Company is fine, van a little small. Useful to find out whether we could get away with buying a camper or should we go for a caravan.

They were very helpful in answering all their questions. The pick up and drop off were very smooth. The staff were very helpful and knew what they were doing. Our trip had no issues at all. Everything worked smoothly. Highly recommended.

everyting was very good. thanks Apollo to make my great journey in NZ.

but 2 things I got in troubles in that journey.
1) it was quite confused where and when I could meet the shuttle. THL guys should make hotline in online for visitors. becuase for the holiday people, time is really important.
2) 2nd one is, inner heater(working with diesel's one) in campervan was broken. yes it was working when just did operating. but after 1~2 hours, it was stoppted. so our family went through freezing nightmare.

Apollo is part of a huge company, THL specialising in motorhome rentals for holidays etc. They cover Australia, USA and New Zealand the latter is where we hired our van.
We picked it up in Christchurch where the staff were very helpful and had upgraded us to a Maui large 6 berth. [note you may not need the extra size and say if your not happy or comfortable driving a big vehicle like that].
The receptionists advised us on what was covered under our selected insurance extras and what was not. [advise that you do your homework at the booking time and decide what cover you require I.e. insurance then don’t be swayed during pickup.]
We have been caravaners for many years so didn’t really require a detailed handover just the main points. [advise go through everything and test everything with the handover agent. Make sure your happy first]
The location was fabulous from Christchurch Airport we met a very nice driver in the Apollo/ Maui shuttle bus who whisked us away with lots of advice on where to go in the South Island. This is a free service and very welcome. [advise it is also free the other end/way to get to the Airport after drop off.]
We were doing the south and north island so hired the van for 21 days. This provides benefits from the company i.e. no additional 1 way fee and free 2nd driver [advise useful even just in case]
If you need anything don’t be afraid to ask as the staff were all very helpful making sure you were happy and ready for your travels.
[advise book in at a local campsite for the first night just in case you need their help advice the next morning after you’ve tried everything]

We visited New Zealand from Australia while staying with family there .Our first time in New Zealand also our first time in a Motorhome! 🤩
Fantastic experience from start to finish the van we had ( Mercedes sprinter) was immaculate & had everything needed and more. We downloaded the app Apollo recommended that had everything on it we needed with campsites,fuel stations supermarkets etc
Our daughter & son in law are already planning to return again next year - sadly we live in the UK so it will be a while until we’re back to Australia to visit them
The Team at Apollo were amazing so friendly & helpful I’m so glad we decided to explore New Zealand this way an amazing experience

We had a issue with the vehicle right at the start of the hire. The vehicle worked well post 2nd service. While we appreciate the service provider's promptness and services provided, what we are not happy about is the unpleasant experience with the support team as they felt that it was our mistake.
It did caused lot of mental harassment as the break-down happened twice and it is completely not appreciated. We got struck at Waitoma Caves in the middle of no where and then again fortunately at a Holiday Park.

Please appreciate that we were on a 2 week trip and any delay would have caused us lot of problems. We have paid premium prices but not happy with the vehicle.

Great way to travel. A bit more information on the what's and wherefores of the camper on the information sheet, but we found out along the way . Ellen gave us a good tour of van , very helpful and got her supervisor if she wasn't sure of something 🤔. The van did need a much better clean. Crumbs on seats and where mattress was situated. The windows had finger marks all over them. The fridge wasn't closed properly so was frozen and wet when we first stopped. Kiwi lady agreed that it was an issue?? Was a great way to try out a campervan.

The pick up and return process is smooth.

Quick and efficient check-in and return procedures. Van clean and full of equipment. We had a fault on the first day, but we returned vehicle and was fixed promptly and without fuss.

Vehicle broke down on 2d day. 4 hour wait then 150 km tow in wrong direction. 1.5 day lost time on vacation.

We picked up our campervan from the Hobart office and were very happy with how the staff explained and showed all functions of the campervan to us. We were very confident after leaving the office that we would be able to handle the campervan

A fun way to explore - convenience and flexibility for our itinerary was great!

Fantastic from start to finish

Apart from a considerable wait to be shown the van, everything else was great.

Van was ready on time. Checking in on line was helpful and positive and staff were great. Pickup was easy with all options offered. The vehicle was reasonably clean and relatively equipped for our needs. Mechanically it was trouble free. Everything worked as was expected. We felt there could have been more utensils, plates, bowls, linen etc instead of just 2 of each item. The vehicle return process was a smooth and positive experience.

Received an upgrade to our van to include shower/toilet and aircon and am glad we did. Due to a flight change we had to pick up the van a day late and on arrival our van was not ready to depart. Questioned and was offered drop and go on completion of our trip which worked well.

Feedback on Our Campervan Holiday Experience:
The overall experience was great and we had a memorable campervan holiday trip. However, we would like to share the following feedback for improvement:
The staff member (an oriental lady whom we met on 2nd May during vehicle collection) appeared impatient and did not provide a proper handover of the vehicle. She repeatedly mentioned that she had other customers to attend to, although there were no other physical customers waiting at that time. Her body language and attitude did not reflect good customer service standards. This feedback is shared in the hope that she can improve her future interactions with Apollo Motorhome customers, as first impressions are very important to any company.
The campervan was quite shaky, noisy, and vibrated a lot during the journey. Unfortunately, this affected the overall comfort and smoothness of the ride.
On a positive note, we returned the vehicle on 11th May and met a very friendly staff member. This was commendable and made the return process comfortable and pleasant for us.
