My printer was not connected to my computer. They, although it took a long time, corrected the problem and verified the successful process. All is working quite well. Scammers. Contacted my gran after she had an issue with her printer being broken.

Told her its no fix no fee. Took over her computer using a remote desktop tool. But also installed a a secondary tool to allow them back door access at a later date.

Installed suspicious program that was similar to a program available on the HP website but had been modified.

Didn't fix the issue and then requested £99 via email.

Reported to ActionFraud.police.uk who have confirmed this is fraudulent activity

My father in law subscribed to a 5 year plan with Windrivertool for McAfee and drivers. Six months later they called him to say there was a problem with his laptop and he needs another subscription costing 250 pounds to fix it. They said McAfee wasn’t updating and only 4 or his 100 drivers were working. He had no apparent issues with his laptop. I checked McAfee and found it was working and updating. I spoke with them and they took over the laptop. They opened a terminal window and entered the “top” command. This listed the currently running processes. They proceeded to tell me that this demonstrated the problem. Whe I challenged this and said that this showed nothing to be concerned about, they accepted that there was no problem and apologised for the mix up.

This is very poor practice. Trying to bamboozle customers into buying something they don’t need. Would recommend avoiding.

Misleading information- they don’t explain what they are doing and when we asked for a refund they said they had charged £99 for technician services that were non-refundable. This was not explained before the process was initiated.

With Windrivertool.com, I was able to backup and restore my driver easily without any hassles.
