I wanted to share my thoughts on the Compact Plus and Mycle team. Despite their friendly attitude, my experience has been far from positive. I've owned the Compact Plus for almost 8 months, but it's been a bumpy ride. The bike has gone through three rear-wheel replacements due to multiple broken spokes, which is quite concerning.

I use the bike on British roads and bike lanes, and after the third incident, I sought a partial refund under consumer legislation. However, I was convinced to accept another replacement wheel. When that wheel also failed, I consulted two independent cycle engineers, both of whom agreed that the wheel design was not up to the task. It either needs a redesign with additional spokes or stronger spokes altogether.

Faced with these issues, I decided against a prolonged dispute with Trading Standards. I needed reliable transportation and had to take matters into my own hands. I had the wheel privately rebuilt with Sapim Strong spokes, designed specifically for e-bikes. Since the repair, things have been running smoothly, and my confidence in the bike is slowly returning.

In my opinion, Mycle should seriously reconsider the construction of its rear wheels. If you're considering a purchase from them, I strongly advise scrutinising the safety of the wheels. Safety should be the top priority.

Mycle has decided to no longer deliver to Northern Ireland. So this means I can’t get any accessories for my cargo bike which they delivered to Northern Ireland a year ago. Which totally defeats the purpose of having the bike. Infuriating. Had to get a deck pad in Decathlon which is actually cheaper and does the same job

Pros:
- Nice looking bike
- Affordable end of the price range for a foldable ebike

Cons:
- Upon receipt of the bike, one of the parts was bent/damaged. However, when I contacted them they sent a replacement part straight away so that was acceptable.
- The manuals are available online only which is ok for me and I agree with reducing the need for printed materials, however, the manual is terribly written. Please hire someone well-versed in UX writing to fix this. The online videos are not much more helpful either.
- It was impossible to open and close the frame and I was advised to apply WD-40, which did fix the issue, however, not the ideal experience.
- Since day 1 I experienced issues with the brakes squeaking (more like squealing, or shrieking even!) whenever they are used. After multiple back and forths with customer service and trying different solutions, I gave up and decided to just live with it even though it is definitely not normal and makes me cringe every time I have to brake.
- I have to charge the bike after around 1.5 hours of use. This means I have to charge it pretty much after every roundtrip commute.
- Not long after all these issues, a new squeaking sound appeared whenever I am actively pedalling. Great, I now sound like I'm riding a rusty old bike even though it cost me near to a grand.
- To summarise, the bike did not arrive in a ready to use state and I will now have to spend extra money to go get it serviced despite how new it is.

Should've gone with a more reputable brand and spent a bit more money :( I only have myself to blame.

Initially my Mycle Compact bike was great. However, in the last year several parts have failed. Thankfully the battery failed in its warranty period so Mycle replaced it, but I have had the brakes, chain and rear cassette replaced. Sadly, the LCD display has also recently failed (just outside its warranty) and I have decided to buy a similar bike but from a different brand.

I may have been unlucky, but I wonder whether Mycle have gone for style over substance. The bike looks great, but I am surprised with the regularity with which parts have failed. The range is also sadly much less than expected, so I would advice getting the bigger battery unless your commute is very short.

Fantastic company they kept me updated on my bike and it is just perfect 👍🏻 so many people stop ask me where is it from .

I have an electric folding mycle bike and the control unit recently stopped working after some heavy rain on my commute. Mycle replaced the unit and advised the fitting instructions very promptly to get me back on the road. Excellent customer service.

The staff are very sweet and polite but I found the response time slow and for the price of the last bicycle I bought there was lacking in instruction manuals and follow. I love my little bike and its the second I've bought but I found it way too long to order and didn't end up with the colour I'd initially ordered.

Awesome to see an organisation bring affordable cargo bikes to the masses. I bought the cargo bike for a 10 and 12 year old as we wanted to drive less for school drop off/pick ups and it's been the perfect solution.

My wife was a little worried at first, but soon got used to the bike.

We did have an issue with the bike and the back wheel, but the team at Mycle went above and beyond to solve the problem...kudos to the team!!

Great bike, good range and comfort.

Good communication following my order. Good documents to assist with owning the bike.

Delivery was later than advertised by 4 days, full order not delivered (front basket missing), called with no answer, left message and advised Mycle would call back in 24 hours, no return call. Emailed twice with auto reply, basket arrived 10 days late, affixed basket which now fouls on the brake and gear cables, no fixing for integrated front light when basket removed, when basket attached cable will not reach correct position of light fitting. No building instructions included and video that they wish you to see on you tube is not detailed enough.
The bike is excellent thought.

Fantastic bike and easy to set up and use. I love it. Would definitely recommend. Company responsive when I enquired about build and delivery times.

The motor in top speed is scary on the flat but deals easily with the very steep hills here at holmefirth

We saw the Compact Plus in #new forest e-bikes Lymington whilst away and most impressed with quality of construction , whilst not the cheapest bike we looked at the price entry point was still competitive based on specification offered.Delivery was punctual and haulier was both polite and helpful. Our bikes were easy to assemble , even for me !

Love Mycle. Really good customer service and delivery information, short delivery times. The bike is brilliant, so easy to use and out together. We have the cargo bike and it feels so sturdy and strong. We live on a huge hill and it's made taking the kids to school a dream!

The bike is good quality and we are happy with it. The only thing I've found is that it's sometimes a bit inconsistent with the electric support - it takes a while to kick in sometimes, and then suddenly shoots off, which takes a little getting used to! Need to remember to switch to an easier gear when stopping or it's a bit hard going before the power comes in. The handle bars are also a bit too wide apart for me (slim to average female build). We did get a couple of items in our order that were wrong, but this was put right without any fuss.

The bike is perfect, the whole family love it. Well packaged, final assembly pretty straight-forward (relatively experienced cyclist) helped by the easy to follow manual. Rides great and the power assistance from the motor is well balanced. 100% recommend
