Upway knocked it out of the ballpark

Upway knocked it out of the ballpark! It has been the very best online purchase experience I've ever had thus far. I was skeptical of their estimated delivery date because it seemed too fast. However, they managed to beat it by 24 hours. Simply exceptional!!!

Easy to buy and set up

Easy to buy and set up. As advertised. After purchase I did personalize the e-bike to fit me better. Trimmed the handlebars shorter and added an extension to the handlebars stem to sit me up more.

The e-bike is great to ride. As advertised.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I will admit that I was very anxious disassembling parts of an ebike, packing it as carefully as I could, and seeing it put in the back of a full FedEx ground truck. But your support all along the way was incredible. Everyone I talked to at your company was professional and reassuring. I can't say enough good things about your company.

An administrative, logistical, and managerial nightmare.

Upway mistakenly shipped me an additional e-bike that I never ordered. Two days before it shipped, I notified them that they were processing an order that had already been fully canceled and refunded, with no remaining purchase agreement. Despite that, they shipped the bike anyway.

After it arrived, I had to store a large boxed e-bike in my home for nearly three weeks while waiting for them to retrieve it. I also had to contact Upway a second time to inform them that I had received the extra bike, even though I had already warned them before it shipped.

Given the circumstances, I believed there was at least a legitimate question about my obligations under FTC rules regarding unordered merchandise. I nevertheless tried to resolve the situation cooperatively by offering to purchase the bike at a discounted price. Upway refused to make any offer. Instead, I received communications that included legal accusations and threats despite there being no factual basis to suggest I had done anything improper. That was especially disappointing considering my wife and I had just purchased two other e-bikes from them for approximately $2,300 each and had acted in good faith throughout the entire process.

On the positive side, the two bikes I actually purchased were an excellent value, and customer service promptly resolved a few minor issues. I also appreciate that they worked with my schedule when arranging pickup of the mistakenly shipped bike.

Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by management overshadowed those positives. Customers who act honestly and proactively should not have to bear the inconvenience of a company's administrative errors, nor should they be met with legal threats and accusations without any factual basis after proactively trying to help resolve the problem.

Because of this experience, I will be purchasing my next two e-bikes elsewhere and will be sharing my experience with friends, family, and coworkers.

(Edit: My FIRST communication to Upway about the bike being shipped in ERROR was on June 13, two days before the bike was shipped. I had done my duty and acted in good faith. The company never intercepted the bike, nor did they contact me about the error in shipment. This was administrative negligence at this point. I had to contact them a second time to notify them of the error in shipment, even though it is not my responsibility to monitor their logistical errors, but I did it out of good faith a second time.

Furthermore, the bike was canceled and refunded, with no contractual agreement in place 3 days before they shipped it. Thus their was no connection to the second bike ordered at the time the bike was shipped. Upway was also warned before shipping that they were shipping a canceled bike. Therefore, it would be for the courts to decide if Upway violated FTC law, and who retained ownership of the bike, not Upway. Nevertheless, I continued to act in good faith, allowing them to pick up the bike, even though their management made false and unfounded legal accusations against me. Separately, management also refused to negotiate any price for the bike with a customer who just acted in good faith and went out of his way to deal with Upway's administrative negligence.)

We understand these cases are of utmost importance and do our best to get them resolved as quickly as we can. We do appreciate you bringing the issue to our attention so that we could get it taken care of for you!
Upon reviewing this case, I can see that you had ordered two bikes and requested that one be canceled on the order before it was shipped. It does appear that there was a system error that resulted in the canceled bike being shipped alongside the other bike on the order. The bike was delivered on June 19th and our first communication from you confirming the incorrect delivery was received on June 27th.
This order is not covered by the FTC regulations mentioned above, as it was a shipping error that was originally part of your order and there were additional items included that were not canceled — It was not unsolicited merchandise.
In the communications that we received, you had indicated to Upway "I do not believe I have a legal obligation to return the bicycle, and I do not intend to do so." Since the bike is still considered to be property of Upway, we are obligated to take these intentions seriously.
Once the incorrect delivery was reported to Upway, our team worked swiftly to coordinate pickup and return shipping to get the bike back to our facility. The bike was picked up to be shipped back to Upway within a timely manner. (Initial email received 6/27, Scheduled pickup was confirmed 7/6).
Again, we are very sorry for the shipping error and the resulting frustration. We will be investigating the case internally to ensure that our shipping processes are updated to avoid any mistakes like this in the future, however we maintain that Upway acted in good faith to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

What an easy website to navigate and learn what you need to know before investing in a new bike! I had a great experience and am recommending Upway to everyone considering an ebike. I accidentally forgot my coupon and they helped me get it applied properly before it shipped. I will definitely purchase my next bike with them. Thanks for the great service, I adore my new bike!!

Great website, lots of information about the bike. Shipping was reasonable and the packaging was amazing, I received my bike in perfect shape. I was nervous about buying a bike without riding it first but I absolutely love my Scott voltage.

Great bike, quick delivery.

My bike was shipped right away and was in great condition when it arrived! Very happy with my purchase. The only tricky bit is that the assembly instructions are generic and not particular to the model, but I could find instructions for assembly online.

A Very Good Purchase Experience

1. Received a bike perfectly described and in good condition.
2. The information describing the bike on-line was very complete, describing components, battery life and odometer.
3. Updates on the packaging, shipping and expected date of arrival kept me informed .The bike arrived quickly and with documents that held necessary information on assembly and returns.
4. When returning the bike (nothing was wrong with it) there were very clear instructions on that.
5. The experience was good enough that I am willing to order another bike from Upway.

The bike was exactly as advertised

The bike was exactly as advertised. The price was very reasonable. The shipment came in on time and well packaged. While I have had some issues they are directly related to my learning curve with respect to the operation of the bike.

Good Communication Shipping was…

Good Communication Shipping was expensive packaging was good. The product was Ok but I am putting a new chain on and having to spend time adjusting the shifting. The gears are very inconsistent

Not Great…

Bike arrived with bent rotor, and and stripped fixing assembly. I contacted customer support and got zero help with the bike. Will think twice about recommending or being a repeat customer.

In times like this, we work with our riders and their local shop to repair any damage that may have been received during shipping, or was missed by our Technicians.

We recognize that our in house Technicians have the capacity to miss an issue prior to shipping out a bike, or an issue may appear down the line. Thus we provide a 12-month Limited Warranty with every bike we sell, to support our riders if ever a event like was to arise.

It was pretty good but the shipping was nuts - Fedex literally screwed it up, and told me it wouldn't be delivered about 10 mins before it WAS delivered.
Find a better delivery service; Fedex provides neither reliable tracking nor reliable delivery.
