My seven year old Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L developed a fault. The chain on the zip would no longer close when pulled. This was a real shame as the bag has been the perfect companion - roomy for my micro43rds and even MF system, very well constructed and highly protective. I remembered that a lifetime guarantee was offered on the bag and I had managed to keep the original receipt so I had everything I needed to submit a warranty claim. Peak honoured the warranty claim and a new bag is on its way to me. I am massively impressed that a company would stand by its product after all these years as my experience is that most companies would find ways to avoid doing so. I even received a nice email from the CEO and a response to a question I raised directly with him. A quality company, proud of their product and with honesty and integrity towards its customers.

I was a kick starter backer of Peak Design back when they released their very first everyday backpack. It was worth every penny. It is still going strong, no tears no wears, no scuffs, no nothing. I have literally said out loud how “I love this backpack” more time than I said anything like that on any other product, let alone hiking product, that I have ever owned.

Their main (first?) designer lead, Art, is fittingly artistic indeed. Their products' design is centered on friendly usability, actual usefulness, and sleek appearance. Simply put: they actually have the user in mind behind every little (and big) detail. It is commendable, especially nowadays, where most other companies focus on profitability, marketing, and god forbid planned obsolescence (yuck!). These guys & gals actually, do, better <3

And somehow, despite their focus on actual practical enjoyable and beautiful user experience and usage of the physical end result that ends up in our hands, they still manage to have absolutely spotless marketing, without pushing anything but humor down your throat.
I so appreciate this brand, seriously. And all that is without even mentioning their commitment to a better planet. For real, this is what every company should aspire to.

Yes, prices can be slightly on the higher side, but I'd rather get the products only when I can actually afford the quality, and indeed receive the quality I pay for, than buy crappy degredable low quality things that look & feel good for a short period of time and then croak on me (like the fast fashion industry pushes on us daily, for example).

Today I have learned, that even when they cannot solve my reason for waiting on a purchase of their product, they still act absolutely professionally, while speaking very kindly and personably.
And when you reply back to one of their clearly-automated-but-still-sweet-&-funny emails, they actually read it and reply with fun & kindness to that one too. I mean, just think how many company CS departments have acted like fools to you in the last year or two. These fellas aren't like that. They care, and act like real human beings.

More companies should act this kindly, design like so for usefulness, and have a warranty that actually cares like these peeps do.

When they replaced their old model anchors WORLDWIDE, because of a tiny few being found "bad", that was amazing. The power move of warranties. Everyone should act like that!

Here's some context:
Like 7 or so, in a batch of thousands of v3 anchors (maybe it was v2? 🤷‍♂️), were found to be able to break when the weight of a whole human was put upon them. These anchors are smaller than a finger, and these peeps were like "can't hold the weight of a wholeass human like we promised? Nah, we can't have that! Send them ALL new anchors! Even if they never complained! Make a whole new version of anchors that makes gobbly dang sure this issue never ever returns, and send them for free to anyone who has an old one! Don't even ask them for proof. If they ever purchased from us, and they thiiink maaaybe their anchor is this version, just send them a new one. Free product, free shipping, do it! Oh, and make a whole video just to teach them how to recognize the faulty ones while you're at it".
If a company cares about their image — THIS is how to get a good reputation. I mean daaamn!

I tip my hat to this company.
And to be clear, I am not affiliated, I'm just a user of two of their products (I will likely get more in the future, but this goes to show just how much I appreciate their products and their sturdy & careful design & implementation).
