I made the mistake of buying a chair before I checked company reviews first. If you haven't bought from this company yet, DON'T. They use deceptive advertising, talk about "free returns" but charged me a random amount when I canceled an order that's not even in their Terms of Service, told me that shipping was free and then said they had to charge me for shipping on an order that I cancelled within minutes of placing it, explicitly DIDN'T charge a credit card transaction fee (which their state law says has to be declared in their invoice) but then refused to refund the fee that they didn't charge in the first place, and altogether acted shamelessly predatory and scammy, exactly like all of these other reviews said like they were going to act.
Their website sells "brand new" chairs that are all actually used chairs according to their own Terms of Service page. They charge for shipping despite saying "free shipping" all over their website and even on their invoices. "Free returns" and "money back guarantee" are a joke, because the company appears to advertise a 100% refund policy despite having an actual policy of never giving anyone a full refund no matter what the circumstances.
My credit card company agreed that what this company is doing is illegitimate and fully refunded what I was charged. If you're one of the many, many people who Office Chair At Work didn't deliver a product to and scammed out of a full refund, document everything and contact your credit card company.

Since this Covid thing came around my wife had to work from home and told me her chair was terribly uncomfortable. Which prompted me to stop looking and buy the chairs.My wife has a fully loaded Haworth Zody chair at work and loves it. So I looked them up and found the Officechair@work site. I found 2 identical chairs we wanted so I ordered them both. Shortly after that I got a Email with a log in and password for their site and then another with the purchase and confirmation for the chairs with tracking number.The chairs were clearly listed as refurbished. It said it takes a few days to process orders. After a week or so I got nothing from them so I looked at reviews and saw all the 1 star reviews and 5 star nothing in between. That being said, I understand that most people don't even leave a review if they are satisfied. This kind of alarmed me so I checked the tracking number which did not work so I contacted them and got a reply back that said it wont activate until FedEx picked it up. Which makes sense.I was also told that it takes 5 to 15 days for the order to be processed and shipped. I am pretty sure these chairs are purchased from businesses who are changing out their chairs or remodeling offices. In which they do need some sort of work and cleaning to prepare them for shipping.I decided to be patient and wait the appropriate time they said it would take. The tracking number they sent went live a couple days before the time they said to wait by. a few days later I had my chairs (smelling like carpet cleaner) which I am grateful for. They are used but I knew this from the gate. Everything looked good and worked. The only thing that was off was that the arms are not adjustable on the chairs as stated in the order.But then again I realize that these chairs are from different places and not all models will have the same options. Overall my wife and I are pleased with this purchase and so this is why I put it under the 4 star rating as to " stand out" from the others.

These guys are thieves, this business. is a SCAM. I cancelled my order after reading that they falsely advertise used chairs as new, but before it was shipped out.
It took over 2 weeks for them to refund my card, and I noticed a 10% ($48) discrepancy missing from the refund. The chair was not shipped and this fee is not listed in their website, nor did they communicate this to me in any way.
This is unscrupulous behavior and I should've read all of the negative reviews for this company before purchasing. What a waste of time and money. Avoid ordering from them!

Office Chair at Work is a SCAM. Do NOT do any business with this garbage. They purposefully sent another person’s FedEx tracking number (issued days before I had even heard of them, much less placed an order) in order to trick PayPal into closing an open dispute, in an effort to delay/prevent me from getting my $$ back.

Website says 1-7 days to receive your chair but once you don’t, after the 7th day and contact them to inquire they will tell you it’s gonna take 10-15 business days and when you cancel (didn’t even receive my partial refund until another 7 days after) they will hold some sort of bs fee (could be up to 100% of the chairs value) they held 10% from me for no reason. Nothing had shipped and I canceled the next day. A good business would never do stuff like this.
Someone needs to do something about this shady business.
I disputed the charges on PayPal and then Ben Henderson emailed me, he said if I wanted any help I need to close the PayPal dispute. He denied the dispute on PayPal but I appealed the denied dispute with more information from my side and PayPal will get them to return the remaining amount.

Do NOT purchase from Office Chair at Work. First, be aware that the equipment that sell is used. After placing my order, I cancelled the order prior to shipment. It took several emails and two weeks for them to issue credit and it was only a partial credit. Their response was that they had extensive costs involved in processing an order and fees from the credit card company which was all allowed in the fine print of their terms. Their terms are intentionally vague and written so that they can charge you various fees for cancelled orders or returned items and they can dictate the $ amount they charge you.

Was looking for new office chair. Wish I had read BBB reviews, Yelp Reviews, Trust Pilot or Glassdoor before doing business with this SCAM company. They have 99% negative reviews and the only positive ones are FAKE, probably from them.
They list office chairs on their website as BRAND NEW OEM from top manufactures like Herman Miller and Steelcase. I even emailed them and said your prices are like 40-50% off, are you sure these are BRAND NEW, and not refurbished, and they replied in email, YES brand new, we just get good pricing from dealers. What I didn't know is that they are NOT AUTHORIZED dealers of these companies, and in fact had been sued by these companies.
After going through with purchase, my credit card is immediately charged, not just authorized but charged, before merchandise even ships. I then get suspicious and I read all these terrible reviews of so many people getting scammed by this company. Hundreds of people said they ordered a chair listed AS NEW, and it came used, refurbished, non-OEM parts, no instructional manuals, dirty or dusty, and not in an original box, some people got chairs in a box with NO PACKING MATERIALS for shipping.
Their website advertises FREE RETURNS, MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. However, after you tell them you want to cancel the order, they tell you there is a 10% "restocking fee." A 10% restocking fee on a product that HAS NOT EVEN SHIPPED! That is stealing.
And even worse, if they have already shipped the product and you return it, after they receive it back they will keep 20% restocking fee. But the thing is, the reason people are returning is because product is not new, or comes damaged, or with bad parts. So they send product labelled as NEW, that is NOT NEW, and then if you want return, they steal your money. People have lost hundreds of dollars to this SCAM company.
I had to do a dispute with my credit card company which is active under investigation right now.
This company needs to be put out of business. I am filing another complaint with the FTC Consumer Fraud Division.
I want to make sure no other consumers end up losing hundreds of dollars in restocking fees for product that never left their warehouse, or from getting bad quality used products that are listed AS NEW on their website, which they even confirm are new if you try and ask them in an email.

Good reviews are fake, they boost it and pay google to boost the listing to be the top so you can't see Yelp and BBB reviews.
They scam, will charge a restocking fee even if they don't ship. Only sell used chair, says "full waranty" for herman miller when they can't honor it due to them not being a authorized dealer. Their "warranty" is that they ship you replacement parts on your dime and you have to install it yourself. Oh the parts are also used. This site is scummy and does every trick in the book. They just want you to order and once that's done when you return or cancel because youve realized how bad this site is, they will charge you 10-30% restocking. Listed a chair as new, purchased, then changed listring to used. I cancelled and they refused to respond to my question on if I'll be getting a partial refund and forcing me to close my Paypal case for the refund which would mean I cannot open another case if they try (Im sure they will) screw me.
Dont trust this site, dont trust trustpilot. Look at Yelp and BBB before you buy.

I bought a Herman Miller chair and the arm broke within 3 months. They refused to honor their advertised warranty. Many of us are working from home and it's tempting to order a refurbished chair to save money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Great service and highly satisfied with Office Chair @ Work and the chair I received. I don't post a ton of reviews, but figured since I got such great service... So, I opted for the Humanscale brown leather with the headrest and rollerblade wheels. The chair arrived next day, once the order was processed. The website clearly states the processing time is 15 days or less, and the chair was advertised as 'Restored', but mine looks almost new! So, I am extremely happy with the company and the price! This chair new is $2000, but I paid $700! I bought it to replace the same model I have used for over 10 years, so if you want the best chair at the best price, get a Humanscale from these guys!

SCAM. Beware. They send you a used/broken chair that will need parts. Although they say that you can get a full refund within 30 days. they short change your refund and tell you that you returned the item before waiting for parts, thereby making you ineligible for full refund. This makes no sense whatsoever. Now short $100 and they won't respond to my emails (they only method of communication as their posted number is available only to tell you to email).

This is the worst product and service I have ever received. The refurbished item was shipped damaged and incorrect. I have attempted for a week to resolve this issue with "customer service". Their phone number is unmanned and simply tells you to open a ticket where you will get no help. I was told that the correct seat and wheels could be shipped to me, where I can replace them myself. However, upon further challenging, the "agent" finally admitted that the seat cannot be changed out by the customer. So my "resolution" is to box up and ship this enormous chair, get a refund, and reorder. Zero attempts were made to actually correct the issue. They're rude from the start and based on what I've seen online, it would not be wise to wait for a refund from this company. They seem to never arrive.

This is how I think that Office Chairs at Works operates (as well at Seating Mind, Fine Mod Imports, and any other name this company operates under in Elizabeth, New Jersey): A customer places an order, and when nothing ships after a couple of weeks, the customer gets frustrated enough that they ask to cancel the order. When the company agrees to cancel the order, they hold a 20% cancellation fee back. If a customer waits it out long enough, they receive a banged up chair, and then demands a return. After a lot of back and forth, they either agree to let the customer return, but keep a "restocking fee", or it's such a hassle to return the customer keeps the chair but demands a refund (which they ignore). Either way, they make money off of any purchase, whether it is returned or not, in an unethical way. I think they just send around the same, broken chairs, all over the country over and over again. Our office had a bad experience when we ordered 12 chairs, and received 12 BROKEN chairs. Delivery carrier was without a COI (first red flag, and upsetting our building management), and things only went downhill from there. We've had employees who come in, sit down, and the chair falls apart, and when we email customer service, they are either radio silent, or will ask us to send a video (???? Are you asking us to send a reenactment of someone's chair breaking? This is absurd). They claim everything is in the fine print, but why make something so hard to see unless you're operating in an ethical way? They constantly blame not responding to customer service emails on holidays they take 2-3 weeks off for?? This place is a joke. Hopefully someone can bring this place to justice before they scam too many people out.

Loved my Herman Miller chair, not “officechairatwork”. Did not receive all features that I paid for. Took over a month to get my headrest, turns out it doesn’t even fit.
They have a lot of excellent reviews in their website, but the negative review I left never showed up. Oh, they quit replying to emails too.

I agree with the last blogger. Do not buy from Officechairatwork.com. They will sell you used goods, shortchange your order, not respond to email, text messages or calls. Each of your contacts to them will be met with generic messages that they will get back to you, but they will not. They hide behind cryptic short messages knowing to expect complaints. Your returns will be an enormous hassle and they will short-change your refunds.
We have been attempting to get a refund for what was to be a Christmas present from my boyfriend for over a month. I will continue to blog and post our experience with captured screenshots of every step of the transaction and expose their shady business. I will also travel to New Jersey and host a press conference.

I will give -5 if I could. I did not received any shipping notice over 2 weeks after I placed order. I finally decided to cancel my order because it takes too long to wait. They emailed me to confirm the cancellation. But after another 2 weeks, I got only portion of my payment not fully refund. Do not trust this company.

Terrible experience, terrible product
I 100% echo some of the other reviews - STAY AWAY. I wish I read those before I ordered. The website makes you think you are buying new chairs, but instead it's junk. I received a chair with a defect base (when I tried to slower the seat, it just drops with a bang and hits the bottom instead of a smooth glide as it should). It was also obvious on the first look it's old parts cobbled together. They sent me a cylinder and said it's easy to change out. Instead, I had to make a huge mess in my apartment, scratched the floor, and broke my back trying to pull out the cylinder without success. I watched Youtube videos and they said I needed special tools, which is much more than what I bargained for. Also, a wheel just fell out when I flipped the base, and no way to put it back. The whole chair was a piece of trash.
I asked for a refund. They did give me return label. After a few persistent follow ups, I got 65% of the money back. I asked them what happened to the promised "money back guarantee"? They said they charge a restocking fee.
Very shady business. Save yourselves some troubles and go elsewhere for a chair.

A zero star doesn’t exist, or I would give a zero rating. This company sells “restored” chairs. Of course, it is impossible to find that on their website unless you look in something like section 20 of the terms and conditions. Free returns? Not true. My chair arrived dirty- with tons of hair in the wheels, dirty and scratched arms, and smelling of mold from being in a mildew covered box. They charged me 20% to restock the chair. They did offer to send replacement casters. Gross. Anyone shopping here needs to know that this firm uses unfair and deceptive business practices.
