I purchased a $40 physical album from Bandcamp. They sent me an email receipt with my correct delivery address, but then they sent it to the courier with completely the wrong address! The only thing they got right was my name, city and country! Their incompetence is astounding!
I tried to contact them directly with no avail!

If this is how they treat customers, then how on earth do they treat artists?!!

Bandcamp are woefully incompetent. Once they get your money they then stop even trying to fulfil their customers orders! SHOCKING!

I used them for a month, but then someone "bought" my music for $100, even though I'd disabled payments as thoroughly as I knew how. So I deleted my music and went back to alonetone.com, which has no payment system. True story. I'm giving them 4 stars anyway, because the only thing that's REALLY wrong with them is that there are too many people using it, and your music can get lost in the crowd. Thanks for the $100 who-ever-dude; if I was still young I'd have bought a half-sheet of acid or a flanger or something. Instead I bought adult diapers. (jk, for now)

I have used bandcamp for several years but I honestly hate it. I get the whole independence for artists thing, which I am for but the whole site just annoys me. It's a marketplace but people can follow you as a fan, which you don't ask for, so it's like a media platform too? But you can't message anyone or chat. You can't even block other followers.

The homepage is utterly annoying, forcing their recommendations with interviews and music which, again... I never asked for, as costumer service doesn't feel the need to respond?? But they seem to change their homepage 50 times a day???

The interface is boring and the search engine is poor and not user friendly. Some music is really good but most songs are just garbage.

Everyone seems to be so incredibly happy with BC but it's just a boring marketplace where everyone is trying to sell their music by standing at different corners just ignoring each other.

My son ordered a cd and never received it.

It’s not like some of the positive reviewers experience being a great experience and them wondering why there’s all these negative reviews - wake up! Bandcamp simply doesn’t work at all. It’s in effect a gimmick to give you hope, and all you end up with is a mirage.

I spent £100 on a gift voucher for my son's birthday. You have to open an account in order to do so. It would not send to my son's email and you are given the option to try again which I did. It still didn't reach him and they have given me £100 credit to spend on an account I didn't want in the first place. I have tried contacting the company several times to ask for a refund but there is no response. Avoid.

No respect for paying customers and time that they spend creating orders. On seller in particular (Suara Records) would not reply to me and I never received a large order after 6 months waiting. I had to manually go through over 12 single items and fill out information for my overall refund.

Time wasters and take no responsibility for vendors under their name. No review system so it is always a risk ordering.

I can only imagine the amount of business they have lost due to not o biding to simplistic rules. Horrible customer service.

Absolute Rubbish
Basically the player is trash. You can't even delete a track or album after purchasing or adding to your collection. Just imagine downloading one wrong album with 100 sh£tty tracks. One wrong click basically rendered the whole site useless for me.
No customer support to boot.
All in all, wish I had spent my money elsewhere.

I've used Bandcamp extensively over the past 2 to 3 years as a music fan, building a decent collection. I stream daily and was fairly happy with their APP experience overall.

While trying to purchase, out of no where my credit card began being rejected about 8 days ago, so I attempted to switch to a second card..then a third. These were also both rejected. I trouble shot and confirmed the payment issues were definitely on Bandcamp's end, not mine.

I've written to Bandcamp support and included screen shots and detailed feedback and am yet to hear back. There is no record of my message. I'm writing here to confirm that what others have said about there being serious issues with Bandcamp support is true.

I find it hard to accept that a company as big and profitable as Bandcamp does not have really decent customer service. Prior to using Bandcamp I ordered almost all my music from Boomkat in the UK and I only switched as I find streaming via APP an easier and better experience than using a traditional mobile based music player.

If my ability to purchase music from the artists I like isn't resolved by Bandcamp in the next 2 days I will download my collection and move away from Bandcamp as a matter of principal.

Scam - stole my money unable to stream anything. Useless app.

En grymt bra websida för att enkelt beställa skivor från nya artister. Trevlig och bra support som guidar och hjälper till om det blir strul. Suveränt samarbete med paypal. Rekommenderar helhjärtat!

Im Dezember 2022 eine Vinyl LP bestellt und bezahlt ( Push - Scope ) sollte bis spätestens April 2023 geliefert werden. Nie erhalten, keine Rückmeldung auf eMails, nichts.

Nachtrag: Artikel ist heute 30.08.2023 geliefert worden.. Kein Kommentar

Ein Album auf Vinyl bestellt, aber nie angekommen.

I have been a regular Bandcamp user for years and never had a bad experience.

I use it to order physical products and downloads.

It's awesome to have such a wide range of digital download formats - WAV, FLAC, MP3 in either VBR or 320kbps, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, ALAC, AIFF to choose from, and SO EASY to choose between, (and so simple & fast to download too)!

Your purchases are then stored in your library, so it's easy to download them again if something happens to your files. There's also the Bandcamp mobile app now - which I haven't really used as it doesn't suit my listening habits, but it looks great.

I love that I can buy a physical CD or Vinyl and INSTANTLY get the download!

Bandcamp is also a great way of keeping up with bands & artists I follow (I choose to always get an email when they add a new release or merch), which saves me trawling through so much social media (and ensures I don't miss any limited editions - I have friends who don't use Bandcamp who have missed out on things because they didn't see it amongst all the clutter on Facebook or wherever)!

I also respect them for their regular Bandcamp Fridays where they give up their commission for the day and allow the artists to keep 100% of their earnings. Even on normal days, their level of commission is much lower than selling via some other websites, (if you've ever tried to sell your music on Amazon you'd be shocked at the size of the chunk they take).

I know some people have had the odd bad experience with orders arriving late or occasionally not at all, (never happened to me), but that's not down to Bandcamp, it's the artists or labels that actually ship your stuff, (and it can take what seems a long time as American artists are usually shipping from the USA; Australian from Australia, and so on, which can take time itself, then there's customs clearing time too).

If you're in any doubt about buying physical products, pay by PayPal and you'll be covered under their Buyer Protection scheme.

Personally, I can't fault them at all, and just wish more artists were on Bandcamp!

I have ordered an album, 2 months later suddenly I see the album is tagged as "delivered", contact them and they argue with me I received the order.

Afterwards, I had to contact the post office and what not and PROVED not only that I didn't receive the package, but it was SENT BACK TO THE SELLER AND THE SELLER PICKED IT UP!

Since then they refuse to answer any of my email or refund me, also the seller do not give any feedback WHATSOEVER!

Avoid that website, I would upload screenshots here if I could to prove it, those are 100% s c a m m e r s !

I just bought a digital album and everything went well.

Take your money, then don't fulfil your order, when you try to contact them, they mess you around. I won't be dealing with them again, as far as i'm concerned they are rip off merchants.
