Ms. Jennifer Smith helped me to purchase a lens from Abes of Maine. I wanted to know what the prices difference between Abes and a competitor. She explained what the differences were in the warranty. She let me know why Abes charges less aand what was included and not included. And she even upsold me to a version that cost more but I understood why and I did not mind paying more. She was very professional and most of all she was nice. As opposed to another Abes customer service agent who was mean, did not want to answer question just. He just wanted to make a sale. If it were not for Jen I would not have never bought anything else from Abes Again god bless Jennifer.

It’s been a while since I last visited, but they noticed my loyalty and upgraded my shipping and included some freebies for no charge. Maybe about 30 minutes after I had made my order online, I received a call from Michael from Abe's of Maine to verify that, yes, I was the one who made the order for a new camera and lens. In part because I was having the camera speed to my place of employment instead of my house. He also verified with me about the purchase and have me some additional options.

I was blown away by the personal attention that I received. This was my first purchase through Abe's of Maine, so I want expecting personalized attention like that. I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

Michael at Abe’s of Maine really made my day. When missed a a call from him the morning after making a purchase I was expecting bad news like the product was out of stock or something negative. Instead, I had entered my address incorrectly, and Michael corrected it expeditiously. He also helped with expediting my shipment and upgrading my order to get the necessary accessories. Abe’s of Maine is a great company with a an excellent sales team. I wish I knew about Abe’s a long time ago.

I placed an order for a Canon RF lens, but didn't realize I had purchased the import model. Michael called me to confirm I had placed the order and also to confirm whether I actually wanted the import model (as opposed to the retail kit). He helped me change my order so I was getting the lens kit I intended to purchase. Michael was super helpful and kind and he helped me avoid a situation where I would have needed to return the lens. Thank you Michael for going above and beyond!

I’m giving this review 5 stars for the latter part of the experience, and not the former. If I could give the return person zero stars, I would. I purchased an expensive Sony telephoto camera lens 41 days ago, which I am now unable to focus in. I called to see if I could return it, and literally got yelled at by the return person, who asked me while listing them off to me, which camera stores I thought would let me return a camera over 30 days after purchasing. She was rude, aggressive, and grossly unprofessional. I was driving and drove into a rural area and started losing service, which in hindsight, I’m glad I did. I had no desire to listen to any more of her hateful rhetoric.
A little while later, I received a call from Jennifer Smith regarding the incident. I was rather surprised, as I felt I had just figuratively rolled down my window and thrown out $1689 for nothing by purchasing the lens and attempting to return it in barely over 30 days after the sale. She apologized for her subordinate’s bad behavior and rectified the situation in the best way possible. Jennifer was professional, kind, and extremely reasonable. I had easily made the decision to never use Abe’s again, but Jennifer came out of nowhere and changed my mind completely. She is the epitome of what customer service should be for any company.

I purchased a Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens. Shortly afterwords I received a call to confirm my purchase. At that point the caller, Michael, asked if I wanted the retail market lens instead of the import market lens. He informed me that the one I ordered would not have the tripod mount sleeve. He led me back to the listing on their website to see the difference. To be clear their website showed the lens WITH the tripod mount attched in the third picture representing what I was supposed to be purchasing. For several hundred dollars more I could receive what was pictured during the time of my original purhase. Very Bad Marketing Practice. Stay away from this crew.
