Lots of information on website. Decided on the big one, only two of us but lots of veg and fruit peelings, also a big garden for grass cuttings and twigs. Ordering and delivery were faultless.

Resposta da HOTBIN Composting
That’s exactly the kind of experience we hope for all our customers. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Took a while to get going but pleased overall
I got the Hotbin Mini last year in August for the balcony of my flat. It took a while to get it up to the right temperature to start hot composting, I think because I didn't have enough material to put in it just from my household of 2. This caused a minor problem for the first few months as the bin attracted fruit flies while it was under temperature. Now our neighbour also brings round his kitchen waste and with a bit more material and aerating the bin regularly it's been much easier to get it working. It's produced a couple of batches of compost and is working well. I find it often seems to be a bit below 40 degrees but still seems to be composting. I'd recommend getting some extra cam straps for the hatch as it easily bulges with just one.

This is really useful feedback, thank you for sharing your “real life” experience.
You’re absolutely right that HOTBIN works best when it has enough regular material going in, and a smaller household can take a little longer to build that active volume. Great solution getting your neighbour involved, community composting on a balcony is impressive!
Glad to hear it’s now producing compost and working well overall. And thank you for the note on the hatch straps too, we’ll pass that feedback on.
Delivered on time
Delivered on time, easy to set up and use. We are already getting liquid fertilizer from it!

This review made our day.
Fab to hear the guidance helped you feel supported while getting started, especially with something that can feel a bit new at first. We’re so pleased the clear instructions and practical support made the setup feel manageable.
Loved what you said about becoming more mindful with food waste. That’s one of the most rewarding parts of HOTBIN: seeing everyday scraps turn into something useful, and feeling like you’re making a small but meaningful difference!

Quality product
Quick delivery and good instructions. Nice quality product. Not set it up yet, my fault not theirs so can’t comment on the effectiveness as a composter yet.

Thanks for the feedback, quick delivery, clear instructions and quality product is a good start!
No judgement on the “not set up yet” part. Life, weather and cups of tea do have a habit of getting in the way. 😉
When you’re ready, we hope your HOTBIN gets cooking well.
Chelsea Flower Show Hotbin stand
I visited The Hotbin stand at the Chelsea Flower Show and I was reminded that I needed more wood chippings as my very busy worms were not altogether happy with a rather boggy compost they were living in!! I do believe that they are happier now. Very important to have happy worms. The Hotbin concept is such a good way to make compost in a small London garden and it's easy to maintain. That is all important to an Octogenrian albeit a sprightly one! Thank you!

Love this review - happy worms, happy life!
Thank you for visiting us at Chelsea and for such a lovely note. Glad the wood chippings have helped restore harmony in the HOTBIN, try adding a few handfuls of shredded paper if you have any - this can help reduce bogginess further if necessary. Great to hear it’s working well in your small London garden.

Great customer service team
I bought the hotbin online after the Chelsea Flower Show and it was delivered quickly as promised. Sadly, the product itself was not right for me and I have now returned it. Customer service was good although I had pay £40 for the delivery/collection. All round, service was very good. Thank you.
