Poor discount offer. Sad for RACQ if they think its ok. They had a weak excuse trying to justify their higher price with a movie ticket in the deal which they valued at 20 dollars.

I have always found the RACQ customer service quite good.
But I can’t understand why they cannot explain why my house insurances premiums (3 in total) have increased by over 100%!
This then takes multiple phone calls and then cancelation of my policy to actually get it reviewed. Time consuming and crazy!!!
I have decided to take my 4 policies elsewhere.

Really poor customer service
I contacted RACQ to have my car towed to my repairer today, the fellow I spoke to from the contact centre was very polite and helpful but unfortunately Annette from the office who contacted me after to demand extra payment because the tow would be over the limit of free tow was not so pleasant.
She asked me for my bank details to put into her system to pay for the extra miles, I have been hacked a couple of times now so I was not comfortable in giving those details to her over the phone and offered to go into the office but she said unless I paid upfront I wouldn’t get my car picked up. I felt bullied and threatened by her, I am a gold card member and have been with RACQ for more than 20 years so I’m hardly going to skip out on paying the difference of the tow.
I think Annette is lacking in PR skills and would benefit from a refresher, clearly she wasn’t taking any notice at previous training.
Now I have to cancel my card again.

Road raging RACQ truck Driver Cornubia Qld. Would not let me out of my park, i am more out of the park then in, I honestly thought he would let me out, cause it made sense! Nope, he comes right up behind my boot, then starts blasting his horn, so I kept going, he follows me out to the end of the driveway, still blasting away, now we have an audience. I flipped him off, he's still honking, he parks behind me, gets out comes over, starts to give me a spray, I tell him to go away giving him the hands up, he calls me a c..nt, starts banging on my window. I have 2 kids in the car, then the hero goes back to his truck.

Avoid avoid avoid! We Currently have 7, yes seven Racq policies. This includes Ultra care breakdown and full comprehensive on my car that THEY broke! They have failed on break down service customer service and negligable on care or customer support. We ASKED FOR A TOW after my car was stuck in gear... later to find out 6th and reverse. No tow truck sent, only a RACQ call out guy off his head, he drove my pride and joy (stuck in 6th And reverse) and burnt out clutch! We are Still trying to speak to someone to make sense and no support from RACQ... TOTALLY ignoring emails and bad service and failing to communicate follow up or care at all! Ignoring my contact and emails. Now almost 3 months later no resolve.RACQ is evasive, non communicative! PLEASE find another insurer. We are currently still trying to seek any kind of support from them no car and still paying them for 7 pollices and previlage being treated with contempt by RACQ.

Extension to this is the company said it couldn’t be paid with no car….the police had it listed under another Qp and now it’s listed you would think they would change their tune….you fools. How is it his fault when the police link it the vehicle up to a fire and the vehicle has now been moved. Where is it…Lol you guys don’t even make phone calls to follow up….it’s up to RACQ and the police ti find the bloody vehicle this is what people put trust into their insurance companies. please contact this number 0410630675 if you have had misgivings with RACQ as people want a COMMISSION into insurers over past 2 years and their refusal to pay out. I also have been in contact with news people very interested in running this story. The police don’t even know why the person hasn’t been paid out well poor old RACQ think it’s because they feel they are constantly paying out for youth crime that now they try to put the onus on the person insured. You need to prove your vehicle was taken ….SHOCKED Are you well why do we need police or insurers. The police didn’t link the vehicle the insurers investigators sit on their hands and then as a last resort get a bodgy forensic report to give reason why you shouldn’t get paid…don’t turn up in your work clothes or look like a pauper because then RACQ think your uneducated and look for a loop to get out of the claim….so he rang the forensic dude, which the call is taped and the person to whom they used says that age vehicle can’t be done. Meaning it can’t be looked at …a $21 000 vehicle that’s write not a Mercedes, not a mustang pathetic practices.
Mateys out there if you’re left waking up with no vehicle with camera footage which the police think is awesome well what hope has anyone else got. That’s not good enough if their intelligent staff can’t work it out. What do they get paid for. I have just changed all insurances from racq to other insurers that are not affiliated. This insurance company lies through their teeth and will go to great lengths to back fellow employees who condemn and intimidate and racist an interview then have it in for you if you complain against the interviewer who is saying nothing but rolling eyes, shrugging shoulders and shaking head…your doomed from this point when this happens and then they get spoken to this is what happened to this guy. Fraudulent, negligent and down write assuming and personally insulting no fact just working for the company …SO YOU DONT GET PAID OUT. After telling me I was eligible for a refund, they then don’t bother to actually follow through with it! After me following up with them up for MONTHS! Nothing was resolved. This is after being insured through them for over 8 years. NEVER AGAIN WILL I INSURE ANYTHING THROUGH THEM AGAIN!

After making me wait over 5 months for information regarding my claim which was a harmless accident. They screwed me around with no contact for 5 months, investigated the claim to then turn around and tell me that my claim was fraudulent and not able to be settled.
Leaving me with no car, no hire car. I paid $1800 for the insurance claim in FULL to receive none of my benefits.
Half way through my claim they added on $750 excess without telling me due to 1 speeding fine I had almost 5 years ago which I did disclose to them before I made the claim.
Everytime I called for information the staff were disgustingly rude & had no sympathy towards the situation.
They also made me provide a medical certificate to prove I was competent in doing an interview with the investigation team.
Don’t waste your time or money insuring with them unless you like to throw money down the drain.

Absolute joke, 40 year Gold member apparently and they put our H and C policy up from $123pm to $240pm and when I questioned it as no claims or anything, the supervisor said they have done a risk assessment on the area and that's why it changed. She wouldn't or couldn't tell me what the risk is (no rivers or water anywhere) and it is the new Aura estate, which we lived in before about a 2 minute walk from our new place, they are just money grabbing. The Gold and Silver membership means nothing

Do NOT buy RACQ car batteries, I've had 1 die a full month before warranty and another 48 HOURS after warranty. They couldn't care less, wouldn't come help me unless I paid to sign up even though it's their battery. Call centre staff have no empathy what so ever and in a situation like this a little empathy goes a long way, it's not even hard to do.
RUDE AND BELITTLING
The road side assistance man was extremely rude and patronising. I needed a diagnosis on my car as I had no clue where to start to get the situation handled and the man who came was not one bit helpful, was there for about 2 minutes and was straight up rude. I was shocked and taken back by his tone and how he belittled me. Never again. So disappointing

I have been a member for 29 years. On Friday the 21st of June my husband and I were towing our caravan with our 4x4 when it broke down on the side of the hi-way. We were 67km from home. I rang the RACQ to organise a tow truck, I was told it could take up to 90
minutes. After 90 minutes they rang
me back to say they would not tow us as now our 4x4 was too big. (They have towed us before and it wasn't too big then.) so we were left on the side of the hi-way to organise our own towing. And in future we will have to go up to the RV level if we want cover. So thank you very much RACQ

For many years, my wife and I have been members of RACQ, 'Ultra' with 'Roadside Assist'. Yesterday, Friday 21st June '04 at the intersection of Bermuda St and West Burleigh Rd in Burleigh Waters , the engine of my car stopped working in the middle of the intersection whilst commencing to turn north into Bermuda St Burleigh Waters. Fortunately, a truck driver travelling East in West Burleigh Rd turned his vehicle left to block the East bound traffic and he with another ran to assist with a young lady joining in pushing the vehicle into the West side of Bermuda St. From this location I rang RACQ and after much pressing of buttons, then with this sixth button pressed I arrived and I was advised that I would be required to pay a fee of $155 to be towed home
This I agreed to and a truck arrived in about 15 minutes. A total lapsed time of some two + hours ! Advice was given is that a claim can be made for return of th $155.
What a disappointed long time member, Pay all of the fees and for what 'SERVICE' ? Disappointed.

What a customer care ended the conversation when I asked for another customer service representative.

I was a loyal member for approximately 16 years (with some gaps in between when I didn't own a car).
Their service used to be exemplary, the staff always polite and helpful, thorough and the prices were great with good discounts and benefits.
This has changed. After my last experience with RACQ I will be changing providers. I had my car lose power and blow white smoke whilst on the highway which forced me to pull over. I drove approximately another 8 minutes to find a safe place to park.
After exiting the highway, I pulled over onto a large side road next to a bike lane, in a 60km/hr zone.
I received a call from one of the staff who was to attend. After hearing the fault his attitude was there's nothing we can do you'll need it towed.
Approximately 10 minutes prior to his arrival, I checked my oil and noticed it was on low (L). So I poured oil in to top it up. He then arrived, checked the oil, and said it was overfull, didn't attempt to diagnose or even turn on the vehicle, or use any device on the vehicle and called a tow truck, after speaking to me like I was a child and telling me where I had to stand. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
I then observed that the tow truck had the fault listed as "oil overfull". which was incorrect. I logged a formal complaint, and was then erroneously told that the service man was all correct that the error was "most likely" my car burning off excess oil as the cause of the smoke on the highway!!
I'm disgusted with this company. Honestly disgusted with the condescending, disrespectful attitude and slack service. I recommend you AVOID, or if you do go with RACQ, if you have such rude staff attend ask them to leave and have another staff member attend, I'm very disappointed in this as RACQ used to be such a stellar company with such great support. Now it's just fallen to the same money hungry slack attitude that lots of other companies have.
