21 augustus aten we rond 18:00 uur in een café op Schiphol. Mijn man nam kip saté, ik een wrap met kip. Die nacht, om 03:00 uur, kreeg hij hoge koorts en hevige diarree. Na twee dagen moesten we naar het ziekenhuis, waar hij direct infusen met antibiotica kreeg. Zijn CRP-waarde bleef stijgen en er dreigde sepsis. Uiteindelijk lag hij meer dan een week in twee verschillende ziekenhuizen en kreeg hij zware behandelingen.

Onze vakantie was verloren, we hadden extra hoge kosten en na ontslag kon hij nauwelijks lopen. We kwamen pas 2 september terug naar huis.

Ik heb nu heel veel vragen over de hygiëne in dit restaurant en over het toezicht vanuit Schiphol.

⚠️ Mijn advies: eet hier niet als u uw gezondheid en vakantie niet wilt riskeren.

Was 1 keer nooit weer

Was 1 keer nooit weer. Voor rokers wordt je betutteld er geen eens 1 plek waar dit kan, helemaal als je lang moet wachten. Bemoeizuchtig vliegveld

Best goed vliegveld alleen mag de beveiliging wel wat vriendelijker

Op zich best een goed vliegveld nooit echt problemen gister echter kwam mijn koffer stuk aan dus ik ging naar de incheck bali van klm moest ik niet wezen moest terug naar bagage banden alleen mag je daar niet meer naartoe dus vragen aan de beveiliging en daar gaat het niet zo best niet vriendelijk niet behulpzaam toch eindelijk te horen waar ik moest wezen daar stond een rij van hier tot Maastricht dus denk ff snel vragen maar ze lopen zo weg dus schiphol doe wat aan die beveiligings mensen ik had na 3 dagen vliegen geen geduld meer om er moeite voor te doen met vriendelijke groet marco

One star for terrible flight delay communication

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Schiphol Airport. Our flight was scheduled to depart at 14:15 — it's now 14:32 and counting, and the departure board still says “on time.” Meanwhile, the airline’s own app already shows a delay of over two hours.

There’s no announcement, no update at the gate, and no staff providing information. Passengers are just left waiting and guessing — no transparency, no respect for people’s time. This is not the level of service one would expect from one of Europe’s major airports.

Total chaos and zero communication. Extremely disappointing.

Drama schiphol…hoe is dit toch allemaal mogelijk in Nederland

Bij aankomst laten ze ons bijna 15 min in het vliegtuig zitten, er was geen grond personeel aanwezig. Erger nog de airco mag niet aan nieuwe regel. Daarna nog ruim 110min op de koffers wachten. Weet niet waar we mee bezig zijn maar maak dit nergens in de wereld zo extreem mee als hier. Enkele honderden mensen klagen steen en been! Bedankt Schiphol heerlijk thuis komen!

Delayed luggage - Split pack

Split flight Birmingham to Schiphol then on Quito. My luggage did not arrive in Quito (at least 20 other customers also missing their luggage). KLM said they would deliver my luggage 2 days later to a hotel. I was travelling into the Amazon so this would be impossible to deliver so I said I would collect the next evening from the airport. We were told the luggage would arrive on the 8.30 pm (approx) flight. Mine was the only piece of luggage that arrived on that flight. The app does not work and is not updated. No phones are answered.
First days holiday, used 3.5 hours and a 60 dollar taxi ride. I only requested reimbursement for the taxi - refused.
Split pack if two are going away as this seems to be a regular problem with KLM/Air France/Schiphol airport.

Ibis schiphol, amazing hotel

Ibis schiphol hotel is an amazing hotel, free shuttle bus that is frequent. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The rooms are warm, clean never had a problem.
The food is really nice The burger bar on second floor is amazing.
Decking area with stunning views.

Only two immigration booths on the…

Only two immigration booths on the departure side, clearly not enough for one of the largest airports in Europe, takes between 45 minutes to one hour to get your passport stamped. Terrible service.

Stupid Nonsense rules

Since when you have to go through baggage security check between 2 connected flights?? Yesterday we were forced to throw away all the drinks we had bought at the airport and the ones we got on the plane before boarding our last plane. This is such a stupid things as all the drinks where bought/got after the first security check! Felt like they just wanted people to spend more money and by more drinks. Not to mention the long queue (after 12h flights) and the several workers that were just standing doing nothing!!

Avoid Schipol if you can

Travelled through Schipol twice en route to a recent holiday in Finland during December 2024. Passport Control queue (coming from non-Schengen to Schengen) was long. We had to speak to the staff member due to our short transit time the first time and we were luckily shepherded to the beginning of the queue. The second time we had even less transit time and used the diplomatic queue (which we were entitled to use) and basically went to the front so made our connection.

Immigration/passport control had 2-4 staff on when we came through early and mid morning. Plenty of booths but minimal staff. It makes no sense giving the throughput of passengers. When people have complained, repeatedly on Google reviews the Airport staff reply and say complain directly to Dutch Immigration. Pathetic response and complete blame shifting considering they are the overall organisation managing the site.

In terms of our departure gate for yesterday's flight (D7) the only positive was it has toilets. The vending machine was broken (the cafe queues were so long we didn't have time to stop) and the airline/secuirty staff seemed to think that unlike other much more efficient airports, calling boarding zones and only then checking boarding passes and passports was the right time to do it. Meanwhile elsewhere airline staff call passengers before the boarding call, do that check, stamp your boarding pass and when boarding is called passengers can board without delay. Not Schipol. Oodles of staff but unnecessary delays. We were 40 mins delayed getting off the ground.

I will avoid transiting through Schipol in future. If this is Delta's best transit hub, in partnership with KLM, then God help them.

I can't believe the 5 star reviews. I have travelled extensively and Schipol was a shambles.
