Booked for a family meal to celebrate my wifes 70th birthday at the Winnersh branch. Arrived at 7pm & were shown to our table. We ordered drinks & food. At 7.50, before we had finished our main course, we were told it was last orders at the bar as they were having a belated staff Christmas party. No mention of this was made when we booked, when arrived or when they took our orders. We were allowed to order desserts but were told no coffee was availanbe as they had switched off the machine. We were made to feel unwelcome so finished our meal as,quickly as possible and left. No apology was made. Subsequent complaints via their web site have been met with AI generated responses.
Give the premium prices they charge for OK food, this service was totally inacceptable.
Will not use again if this is how they treat customers. They spoilt what waa supposed to be a special evening.

It is such a shame that one particular staff member (manager I am led to believe) couldn’t manage to get himself out of a wet paper bag and charged for a sauce that he was told was really bad and just replied ‘oh’ but still charged for it

After approaching the rude man in charge we were dismissed and called liars about her comments.

If I could rate this as a minus I would !!. Absolutely disgraceful. No food prepared or ready supposed to be all you could eat breakfast. The excuse was they had more customers than they had prepared for! Really? Apart from our party of 6 there was only 4 people in the place !. Pounced on to pay up front as soon as we walked through the door
Shame there was no food ready ! Having to be told we had to wait was poor service.

Food served on cold plates, xs portion of sides, great staff shame abt the rest, glorified beefeater

After a meal out with my family, I felt like I had to leave a review. Not one plate of food was made with care. All the plates of food came out cold the vegetables were dried out from sitting in a hot cupboard or under hot lights too long. The people who had the hake were treated to rubbery over cooked scallops that looked like they had been microwaved because they had definitely not seen a pan. The lobster was so dried out that all the butter produced in the UK poured on top couldn't have rehydrated it. It looked worse than a packet of bachelor's super noodles. Their actual hake was drier than ghandis flip flops, the sea food bisque had a skin on it and looked like puree carrots. So all the diners who had steak left their chips as they were all cold the people who had the roast dinners said the beef was stone cold and the veg was dried out and the small jug of gravy was no only cold it was absorbed by the rest of the dehydrated meal. The conclusion is your chefs don't give a crap what they send out because they haven't been trained properly or you've hired a bunch rejects for the job centre who looked fresh out of prison. I've had better food in weatherspoons, so your standard of cooking is lower than a bunch of ding chefs in a bargain basement pub.

We had a warm and friendly welcome as usual when we arrived.
The service was quick and friendly.
The food was excellent .
Atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming.
The manager is such a friendly and accommodating member of staff.

Food was great staff had great customer service was served by Jordon who was very helpful would definitely recommend going had Sunday dinner

Bar & Block Reading. Very basic menu and overpriced food. Beer would not keep its head, I’m not surprised when I saw inside of the bottom of the glass - filthy black deposits.

First time to Bar + Block in Winnersh today and won’t be the last! Staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble , also great gluten free options.

Went to bar and block in Wimbledon after signing up to get the 25% off offer clearly advertised on the website for new customers. Upon arrival the waiter was extremely rude and said we couldn’t use the offer

The worst meal I've been for in a very long time. From start to finish service poor food poor. Stood waited to be seated for over 15 minutes, seated drinks taken, worst attempt at a Hugo spritz ever. Then food ordered, food comes out an hour later - steak was so tough and inedible, my friends was still mooing. Don't get me started on the pepercorm sauce paying an extra £2.50 and it was about 10ml of sauce, embarrassing to be served it never seen something so ridiculous. The mash was 5/10. Will not be returning ever & will be telling people to avoid the Portsmouth bar & block at all cost what a waste of money.

Service was fantastic from Jess, attended to our every need, friendly and polite along with the rest of the staff.

Steak was absolutely amazing 👏 cooked to perfection. Had a amazing meal.

We go to the Winnersh branch for breakfast really cannot complain about anything the Manager is a very friendly and his staff are so hard working food come out excellent as you ask for the restaurant is very clean well done bar and block

Cocktails are amazing, and even better on 2 for 1. Food is mediocre at best. £20 gets you a dry shop bought bun, with two slices of flavourless beef brisket and a handful of chips. The chips were nice to be honest. Service left a lot to be desired, we almost asked for the service charge to be taken off but we didn't want to be rude to the young girl trying to do her job.

A great, solid, old-fashioned Full English breakfast — the kind that makes you feel like you could chop wood, run a marathon, and still have energy left to argue about the weather.
No fancy avocado sidekick, no sprinkling of chia seeds, and no posh herbs posing on top of your bacon. Just the real deal: a delicious, hearty breakfast that fills you up for the day. And then… the magic word: Bottomless. At that moment, I think I slipped into a parallel dimension called Happiness.

But the true star of the morning wasn’t the sausage or the bacon — it was the young lady working the floor. She somehow managed to seat customers, take orders, and deliver food (again and again for the bottomless folks) all with charm, easygoing enthusiasm, and enough time to share a few friendly words. That’s how you build loyal customers… one smile, one plate, and one more helping of toast at a time.

When I went to pay card was declined
Tried other card declined tried 3 time same again in the end payed with cash on checking bank statement few days later noticed payment taken for meal same day card was declined
Went in today to explain what had happened had receipts of proof and was told they know there is a problem with card machines offered to take deserts of the bill just to make people aware of this scam always keep declined receipts and check statements

Really nice meal but didn’t understand the symbol on the burger, glad I’m not Jewish

Had food in there Bath site. Ordered chicken wings four come on a plate with no garnish for around £7 extortionate. Then had the fillet steak that come again with just some green garnish on the steak don’t know what it was. For £31.50 you would expect at least a mushroom and onion rings. Won’t be back
