Thank you for your feedback.

We’re really pleased to hear that you’re happy with the product, although we’re sorry that the ordering process wasn’t as straightforward as it should have been.
We have recently rebranded and moved across to a brand new website, and we’re continuing to work on making the whole process as clear and user-friendly as possible. Delivery charges can vary depending on the order total and delivery location, so these are calculated at the last stage of the checkout.
That said, we always aim to offer free delivery wherever possible and try to make delivery information clear on the delivery tabs on the website.

As discussed with you directly via email, the splitting you’ve highlighted is a natural characteristic of solid teak, often referred to as “checking.” Teak is a premium hardwood chosen specifically for outdoor furniture due to its durability and natural oil content. As it acclimatises to its environment, it will respond to changes in temperature and moisture, which can result in surface splits along the grain. These are very common, do not affect the structural integrity of the bench, and will not lead to rot or failure of the timber.

We did review the photographs you provided with our carpenters and confirmed that what you are seeing falls within normal expectations for this type of material. That said, we still offered, as a gesture of goodwill, to collect the bench and provide a full refund, even though the product was not deemed faulty.

This offer was accepted initially; however, you later advised that you wished to keep the bench and not proceed with the return. We, of course, respected that decision and cancelled the collection.

We always aim to be fair and transparent, and we will not leave any customer with a genuinely faulty product. In this case, we provided reassurance, expert assessment, and a goodwill resolution option.

Hi Michael,

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience, and we completely understand your disappointment.

This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologise that your order arrived in such poor condition. We want to reassure you that the item you received was not a returned product, but part of a recent shipment of new stock. Unfortunately, due to extended shipping times and unforeseen conditions during transit, a small number of items have been affected in ways we had not previously encountered, and regrettably, this was not identified before dispatch.

Whilst this is very rare for this to happen to our goods, we are actively reviewing our quality control processes and have already introduced additional measures to prevent this from happening again.

We are currently in contact with you to resolve this as quickly as possible and will ensure you are offered a suitable solution. Thank you for bringing this to our attention—we truly appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to put things right.
