The knife that we received is of a great quality and almost a piece of art. Unfortunately we got the wrong color, but the customer care (Kamila) did everything to make sure, we as customers are happy. Overall a good experience, i can recommend Japana to every knife fan.

Japana knives are the best I have ever had. Not only are they excellent for chopping but they’re also absolutely gorgeous. I bought 2 sets for my daughter and loved them so much I ordered them for myself. I highly recommend Japana to anyone who enjoys cooking and baking as much as I do. Thanks Japana!!! Beautifully made. Most of all good strong magnets! It holds an 180mm Deba with no hesitation. I look forward to filling it with plenty of beautiful Japanese knives!!

The utensil holder that I ordered is beautiful. Shipping did take some time but was worth the wait! When I finally received the item I was honestly nervous that it looked too small but it was perfect! The craftsmanship is beautiful and well made. The only thing I added were small feet to keep it a little elevated off of the counter from potential oil or spills.

Love my Japanese style knife stand so much - it is very beautiful and also such amazing quality.

I don’t want to be brutal. A delay was caused due to the situation with Brexit. But. A little bit of honesty about the delay would have been appreciated.

I was in constant contact with the company and I have let them know my disappointment but I have no doubt the delay was unavoidable but they just would not admit there was a problem

The item I ordered was of high quality and my son is very pleased with it. I was prepared for the delay.

Wish this rating was higher. The customer service was great, but there were problems with shipping (which were not Japana Home's fault), and the packing was awful. By the time the product got to me, the package was smashed (again not their fault), but the packing was insufficient, so everything inside was crushed, and one of the products was damage. Aside from the customer service being very responsive, the entire order was a bit of a mess. In total, it took almost 2 months to receive 1 damaged product and 1 undamaged product in crushed packaging.

Website was easy to navigate and I found my Japanese Placemats in the size I wanted at the only website I could find them. Only complaint was lack of tracking number, until I contacted Customer Service via E-Mail. Everything was solved pretty fast, so I'm pretty happy all and all.

1. Delivery: due to Brexit there were unforeseen delays (+2-3 weeks). While I can understand that such things happen it would've been nice to have been kept up to date, rather than have to inquire about it myself.

2. packaging: although the knife wasn't damaged in any way, the cardboard presentation box was completely destroyed. Considering the price of the knife (430 €) I found this to be a little disappointing, and it definitely took away from my 'opening' experience.

3. Build quality: the blade and handle are undoubtedly beautifully crafted, however, considering the standing of the hinoura-family, I expected the knife to be sharp as a razor straight out of the box, however, this wasn't the case. I understand that traditional carbon knives are not always fully sharpened upon delivery, however, if this is the case, this should have been made clear for the beginning. As such, I had to sharpen the knife immediately (it took very well to the whetstones, which was nice). (To be clear it wasn't dull at all, however, it didn't compare to my other (stainless!) Japanese knives).

All in all, my expectations weren't fully met, and considering the price of the knives, I did not expect this. As such, I'm sorry to say that i probably won't be ordering from japana again.

Beautiful product and exquisitely packed, didn't want to spoil the black tissue. Am doing my best to follow the care instructions and love the aroma when wiping with damp cloth. It is a pleasure to use with my Niwaki knives. Glad I went for the large size, it is just right. Highly recommended.

Great service and very pleased with the knives

I purchased their countertop magnetic knife block because my new apartment does not have any wall space to put a wall mounted knife magnet.

Construction and quality are top notch.

Packaging actually left a lot to be desired, the box came pretty much crushed with multiple holes in it. Packaging inside was lacking. Luckily the wood was not damaged in transit, which I was surprised by.

One suggestion I have: I wish the knife block was heavier in the base, so when you go to grab a knife you do not need to worry about tipping the block over. This is more of a problem for wider/longer knives that will contact multiple magnets and have a stronger hold when in the stand.

Delivery took a while from UK, but that's not Japana's fault. The product itself is fine - it's got a mesmerizing scent and looks very well on my worksurface. Customer service was A1!

I ordered a cutting board, which arrived very quickly, and was very pleased with it when it arrived. It is a beautiful piece of wood that is almost too good to use. Sadly, the courier broke the sharpening stone that I bought, but it was replaced without fuss and the new stone arrived in first class condition.

I was looking for a new knife set, my old set was almost 20 years old and struggling to retain a sharp edge so after spending a good bit of time researching knifes and in the end I opted to go Japanese and purchased the 3 Sakai Kyuba x Japana set. They are not cheap!

The knifes are beautiful to look at, light to handle and gosh they are sharp. They make preparing food a pleasure the ease they slice through vegetables and meat is incredible. After using these I’ll never be able to use a cheap knife again to cook.

There is a saying in life you get what you pay for and buy cheap buy twice. They are expensive but if you enjoy cooking they are absolutely worth it.
