I have newly joined the leisure centre in St Austell and it has new equipment. The induction was very thorough and the member of staff, very knowlegable.

Excellent gym and swimming pool
Excellent gym and swimming pool. Especially Mrs Tash Coon on reception, who had to overcome some difficulties with an outdated computer system, but did it with a smile, professionalism and a positive attitude. Thanks.

Overall it’s a decent gym
Overall it’s a decent gym. Fair size and varied equipment. Not a bad price for the gym and pool combined usage. Adult users all seem polite and well mannered with the equipment but the kids that are allowed in to get off the streets till 5:30pm are really annoying unfortunately. I don’t want to be negative at all but they are the only negative and a big one. Really disruptive at times, noisy and loitering around equipment in large groups messing about. I get the reason behind them being allowed in and it’s probably a minority but I feel they need better supervision and need to be shown how to use the equipment better.

St Austell Leisure Centre
So pleased that I have joined our local centre through the Healthwise route. All information provided and guidance is amazing. Total support from one of the team at the beginning of my journey.
All staff very welcoming and the premises are so clean.
I totally enjoy watching the squirrels out the back of the gym in the little garden, makes me smile and takes the pain away lol.

The gym in St Austell shuts the male…
The gym in St Austell shuts the male changing rooms between 1630 and 1730hrs daily.
This forces me to use the swimming changing rooms and is degrading as this is not a process females have to follow.

Staff are always very friendly
Staff are always very friendly, pool is a good temperature (on the cooler side 👍🏻) and the showers hot 😀
The changing rooms could do with a freshen up, but I fully understand that in the current environment that isn’t so easy to fund for a charitable organisation.
All good, I use the pool 2 to 3 times a week now and I’m starting to feel the benefit !

Great customer service
Great customer service, glad they retain some human to human interaction on reception. Good selection of classes and the gym is good. Only thing is it would be good if they had a gym only membership.

An amazing choice for fitness
The facilities are all very clean and tidy, the staff are very helpful and friendly. A great place to go to for fitness and wellbeing.

Its with a heavy heart that l write this review , as the staff are always friendly and professional .
Sadly ,the condition and cleanliness of the Club is disappointing and falls well below the standard l would expect .
The Gym floor on my visit didn't look as if it had been hoovered or brushed , gym equipment is nearly always dirty .
The changing room at wet area of swimming pool is so dirty , this could be because of heavy usage but it needs to be monitored .
Children need to be supervised as one young boy aged around 13/14 yrs old pushed my changing room door open deliberately as l was getting undressed . to go to pool . l spoke to him but he was cheeky to me .
The poolside shower and tiles at the entrance to the pool are in need of repair ?
In the Yoga class the fire alarm was set off twice but no announcements was made to explain what was expected of the instructor or the members ? We didn't know whether to stay or leave ?
l do love using this gym and l hope these issues can be addressed please ?

We are truly sorry to hear that your recent experience at The St. Austell Leisure Centre fell short of the high standards we strive to maintain. The cleanliness of the gym floor and equipment, as well as the condition of the flooring, do not reflect our usual level of care.
Please be assured that your concerns regarding the supervision of children and the need for repairs to the poolside shower tiles have been passed on to the centre manager for immediate attention.
Thank you for sharing this with us as it will help us to improve.
Gates don’t work
Gates don’t work, or atleast I don’t think they do. Since signing up to the gym I have not once scanned anything or booked it anything. Just walk straight though. Dated equipment, small too.

Great place
Great place. Excellent monthly price (price for gym,swim and sessions cheaper than most monthly gym sessions elsewhere), staff super friendly and helpful. All ages, sizes and types of people in gym so not intimidated! Love it.

Often unable to log into app. Bookings not showing in app. My first swimming lesson was cancelled but no one contacted me so I attended. Card payment taken and direct debit.

St Austell Leisure Centre At Austell leisure centre is the nicest…
At Austell leisure centre is the nicest of all of the group I have been too. The staff are really friendly the centre is so clean, especially the gym and dry changing room . Swimming pool is also nice , although lane swimming can be very busy and fast swimmers tend or go in the slow lane also, and that is stressful for slower swimmers as we can feel that we are in the way , so it’s better to pick a quieter time to swim , not between 4pm and 6pm for sure , as less pool area for swimming. Other wise all is really nice .

VERY FRIENDLY, WELCOMING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF
I signed up today at my local centre St Austell and I could not have been made to feel more at ease and welcomed by the lovely receptionist there.
Not only did she answer all my questions and concerns, she went above and beyond to take away any anxiety that I had about joining somewhere new, plus she talked me through the most suitable sessions, days and times for my current needs.
I have now come away feeling very positive and excited, looking forward to starting my new journey.
