I have been using the Marley Spoon boxes for years. I appreciate their vegetarian options and interesting recipes. The reason I haven't given 5 stars is because their delivery service is awful. Boxes arrived damaged with marred and crush food items within. The company is responsive to the damage reports but this is an avoidable problem.
We were really excited about trying new dishes. We loved the idea that ingredients we don’t normally have on hand would be included. We both love to cook, so preparing meals together was fun and rewarding. Ok However, very disappointed in the quality, which seems to be going downhill. Missing ingredients, poor quality ingredients all lead to disappointment. Example: peach provided for a peach mango salsa was hard as a rock. Luckily I had a nectarine we used. Another dish called for shallot. I didn’t get one, but had a leek. Not sure if the just ok result was a result of that. A lot of the meat- especially beef- was an odd cut- thick on one end, thin on the other- or one steak thick, one thin. Doesn’t cook evenly. There were other issues, none really resolved. Yes, I got a $2 credit for the rotten cucumber, but that didn’t help me that night. Yes, I got a $2 credit for the missing chili spice, but a jar cost me $5.69. Many of the recipes were absolutely delicious, but about 1/3 of the meals I paid for were impossible to prepare as per the instructions.

The food and recipes are great. The recipes are easy to follow and have good portion sizes. I like the variety of offerings and LOVE that they have such heavy vegetable components. Ingredients are fresh.

Always taste good. Mostly easy to prepare. Ingredients always fresh except the latest box one ingredient missing and one moldy and unable to use.
I love the great choices, especially the asian meals. The ingredients are fresh and inviting. I have been with Marley Spoon close to a year now and have noticed a disturbing trend. Lately (3 different meals), some key ingredients are missing. Some may think so what, go to the store, except I live in a rural area and the nearest "good grocery store" is more than an hour away. My ok grocery store for instance doesn't carry ginger root, which was an ingredient that was missing last week.
We are really enjoying the addition of duck to the menus! My husband said it was as good as any he's had in restaurants!
I love the recipes on Marley Spoon and have made over 300 recipes on there. It's been so helpful to have all the ingredients ready and not have to go to the market frequently. I work from home, so it's easy for me to prepare early in the day and start cooking at the end of my workday. If you are not at home, it may be an issue since it may take a while to prepare the ingredients to use to cook. For me, it works really well and I love not having to think about what meals I will be preparing for the week.
I've had a few issues in the past with delivery and some ingredients that may be missed, but the company resolves them quickly and listens to feedback which is a major plus. I appreciate this about the company.
The recipes are all delicious and easy to follow and the ingredients are quality. My family are picky eaters and they have all liked most everything.
I love to cook, but I don't like grocery shopping or coming up with menus. Marley is the Answer for people like me. I like the variety of choices. Disclaimer- sometimes I tweak the recipe and add or omit items.
I just started receiving my orders last week both days. The order has come one full day after expected. The second order arrived at 9 PM on a Thursday and was supposed to arrive at some point on Wednesday. The order was just barely cold. The freezer packs were melted. This makes me very nervous.

Well, the first order came and immediately. I knew this was not equality. Company, the food had come cold in between 2 ice packs. However the vegetables that were given, we're all whole and not even cut the whole meal It was basically someone shopping for you. Putting it in a box between ice packs and saying here make this which took plenty of time and no help at all plus the products were not high quality example. A gyro We're supposed to be lamb or so I thought, unfortunately it came with chopped meat. And there's so many parts to every meal that I could have made a better meal myself and not need to go pay forty dollars for a bunch of uncooked food that was poor quality and requiring a lot of effort.
Here's the big biggest pet peeve.I have upon immediately receiving these ingredients and being disenchanted, I contacted the company to stop my next order, which was not supposed to come for a whole week. Well, I was told too late so sorry. We can't stop that order now. And no refunds period I tried to escalate the call She said, there's no no escalating and because I called too late, I would not receive a refund on either order. But now, when my second order came, the ice packs were not inside the box, it was strictly rotting food, smelling of putridness and no refrigeration.
Who do I go get this money back that they ruined a forty?Dollar meal didn't even send it to me with ice packs.So now I could not even feed it to my dogs.

scamming the world. I am just disgusted at your lack of customer service and no recourse for your failure to provide an edible dish.
I'm just providing an update. I was contacted by the company and told to contact them at another number for customer service. it's possible that employee did not represent their company well. Hopefully, they will rectify this.. I do appreciate that they contacted me right away. I'll let you know how this transpires.

I enjoy the variety of menus and the option to get deliveries every other week because it's just me and that's a lot of food. Especially since I tend to modify and extend their recipes, I use them more as a planning base.
Love the food and recipes, but couriers always deliver days late after protein items have thawed. It’s also very difficult to plan meals when items are not delivered on time. Should use FEDEX or UPS instead of gig economy couriers to ensure reliable delivery.

the food is great if it's delivered on time but I've had two weeks out of three not getting the delivery until well after the 9pm cutoff and because of where I'm located I've been unable to retrieve it from the package room before it spoiled. Company has not been responsive in addressing the issue

I've tried most of the meal plans and Marley Spoon is the worst. They neglected to send the steak for one of my meals, the potatoes were black inside, and then they just didn't send a box at all one week! Just terrible all around.

When I first started getting the boxes they were great. The options to chose from were great as well. Then after a few months the ingredients starting getting sub-par. Lots of old produce and smaller meat portions. Also, the recipes have become too exotic. I have gone down from weekly boxes to maybe one a month sometimes 2 but rarely.

The portions are very small for what you pay. We were looking for quick and easy recipes for two busy parents but the recipes were very involved and not filling at all. We have a toddler and were hoping to share a portion with her (it wouldn’t make sense to get portions of 4 servings for two adults and a toddler) Just not for us.

The recipes for the most part are really good. There are some great combinations of flavors that I've never experienced before and this program is a great way to try new food. The downside is there needs to be more of a variety to choose from every week. There seems to be various iterations using the same ingredients. The instructions also need some work...time to make the meal doesn't include prep time and the "items you'll need" doesn't include things like measuring cups/spoons or bowls. I typically double the time listed on the instructions to get a more accurate duration and I'm an experienced home cook.
