So called manager thought I was giving her a compliment at Bramley store.

I wasn't giving her a compliment she classes herself as a trader. Apparently each store manager has different stock in. It's a bit far to travel to do a bit of shopping at this moment in time. What's advertised is not always in each store.

All I was going was making a comment regarding the amount of stock in as Armley and Stanningley hasn't had much stock in even though larger stores.

Reply back to Heron Foods a complaint has gone in regarding replying to messages on Trustpilot. Today 17th July 2026 my original message on Trustpilot was 16th May 2026 two months out of date

Use Heron on Birley Moor Road and have always been satisfied with food and service. I've just been in store where staff have gone beyond their normal service. Helpful and friendly. Well done Heron staff

avoid , bad staff , customer service no help

I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about?
My local Heron is lovely, the staff are great and the process are cheap.
I wouldn't go anywhere else

Just been to one of your stores,
And some good deals at the moment.
So wanted some bacon which I got,
Wanted mushrooms and most of the packages was split open on what’s left of the mushrooms.
In the mushrooms was mostly compost and unfortunately these are from Poland.
I wouldn’t have bought if I had know.
However most of them wasn’t any good some was mushy and threw the whole tub away.

I’ve never known a shop where the staff are able to make personal phone calls whilst serving customers. Not only is it very rude but also very unprofessional.

Multiple times staff engage in private conversations over the headset while "serving" customers on the till. I find this very unprofessional and rude and dismissive of the customers. Customer service is non existent.

This place is much like any other b and m store ! Cheep and low quility but thats why we go there .
What i dont like is the BAD ATTUDE COMMING FROM MOST OF THE STAFF .
if you dont like your job get a new one .
This evening i shoped and met a rude ignurant woman on the till who over charged me, i challanged her got a paper recipt throne at me and she turned her back .
If she worked for me she would be out the door .
She got what for from me i can tell you .
Obvoulsy a unhappy person .
You need to get a life .

Excellent service and exceptional value on a budget
They have ceased stocking a quality brand of sliced cheese which is still available in B&M stores for some reason at £1.75 a pack

Apart from that great discount and a smile from staff

Always love to find a good deal in herons friendly staff and helpful

I used to shop at Waitrose and marks and Spencers but decided to go into my local heron foods and how impressed I was
Large Tropicana apple £1.50 which is over £5 in Waitrose . £1.25 luxury toilet roll and best of all my favourite rustlers rib for £1.80 . Goodbye Waitrose and marks and Spencers heron foods for me now . With the money I can save I can put some extra fuel in my Porsche
The staff were also welcoming and looked like they belonged on a business class flight as aerostesses. 5 stars for me heron I will be back next week

Love shopping here in Hedon near Hull, you always get different things on offer. The only thing that dissapoints is the checkout staff, I asked for a carrier bag, he scanned the bag and didn't ask if I wanted any help with my packing, he could have been packing after scanning, then, to add insult to injury, starts scanning the next persons shopping before I've finished packing and as my mother has dementia, she thinks those items are ours and starts picking them up, I said, If you'd have packed them for me I would have been gone by now, he said, we aren't allowed to pack them unless you tell us to, I said I wouldn't TELL you to pack them, I would ask and some people would be reluctant to ask for help, I think your staff should ask if people need any help packing or at least wait for them to finish their packing before starting on the next customer. Very poor customer service indeed.

You must have honest polite staff.to gain respect

I bought a bag of frozen stew from my local Heron this was produced by Pinnacle foods of Alton.
At least 25% of it was cubed fat, not good at all. I contacted Pinnacle foods directly in September to advise them and prevent a negative review. Also sent photos.
The young lady said thanks and would sort it out. No word back at all sent three follow up emails nothing.
So here goes do not buy this product poor quality as well as value I would also not risk the mince. Heron needs to quality control it's range and suppliers better.

Can stanton hill heron please stop over charging for reduced food. Sick of it now, nearly every time I go in. Get charged reduced price, and then original bar code scanned again. No apology. Wasting my time and robbing me. Will consider getting trading standards involved if it persists, as this is fraud.

I have now stopped going in here as Mr heron is robbing the working man as an example I used to buy the odd item ie luxury coleslaw was £1.45 now £1.75
The exact same product is £1.29 in home barging
If home barging can make a profit when their rent/staff wages /utilities bills etc are at least ten fold what herons are what is Mr heron making while sat in his villa in the Bahamas daylight robbery he should be in court in front of a judge for extortion please boycott this criminal my friend has just been in for 2lt of semi skimmed milk they have now put this up to £1.60 daylight robbery as farmfoods charge £3.00 for 3x 2lt or £2.50 for 2x 2lt I cannot understand why people still shop here and pay these extortionate prices the lovely assistant on the checkout said even though she is allowed a dicount she does not shop there not hard to work it out do you not realise you are being robbed it is theft STOP LINING THE POCKETS OF THIS CRIMINAL
Ps also have been overcharged on a couple of occasions once put my card back in to be refunded got home to realise I had been debited again not credited eventually got it sorted

New store in Byker Newcastle
The staff are nice but all young and must have had no training,
Putting reduced stickers on top of fresh food but leaving the old bar code uncovered so till staff are charging the original price as they have had no training either, Advertising meal deals but one item missing so can not be bought. ASDA just up the road most things the same price and better quality so will not be going back.

I like going to the heron foods store at Staveley with my one to one workers and I like to buy cans of Fanta fruit twist for £1.30 that is a good price and the staff are friendly and kind when they serve me and my support workers from one to one

Most of the staff are ok ( one stands out as exceptional ) but the manager is the most unwelcoming , miserable and obnoxious person I’ve met . .. she makes you feel as though you shouldn’t be their and I can’t wait to get out of the store , once I was a daily customer , now I only go when necessary .
