Worst rental company ever. Nobody answers the phone. The online service is hardly ever available. They took my money and I ended up renting with budget car rentals instead

Total scam!
I rented a car in Greece (ATH) airport and when I arrived, the car was not there nor anyone from Movemee.
1. I tried the app which is useless.
2. I called the customer service which is in London and no one picks up the phone, EVER!!
3. I found a number on movemee website which claims to be a Greece office number but it is a Finland number!
4. I showed up next morning trying to look for the car or person or Movemee office. Nothing.
5. I finally received emails (not a call) claiming that a person was waiting at the airport but we did not find him. How the hell am I supposed to find someone without any phone number in an international airport!
6. Movemee told me they will not refund me the entire seven days worth of rental service because I could not find the person!
7. After much argument, I asked them to just charge one day and return rest of the money back to me but they said that is against their policy.
Summary: Renting thru movemee has ruined my family trip to Greece. Basically, because I could not (or Movemee agent) could not find eachother at the airport, I missed the rental car and they still charged the Full amount!. I don't know how they can operate like this. I paid for the car, they never gave me the car but they still charged the full amount. This is a total SCAM! stay away from these frauds!!
** I'm responding to your Movemee's response below because it does not let you reply to Movemee's response. My answer is...the App doesn't work! it does not let me add the information and the button is not functional. To resolve this, I called the customer support but nobody answers the phone and did not get back to me by phone although my phone number and email is clearly indicated. Secondly, if something went wrong the night of the pickup, that's acceptable, just give me the car the next morning, but Movemee told me that the car is no longer available and I will be charged the entire amount without any refund!! that is a typical case of scam!. Two weeks later and here we are still no refund. I rented and pay for the car, I expect to get a car or at least a refund but nothing! if you were in my situation, what would you think? I never got the service I paid for. I'm taking any possible legal action to get my refund and also writing terrible reviews at every opportunity I get in order to deter other people from getting scammed also. My email address is jinu90505gmail If you are not a scam, you should at least return 5 days of rental cost back and you can keep 1 day cost.

Fuyez pauvres fous !!!! N'utilisez pas cette application, elle vous fera plus de mal que de bien. Cette application n'est pas finie, bug et n'est pas du tout à la hauteur du service qu'elle prétend donner. En plein mois d'août, mois auquel on s'attend que l'application soit au top de son fonctionnement, celle-ci ne marche tout simplement pas. Bien que réactive au début, l'assistance n'assiste rien du tout et vous fait poiroter pour rien. En raison de leur incompétence, j'ai perdu l'argent de ma réservation, sans pouvoir être remboursé. Une seule chose à faire, supprimer cette application et en parler autour de moi pour éviter que les personnes ne se fassent avoir.

Worst rental company EVER
We rented a car on Move Mee for our holidays in Greece from the 2nd to 8th of August 2021.
We arrived at Athens airport during night time and it was a nightmare to locate the car. We called Move Mee support number but nobody answered. From the begining, we realized we were left alone, in the dark, and the Move Mee application was useless because it does not allow the geolocation of the car.... It's just a google map point of the airport parking.
Few hours later, we found the car and it was a big surprise to see that the gas tank was empty !!! We had just enough gas to drive to the nearest gas station and refuel the car.
70€ to refuel and 2h lost, thanks.
Usually when you rent a car, you expect to have the full, or at least half of the gas tank. Not EMPTY!
Hold on, because the real troubles began after that...
We drove to the closest hotel for the night, and in the morning, when we took the car for a 2h trip to go to our Airbnb we rented for the week, we realized the car was overheating....
The car was overheating so bad, we had to do an emergency stop along the motorway, it was very dangerous !!
After some quick Google research (disable the A/C and put the heat to max), we found a way to drive to the nearest car service center to ask for help. It was the most horrible drive ever because in was more than 50°C in the car (maximum cabin heating to reduce the over heating of the engine).
The car was then checked by a professional and they told us it was very dangerous to drive it because the air cooling of the engine was not working.
We called the Move Mee road assistance, unsuccessfully, no one answered.
We called the Move Mee support, and they managed to have the road assistance to come to us, to take care of the car.
3h hours later, under the 45°C heat wave of Greece, near the forest fires close to Athens, we were still waiting for the road assistance. They never came! Never!
We decided to finally left the car and we noted the GPS coordinates to send it to Move Mee for a later pickup and we arranged to book another car from a better rental company.
Our trip then, went smoothly!
10 days later, we are still waiting for our full refund because we did not use the car.
We are still waiting for the 70€ gas refund as well.
We are calling Move Mee every 2 days and we sent 2 emails but we are still waiting for the refund or any indication.
We still don't know if they managed to locate the car.
I strongly advise to avoid this company, this is a full scam, the call center is always busy and they do not know how to take care of their customers.
Just imagine, the car was so dangerous to drive, we had to abandon it, how is it possible in 2021 to allow that ???? Seriously???
Anyway, Move Mee, thank you for calling me as soon as possible, we would like to be refunded for the full week + extra gas.

Worst car rental company ever. Sorry but runaway please. We rent 2 cars for our trip to Greece and it has been the most complicated trip ever in my life because of Move mee.
First thing to know is that nobody can help you out of working hours in the UK. So when you land in Greece at 1am, you need to wait until 11am that somebody wakes up and pick up the phone to help you. THERE IS NO F****** PHONE OR MAIL SERVICE
Their cars opens with an app. But OMG it’s so s**t!! Bug & crash all the time, can’t validate your document without the help of somebody in UK office (so when it’s 1am guess what’s happening ?)
So we have been able to get 1 of our 2 cars. The second has been cancel because I couldn’t get it at 4am with the app that didn’t work lol
We found another car with another company and it was ok. However the move mee car (which was fuel empty by the way) had «overheating engine» alert after 30min of driving. We went to a garage that told us we need to repair it. And that would take 24h.
So we needed to find another car from another company. I will stop there as it’s only the beginning of our story but it’s really difficult
Move mee please, I know you begin, you are like a startup but come on it’s only a matter of management decision, hire some guys that would answer the phone 24/7 and hire a good developer to get your app correctly it will not cost a fortune and will save your brand.
In the meantime, I wish you a very pleasant day.

Great and very good experience renting a car from Athene airport for 6 days.
The check in/out were fast and easy avoiding loosing time!
The customers assistant via both email and phone were fine answering to all our questions! Reccomended! Gabriele (ITA)

Overall you guys did a great job.
Collecting the car was however pretty stressful.
It wasn't clear where it would be and in fact it wasn't on site for over an hour past the reserved time. The tank was nearly empty and the fuel gauge made that hard to see until the warning came on as we cruised down a motorway out of Athens!
That said, your guy on the scene - Leftericus (apologies for probable mis spelling) was super helpful when we could not get into the car!
The rest of our experience was really good and we appreciated you letting us drop off a couple of hours late in recompense for the pickup delays.

Fundamental Issues make the app useless
I had booked a car through the MoveMee app for pickup at Stansted airport. I did this to allow me to have a contactless pickup. So had provided all documentation, payment and deposit etc.
I flew to Stansted. The car was parked in a hotel car park about a 15 minute bus ride away. Unfortunately picking up the car was a bad experience. The free hotel shuttle bus wasn’t running and I had been given no prior warning of this even though it’s clear now that the bus hasn’t been running for some time since the hotel has been closed for months. I had sent my flight number to the local rental car company that supplied the car the day before pickup as requested. The alternative bus 510 wasn’t due for an hour so I began to wait at this bus stop (it’s not a free bus) but after 20 minutes I started getting notifications from the MoveMee app that I was late for the pickup. So instead I had to get a taxi to the hotel car park costing me £14.50.
When I got to the car the condition report on the app stated no damage but there was clear damage to the car. There’s no way to report the damage via the app so I had to go to the local rental car office as the customer support from MoveMee and is not very responsive. Luckily the office was open. Had it not been it wouldn’t be possible to pick up the car as it turned out that the allocated car wasn’t actually a keyless entry vehicle.

were very friendly and helpful and made a bad situation much better so I thank them for that. There was a lot of confusion about the fact I’d already paid the deposit through the app. But this was not the staff’s fault as they have not been given the correct information/training with regards to the MoveMee pickup process. So it’s understandable they would query it.
It was so annoying that the free shuttle bus was not running and I was forced to pay for a taxi. Since I had to go to the local rental car company office, there seemed no point in using this middle man app if it doesn’t actually work. The car itself was fine in the end but I’ve given this one star review based on the failures of the MoveMee app. I’ve given a separate much more positive review for the local car rental company. I’d recommend to rent cars directly from the local rental car companies until this app fixes the issues otherwise you may get stuck at an airport.
Edit: The free shuttle bus doesn’t have temporary restrictions (most people would interpret that as less people allowed on the bus or it running less frequently). The service has been indefinitely cancelled. Please be straight with your customers.

A problem validating ID
"There was a problem validating your ID, please contact customer support". But there is nothing to hear by phone, very bad connection.
And my rental starts tomorrow!
Nobody answers my question and solve the problem.

Good concept but needs improvement
1) More up-to-date and accurate information about where to pick up the car and where to drop it off (we spent an hour up and down the Athens airport looking for the car in the scorching sun and trying to communicate with customer services with poor mobile signal). A field in the app that specifies the car's location and is updated by your local partners would help a lot.
2) The app has many bugs that need to be fixed. Frequently getting errors, and especially after completing long forms (ex. the whole check-out process with the photos) is disturbing. The developers need to do more testing and debugging.
3) I don't like the fuel policy of having to return it with the same amount of fuel that you found it. First, when we finally located the car all the fuel bars were empty, and we were worried if we would even make it to the gas station. Second, on the way back you end up filling it up with small amounts to avoid overpaying as there is no refund for extra fuel, trying to calculate how much fuel you will need and again being worried of running out for fuel. A better policy would be: pick it up with a full tank and return it with a full tank. Simple stuff.
4) The car was very clean and in new condition, which was a positive. There was no windshield fluid though.
Overall it was a mixed-to-positive experience. Mixed because we had all these problems. Positive because in the end everything worked out fine and we enjoyed the car.
I would recommend it, but only if you're willing to face a couple of glitches.
It's a startup and I hope it will improve in the future.
