A service that states they are there…
A service that states they are there for people but are not they just gather information from you then lie and make excuses so they don’t have to contact you again I am concerned for there mental health on the grounds of the way and behave towards society and how they constantly write negative remarks about people just be honest to people and tell them the truth like every other organisation you use for research
Very manipulative benefits adviser
Very mean on time, she wouldn't even spare 5 mins to approve what I wrote resulting in major inconvenience at the tribunal. My appeal was rejected as a result.
Alarming.
In today's society, the term "mental" is often used as an insult, reflecting a lack of understanding and empathy towards those struggling with mental health conditions. Surprisingly, even a reputed charity like Mind has not taken significant steps to campaign against the derogatory use of the word "mental."
One would expect a mental health charity like Mind to take a proactive stance against the derogatory use of the term "mental." However, their silence on this matter suggests a missed opportunity to educate and advocate for change. By standing up against the misuse of the word, Mind could contribute significantly towards reducing societal prejudice and discrimination.
Another alarming concern is the avoidance of individuals with mental health conditions by solicitors within the legal system. This practice highlights a deep-rooted bias that needs to be addressed urgently. People with mental health conditions deserve equal access to justice and legal representation without facing prejudice or discrimination.
Richard Hurst Operations Manager so rude
I used Mind Crisis cafe once, it seemed helpful, not been back recently, however, Richard Hurst, operations manager, avoids calls from the public, I feel that is really really rude of you Richard Hurst, he avoids emails also, so unprofessional and so very rude. Its like most charities only really want donations, but when they need to support the public with problems with mental health service they avoid doing anything at all. They are basically just an online website, much like the NHS, a glossy magazine website of how great they are, but the reality is far from the truth.
Very poor untrained and inappropriate…
Very poor untrained and inappropriate response on mindline. Rude and insulting.
Called Samaritans instead and received a first class service.
I am Male and Waited almost 2 months…
I am Male and Waited almost 2 months for a first phone call to talk about when I was sexually assaulted by a previous MALE G.P, so mind decided to send a gay man to council me over it, I just put the phone down, that is like getting a convicted rapist to counsel the rape victim. what are you playing at mind, do you people stop and THINK for one second
Shameful
I contacted on behalf of my mum she bipolar and we are facing homelessness after domestic abuse. A month we have been waiting on a call back. Its disgusting because this charity is meant to help with vulnerable people. There is ho help.
I do not trust this organisation
I do not trust this organisation. Especially the one in Littlehampton, West sussex. 10 Years ago - i was street homeless and psychotic. But their "support" involved me having me prosecuted when i left messages on the phone whilst in psychosis. They were not even trained to recognise, that i was off my rocker at the time.
In fact this "organisation" caused more harm then good to me. I refuse to deal with them.
Surprise surprise - 3 months later i was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Something they simply failed to pick up on. There response was calling the police on me. That was their "support".
Mind.. my number 1 go to for understanding mental health better.
Understanding Mental health is never easy or often explained clearly. Same goes for managing mental health illnesses. Mind covers almost every mental health condition in easily understandable detail from possible causes, symptoms, and self-help techniques to help manage these disorders and illnesses. Wether understanding your own condition or illness or that of a loved one Mind is extremely helpful when one needs to understand mental health better. Also due to the detailed information available at Mind it is also extremely helpful for those looking towards general self-education and understanding of mental health and our minds. Great Job 👏
Depression,anxiety,schizophrenia completely ignored
My husband who is a medic was diagnosed with depression and anxiety which resulted in him being 3 months off work and at the same time my mother who suffers from schizophrenia had a relapse due to negligence from an nhs mental health department who was supposed to monitor her switching to a different drug I also have a 5year old son (autistic) and a baby 6 months old. Turning desperately to Mind in my dire situation was the the worst thing I have done when seeking for help they did nothing at all and was completely ignored I filed a complaint. In the end I had no choice but to give up my job to take care of my family to support them and see to it they get better and do you know what it was the best decision I made as charity starts at home!can’t call this charity it’s a money making org.
MHFA Course booking
I had booked a Mental Health First Aider course with the charity. Course location was a totally different area (Barnsley, then Rotherham). Course details were sent 2 days before course, after having been advised they would be sent two weeks before course. Emails to the trainer and training department have not been answered. I have now contacted them and removed myslf from the course and asked for a refund. I will be arranging an online course instead with another provider. Whilst I understand Mind are a charity they should provide a professional service when dealing with course bookings etc.
Anyone donating money to this charity…
Anyone donating money to this charity should be aware that they don't actually help people who need it. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression last year and was referred to them. Their 'help' was in the form of a letter telling me if I didn't contact them within 7 days they weren't going to help me.
For a mental health charity they don't seem to understand mental health and that those suffering with it struggle to do things and that giving them an ultimatums in the form of a letter isn't helpful.
Sadly this is the type of thing that all the money raised for this 'charity' is funding just basically sending out letters to people and ticking their boxes, that and paying their wages of course.
I am still mentally suffering and need help but am not getting it so thanks for nothing Mind.
Sadly 'Mind' continues to be a useless waste of Time.
Sadly, this is not recently corrupted, it is an ongoing useless organisation, which is funded by not very bright but trusting and well-meaning companies, who no doubt have some sort of so-called 'Trustees' as most funded organisation have, supposedly keeping an eye on how the donations and funding is spent. Usually, they don't bother to check anything.
I joined 'Mind' for support for my mental health, and asked for counselling,.. eventually (no demands). This was well over a year ago. All they do is go for a walk once a week, and to the same place, a non stimulating (brain-dead) activity.
No effort on their part at all, and not even a cup of coffee for the attendees/clients they keep on their data-base, although it is they that get them the fundings, but we did hear that there was a lovely Xmas party for staff.
So, they certainly know how to reward themselves, on top of their salaries.
I have now found a lovely support group who are really helpful and caring to those who are not just mental health sufferers but anyone who suffers with a drug problem and are in crisis.
The Mind organisation is frazzled and no longer united, they told us this at head office, London. Then they should stop those independant offices from abusing their (once good) name and from being totally useless. (and greedy).
The evidence of this is here in Trust Pilot. 100% negative reviews!
I been trying to access mind for…
I been trying to access mind for support they don't contact, support or get back at me . I won't be using their services anymore.
I feel let down by this company and I will remember through my struggled times.
let me down when I needed them the most
I have been a sponsor of Mind for many years, however, I have recently withdraw my support based on my recent experience. I had a session with a Mind counsellor in 2021, who was absolutely excellent. Unfortunately, she has left the organisation and when I needed support recently, lady I was eventually allocated after three months of chasing, was completely disinterested, and had absolutely no empathy in supporting me. All I was after was some signposting to the correct help I needed, but she was unable to do that. Mind, you have really let me down when I most needed you.
I should have learnt the first time I…
I should have learnt the first time I went to Mind for help and they were useless and their advice led to me getting the sack from my job.
A few years later tried again and same level of incompetence leaving me in a worse situation than when I started. Never again!!!
Avoid
Memory support volunteer
Safe guarding issue.
One member of staff was just a bully... accused me of talking over her....said my humour had no place there...do not speak to the customers carers because they have their own meetings. She forcefully awoke a customer....when I told her that could have been assault...she said I know nothing about dementia ...my Aunty died of it ! During one meeting she spent most of her time in the corner on her phone !
I have spent almost 8 weeks trying to report the situation and have been passed from one manager to another most of whom have been on holiday.
This level of service is not fit for purpose.
They mind their own business not the mental well being of others
As specified in the title they are another useless charity who do harm and believe ticking boxes and advertising makes them good, I spoke to two see you next Tuesdays in the Birmingham Call centre . The first bloke that I got through to falsely asserted that I told him I was on. drugs . I have never been and hate street drugs. The knob head couldn’t agree to disagree , or admit that he’d got it wrong he kept asserting his false narrative loudly and stupidly perhaps hoping his superiors could hear it he sounded half brain dead through out the call but he seemed to have an entitled air about him to continue trying to disempower me and failing . The next evil bar stool I talked to sounded like a right chow . I told her I was facing homelessness and a stressful time ,she kept barking back in a Negative way like she was on a narcissist. heat.
Yelling “ow do ya think mind can help “????????
It’s clear to me that some of the A holes they hire , have no empathy and next to know desire provide compassion and support .
The managers should be marched out of their high paid set up and forced into poverty . With the Labour Party de powered and unable to protect them.
Clearly all of our health services need to be taken back to the drawing board .
At the start of the pandemic both…
At the start of the pandemic both myself and my wife needed help with our mental health, so we approached this organisation. Three weeks later (!) they replied with a brief message advising us to consult our GP. Go figure. They were absolutely hopeless, uncaring and unresponsive to our needs. I think they should be outed for being nothing more than a raising awareness organisation. They present the image of a caring organisation that actually ACTS to help people, but that just isn't the case.
Employ liar, complaints dept uninterested
I had counselling from them from a referral from another service. It took a year or so rather than the six weeks I was told. I was told by various people it would be a different number of sessions. The "therapist" could hardly speak or write English, wasting time in repeating and trying to explain over and over again, ignored signposting requests to a branch of MIND itself she was ignorant of which I asked to be referred to, although it was her who asked about it on the first place, breached security rules several times, and falsified outcome (which I can prove) to save her own skin. Complaints procedure only dealt with privacy issues, not the fact that I proved an employee had falsified records, and very obviously lied about sending documentation. My GP had a real go at me about it, and made me cry, although I tried to explain I couldn't get a letter sent to me after months, let alone one, with my permission, directly to her. I cannot get any more help because of her easily proven fraud. I still don't have a factually correct letter now, just the falsified one, sent by snail mail because they seem to believe I am not capable of receiving emails. I was not sent anything by email in the first place. I would have given money in my will to them for campaigning and research but not after this experience.
