Yet every singe prepared food dish I picked up had them in. Instead of using a quality olive oil they stoop to the level of Tesco et al.
Hertford foodstore
Last Saturday I collected 3 trays of Sandwiches that I ordered from M&S food store in Hertford. They were easy to order. I received a text that morning to say they were ready.
I went to the store & a most helpful & polite young man got the sandwiches for me & even insisted on carrying them to the car for me. It has been years since I have received such good customer service from staff anywhere.
I’m not sure but I think the man in questIons name is Quinn.
He is an asset to your team.
I would have no hesitation in visiting the store again & the sandwiches were very popular at the party.
Bereavement flowers ordered for Sunday…
Bereavement flowers ordered for Sunday delivery did not arrive. Promised for Monday, did not arrive ,promised for Tuesday, did not arrive. Finally delivered on Wednesday after numerous phone calls and lots of stress. Very disappointing. I have no idea what condition the flowers were in when they arrived as I haven't contacted recipient. Different excuses for non delivery given each time I phoned.
My order for my holiday was not ready…
My order for my holiday was not ready as delayed. Then they redistributed my order the week after when I was on holiday. I requested my order being held at the branch until I returned home but they said they are unable to keep in store for more than 5 days.
The result is no holiday items needed and further insult of products sent back due to their failure to deliver on time.
Discussed with customer service but unable to help !
M&S have improved their products recently but are behind on their customer service
Lovely friend sent me a bouquet…
Lovely friend sent me a bouquet delivered from m and s for a special birthday , 2 days flowers are dead , I contacted them , sent photos and gave them the persons name and address who ordered them , wouldn’t replace , dreadful service
Store brought bouquet
I brought large bouquet of roses for £35. They only lasted for 4 days compared to other stores flowers. Very disappointing and waste of money.
Trousers not fit to be worn
Purchased some pull on trousers and the waist band elastic twisted from washing once. I tried to return to store but even though I had a receipt from online purchase they said items are only guaranteed for 6 months!! So they are only fit for the bin. I am very disappointed they do understand consumer law
I have tried to purchase 3 items of…
I have tried to purchase 3 items of women’s clothing on line and in store over the space of the last 3 months and each one has been out of stock and unavailable at my local branch! What on earth is going on there? I’m an average size 12/14 so I would have thought they would have had plenty of those sizes available! Also I agree with the other reviews regarding the new sparks card system……far too complicated! Needless to say I will be shopping elsewhere for clothes!
I bought a flower delivery service from…
I bought a flower delivery service from m and s and unfortunately was rather underwhelmed with small bouquet that was delivered.
I visited 4 days after delivery and felt that the flowers were rather disappointing.
I should add that the flowers were delivered on time, infact early on the nominated day and were in excellent condition.
Disappointed
I have just visited the new Godalming food hall opened on the 16h July. Without a doubt everything is beautifully laid out shelves are stacked fully. However a lot of produce is now behind tall glass cabinet style compartments making it less accessible for some who cannot juggle the door and getting produce. These are items that are not behind glass in other stores such as fruit and vegetable items. I also waited around 4 minutes at one cabinet whilst people decided what they wanted with the doors open which meant I couldn’t just lean in as I could have without the door being there and opened. My most disappointing aspect of the store is that no tills were manned? Most people happily accommodate small shops at self service tills but when you have a full basket load and you are on your own or with children it’s a logistical nightmare. Emptying the trolley loading the belt which then you have to reach all your goods from the end and scan and pack yourself? I asked several staff members if it was intended this store would always be like this and got varying answers. One staff member was very buoyant about this is the way forward. Marks and Spencer this is not the way forward for many people when doing a large shop. I heard so many people and talked to a few saying they would never go there again. I personally won’t go again and wouldn’t recommend it for a large shop. I have a disability but can happily do my own shopping when the necessary adjustments are made including having the option of manned tills. Having a store that ‘looks nice’ doesn’t mean it’s the best shopping experience. And staff need to know and tell the truth about if the store will have manned tills or not as the ones I spoke to gave conflicting answers. And just so you are aware I am a weekly shopper at M&S
Just sampled those lovey Strawberries…
Just sampled those lovey Strawberries that Tom Kerridge advertises on TV. Absolutely awful, Sour,Tough, and overpriced. Then on to those lovely juicy grapes, tough skins and a little on the Sour side. I will continue to get my fruit from Aldi. At least I can afford some imperfections shopping at Aldi, Tom, Stick to what you do best. Cooking.
Misleading sparks reward…
Misleading sparks reward…
Order number 306-0065772-7842254
I thought I was taking advantage of a sparks reward which was receive a £7 voucher when you spend £25 on trousers so I spent £89 and automatically thought I would receive £21 in vouchers but I only received £7? If I went into the store and made 3 separate sales I would have received the 3 vouchers. Customer service was a waste of time. This new scheme has to be loosing them both customers and money.
How far does their impunity extend
How far does their impunity extend? It has been over two weeks since they received my returned items, yet they continue to withhold my refund. Despite multiple emails requesting an update, they have chosen not to respond. This is not merely poor customer service—it is a blatant disregard for their customers and an entirely unacceptable level of unprofessionalism.
Lies and spoiled fruit
Bought spoiled fruit from the Basingstoke Festival Place store, then spent two weeks getting lied to by Customer services support staff who should know better.
Bought bananas from M&S Basingstoke Festival Place that were rotten straight out of the pack, all 8 of them.
Reporting it should have taken five minutes. Instead the first agent couldn't take my name after four attempts and refused to log a formal complaint until I demanded a manager. The UK "escalation" agent then flatly told me she was the highest point of contact available — untrue, and she stuck to it even when given the chance to correct herself.
Two staff members, two separate lies, both eventually confirmed as such by M&S themselves.
Took it to the CEO's office for a straight answer and got bounced between four different case handlers over two weeks, each one softening or ignoring what I'd actually said, at one point claiming I'd asked for compensation I never requested. It took five replies before anyone admitted the staff had given me false information. This is a well-known, supposedly quality high street name selling spoiled food from one of its stores and then burning two weeks of a customer's time just to get an honest answer. Genuinely poor, and avoidable at every stage.
Recently bought items of clothing with…
Recently bought items of clothing with a few different sizes and tried to return the non fitting ones 2 days outside of the window but was told that I have no other options than to keep the items. Tried speaking to customer service but they couldn't assist in any way. Whilst I understand the policy, not providing another option or being inflexible is not great customer service at all and feels like an easy way for the company to make money.
Read the small print on Sparks card offers
Sparks card - shame on you big advertising get £10 off if you spend £40 on your sparks card which i did (on line) only to find that oh NO you dont get your money as it has to be marks ands spencers own. brand that you buy.
this was buried in the terms and conditions i.e. small print. WHY can you not spell it out when you advertise the £10 off that it is ONLY on your own brand. Shame on you.
Leather pumps or plastic made to look…
Leather pumps or plastic made to look like leather. £58 for a black pair of ballet pumps. One is leather the other is plastic made to look like leather. Quality is awful so I’m sending them back with no way of complaining because it won’t let you do more than a few lines. M and s is going backwards. No wonder shops are closing. !!
