Shocking service

Shocking service, ordered a CD player in October, received nothing. Avoid this company like the plague, I think they are con artists! They take your money then disappear!!

OTIC AUDIO - RECOMMENDED

I purchased a Topping A70 Pro Headphone Amplifier to give away as a special Christmas gift.
OTIC audio had the product in stock and ready to ship in the UK plus they also price matched it for me with the best 'official' UK sales price I could find.

Product arrived in its factory sealed box just as it should and was gifted to the person on Christmas day who absolutely loves it.

Excellent service from OTIC Audio with this experience.

My buying experience with OTIC was excellent. The delivery was prompt, and the product was well-packaged, ensuring it arrived in perfect condition. Their customer service was responsive and helpful, which added to my satisfaction.

If you're looking for a high-quality DAC/amp, I highly recommend the iBasso DC Elite. It delivers incredible value for its price and makes a noticeable difference in audio performance. Thumbs-up to OTIC for a great shopping experience!

Unfair trade

To be honest, I wasn’t really happy that first you raised the price for the product, to drop it on Black Friday. It feels unfair.

Anyway, this is the Christmas present and I don’t know what is inside the box.

Communication was pretty poor initially…

Communication was pretty poor initially as sent several emails for asking for updates on delivery. Finally got a reply from Craig who was excellent in answering my queries. Only giving 3 stars because of the poor communication at first.

Definitely the best price for the WiiM…

Definitely the best price for the WiiM Ultra from OTIC. I've bought from them before and I'd always try to support smaller, independent retailers wherever I can. Delivery was a little slower than I had anticipated and improved sharing of order processing details and times would be welcome.

Sold earbuds as demo but they look more…

Sold earbuds as demo but they look more like a secondhand product, i.e. well used. They didn't look like they had been cleaned so I threw away the tips. This was my first experience of OTIC and it wasn't a good one. I also emailed them to state my disappointment but haven't heard back from them

Apoloiges but we have been very busy these last few weeks due to the Black Friday Sale and Christmas shopping -

They charge a transaction fee if you haven't received your goods and want to cancel

Further Update: looks like they still have lots of "pre-order" items on their website. The model is to take your money instantly and then leave you waiting until they can fulfil the order. They don't indicate the timescale and that can be a while. Meanwhile, the price elsewhere may have changed and you can end up paying more than you would have done elsewhere.

Update - interesting that they seem to put pressure on TrustPilot to change negative reviews. Others seem to have reported likewise. This company (PrussianDisco Ltd, trading as OTIC) hasn't been around very long. It was incorporated in 2021, so hasn't much of a track record. It has one registered director. You can check it out on the Companies House website for free. Company number 13318014 PRUSSIANDISCO LTD. In 2023-24 it made a loss.

In my case, the item wasn't sent and I chased it. They said it was a pre-order and didn't know when it would be in stock. I asked to cancel. They said there would be charge for this, even though they hadn't received the item themselves and had not sent it to me. But they had charged my credit card - immediately upon order, and not upon dispatch, as some other companies do.

They seem to list a lot of items that are "pre-order", i.e. not in stock. You can wait a long time for these, and the price elsewhere may change in the meanwhile.

So, OTIC didn't allow me to cancel when I got fed up with waiting. They just pointed to T&Cs that indicated various charges and fees. I asked what the fee would be and they wouldn't or couldn't tell me. If I was the only one with similar issues, I might think it's just me, but there are quite a few experiences like this reported elsewhere.

The answer I keep getting to any queries is that this is all laid out in the T&Cs - their stock answer it seems. But those are largely impenetrable, and not "impeccable" as they say. It's worth checking these out on their website to see if you can make sense of these and whether you wish to take a punt.

In my case, they have said:

"- You were able to cancel at any point during the transaction but we transaction fees that you did not want to pay - The item you purchased we clearly PRE ORDER and the item was marked as such".

So, they have your money, and if you want to cancel because it's a pre-order and you have had to wait many weeks, you have to pay them a "transaction" fee. Even if they haven't received or even dispatched the item to you yet. Best to note that this is the kind of company you are dealing with here.

And the latest: they threaten legal action if you raise these issues. OTIC's response - a threat to report this to the authorities as a case of fraud. Unbelievable. Their legal threats are clearly misplaced and it doesn't take a genius to understand that this is just ridiculous.

So, an awful company that seems to be a one-man band with a strange sense of customer service. Best to avoid and shop elsewhere.

And they seem to suggest that all must be well as I haven't returned the product. That's just a pure misdirection and typical for this company. The whole point was that you were levelling unjust charges for a simple return. Just awful.

FURTHER UPDATE - Customer has still not returned the item they received - So must be happy with the product even though they have claimed time and again they didn't want to wait for the item- We have PRE ORDER items on products that are either brand new pre launched or sold out and waiting for restock, This is a normal occurrence for small independent stores, we're not Amazon or Argos. - Customer did not need to place any order with OTIC if they did not wish to wait for the item which clearly stated PRE ORDER - Instead they are wasting their own time with a edited 1 star review which no longer effects our trust pilot score. Please note that we are still in pursuit of the monies that are owned to OTIC for the purchased item and are happy to escalate to the proper authorities with fees included

UPDATE - All you need to do for your refund is to return the item that was purchased instead of Fraudulently using the Chargeback method with your credit card provider. All PRE ORDER items clearly state and our T&C regarding Pre Orders are clearly shown on our web store. You had every opportunity to cancel but did not want to pay cancellation transaction fees.

We can also now see you have submitted a charge back via your bank for goods you still have in your possession even though we have given you return instructions which constitutes FRAUD and we will take necessary steps to recover the Item or any funds which may be lost due to this sale. You can continue to write 1 star reviews but this is now a matter for UK law enforcement unless we receive the product back for inspection

EDIT - To address your claim that the product is faulty, we have proposed two reasonable options for resolution:

Return for Inspection- You may return the product for inspection, after which we will process your refund if the item is found to be faulty. Once this option is agreed upon, we kindly ask that the chargeback request is canceled to allow us to proceed accordingly.

Keep the Product - Alternatively, you may retain the product and cancel the chargeback. This option will conclude the matter without further action required.

Please note that our policies, including the cancellation and restocking fees for opened and used items, comply with relevant regulations and were outlined in our terms and conditions at the time of purchase.

iBasso IEM Headphones

Good company to deal with and website is easy to follow and order from. There was an issue with DPD delivery but an email to Craig who promptly replied and took it in hand to deal the issue. Great customer service. Will not hesitate to use OTIC again for future purchases.
