I have bought two high end lenses from Abe's so far. Despite hearing mixed reviews on this company, my experience so far has been very good.
Notably, Jennifer Smith went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the exact model import vs retail. Also she ensured personally that I received my Lens on time ! As I needed it for work.

Thanks for getting us genuine products at a fair price.

This company called after placing the order and said I had ordered a "non-warrantied" item and that if I wanted a warranty I needed to upgrade my order to an item that costs $250 more. I said I wasn't interested and he said the more expensive one included more items such as a lens hood and tripod mount (but he didn't say if the other one didn't include those). He also promised upgraded shipping. He stated that the the other one would take 10 days to get to me and if I upgraded he would give me 2 day fedex shipping.

I ordered this at 6:00am, he called at 9:00am and said I should get a tracking number before the end of the day. I waited until 5:30pm without a tracking number so I emailed them. They never replied but I got a tracking number about 15 min later. The tracking number was for the slowest ground shipping available.

I currently am still awaiting my item but from what the tracking number says, I still have 4 days to wait. The only reason it isn't a 1 star is because it was still 5% off retail but if I would have known, I would have gone with a different company for MANY reasons.

Bait and switch. List a lens online with a lower price than their competitors. Says In Stock. You order. Five minutes later they call you and tell you that it is not in stock and will take 8 weeks to ship. Then try and upsell you a higher priced version. After writing this review the manager called me to correct their wrong. She sent me the lens for the price advertised.

Jennifer in customer service is a pure professional. She cared about my experience from start to finish and ensured my late day order would get to me in time for my special events. Great savings and service. I couldn’t ask for more.

I originally left a 3-star review, but I’m updating it after a great experience. Customer service reached out to me, understood my issue, and refunded the difference as promised. I was surprised they followed up after almost a year and a half. Now I’m very happy, my trust is restored, and I’m giving 5 stars. I would definitely buy from them again.

I've been seeking a major upgrade to my outdated camera equipment, and the whole process has been both intimidating and expensive for me. I accidentally ordered the wrong lens on the Abe’s of Maine website. I called customer service right away and spoke with Ted.
He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I told him which lens I meant to buy and he fixed everything. He said the lens would ship out that day and it arrived at my house at noon today. I called Ted to inform him the lens arrived safely and as promised.
He was very humble. Thank you again Ted.

Great experience buying from Abe’s. Purchased my Nikon D7500 from Michael at Abe’s 3 years ago and today he assisted me with the lens upgrade that best suited my needs. Will buy from him again
