Language used is extremely misleading.
I support the theory but the language used is misleading in the extreme. Customers are given a level of “debilitation” score based on their genetic makeup, with little nuance or consideration given to variation in genetic expression or acknowledgment that a “normal” diet may be entirely sufficient despite such a so labelled “debilitating” genetic profile. As a medic I object to such emotive language being used to influence customers own interpretation of their results and subsequent decisions regarding their perceived needs. I find the language and scoring system to be more consistent with a marketing tactic for the shakes than an honest informative account of the genetic profile. Very disappointing. Could be so much better.

Firstly, I want to apologise for the disappointment you experienced. Our team of nutrigenetic scientists and nutritionists work hard to display and communicate the personalised nutrition reports in a way that helps educate and provide meaningful, actionable insights.
The word 'debilitation' on the sliding scale of 'High Debilitation' to 'Normal/Optimal' is used to highlight that a specific variant on a gene impairs your ability to process and utilise that specific nutrient, rather than suggesting a 'normal' diet is not good enough, nor to influence people.
We actively promote healthy eating beyond personalised BodyFuel. That is why outside of the BodyFuel recipe included within your report, we include personal nutritional recommendations. This page includes the types of foods you would need to eat to support your nutritional needs.
With all of this being said, we do listen. We have been reaching out to every NGX Hero who has experienced the journey to gain feedback in order to improve the way we communicate and deliver both our personalised products and services.
We have always been incredibly receptive to this feedback, and are proud to say that the input from the NGX Tribe helps shape the future of nutrition - NGX. Off the back of our recent feedback, one of our actions is to update the language within the report and this is currently happening. I will reach out personally to send you this updated report.
As a start-up, we have the ability to rapidly respond and develop with the NGX Tribe at the very core of our business. I think the product concept is good
I think the product concept is good. It tastes fine, and is easy to stick to. For long term use it is expensive. Good customer service.
But without baseline testing of actual nutrient blood levels, and then repeat blood tests after ~3 months, it is not possible to objectively assess if NGX is working effectively, that is balancing the body’s nutrient needs. For example, a balanced diet may already provide all the nutrients. We have no evidence of deficiency.
Also, how can we be sure the nutrients are being absorbed?

In terms of price, it costs £2.12 per meal. Although you may compare this to the price of other cheaper products on the market, they are cheaper for a reason. 1) They create one off-the-shelf product, not taking into account individual difference 2) The quality of ingredients is lower.
We use high quality, naturally sourced ingredients and continue developing our products to ensure we support individuals needs at a genetic level with the latest in nutrigenetic research. Ultimately, you end up with the most nutritious £2.12 meal ever!
Moving onto the other great questions, as I completely understand these points.
1) Blood tests. Yes the two tests together would provide a greater picture and yes re-testing after 3 months would be ideal. However, there is a difference between a blood test and genetic test that needs to be highlighted when talking about nutrition.
If you image an iceberg, you have the visible part representing the small piece, and the bigger piece is not visible to the human eye. A blood test is the top of the iceberg, it shows you nutrition levels in the blood at that given time in which the blood test was taken. What it does not tell you is why. Below the iceberg is where your genetic test comes in (and other factors of course).
For example, let's say you have low vitamin B12 levels on a blood test (tip of the iceberg). Carrying out a genetic test, it is likely that your MTHFR gene has a variant that reduces your ability to process and utilise vitamin B12.
A variant of the MTHFR gene can reduces ability to process and utilise B12 by up to 70%. With this in mind, let's say you consume 100% of the regular daily allowance - only 30% of this nutrient will be used. This is why we would significantly increase the amount in your shake to 'fill the gap'.
2) No evidence of deficiency - This follows closely to the blood test vs genetic test question. Our nutrition test does not tell you whether you are, or are not deficient. This is because efficiency is created predominantly through a lack of nutritional consumption. I could have the best genes in the world, perfect health, but if I put myself in a dark room, and consumed zero vitamin D - I would become vitamin D deficient.
What we can do is tell you whether you're likely to become deficient, or be susceptible to efficiency based on your results in which you can take action. For example, in this scenario it would be the gene that codes for the VDR receptor (Vitamin D Receptor).
3) All we need is a balanced diet - If you have a 'perfect' gene variant (one that does not negatively impair processing of that nutrient) on the genes we test for, then yes it's going to be easier to consume the right nutrients on a balanced diet.
With that being said, out of the thousands of people who have taken a DNA nutrition test, not one person has had a completely perfect test. If anything 90% of the community have unfavourable genetics from a nutritional standpoint.
Therefore, in the majority of cases to consume that increased demand of nutrients is incredibly difficult, less convenient, and more expensive than BodyFuel which caters for those genetic differences to make life simpler for you and the NGX Tribe.
4) How do we know if they are absorbed - Another great question. The blend we provide you with is already crushed and blended for you. Therefore your body has a higher capability to absorb the nutrients compared to when you eat a meal, or have a pill. Once again, a reason why we chose to provide BodyFuel in a powder and not a pill as our aim is to ensure you get the nutrients you need.

Brilliant, no going back. It’s so reassuring to know that I’m getting what my body specifically needs and on a daily basis. The report was fascinating and enlightening and will help me change my diet slightly based on the results. If the shakes weren’t all natural ingredients I wouldn’t be comfortable having them every day but i just feel like I’m adding nothing but goodness to my diet. It just takes the guesswork out of balancing vitamins and nutrition. I’m not an athlete, I’m a very active woman aged 50, going through the menopause trying to do the right thing. To anyone in the same position I can highly recommend them to help with everyday life. Sleep is better, energy levels don’t dip, generally feel good. Well worth the investment and Nathan and his team are amazing.

I'm a recent NGX customer
I'm on my 2nd batch of NGX personalised shakes, so it's a bit early to say whether they have a beneficial effect, but I was impressed with the process involved in testing my genetic make-up and how well Nutri-Genetix kept me informed of progress through the system.
Cost is a concern for me because I don't have lots of spare money, but even if I have one shake a day instead of the recommended two, it should still mean my intake of essential nutrients is greatly improved

2.Still have not found supposed emailed assessment.
3.Cancelled as has not received assessment prior to deliveries but product still delivered and charged.
4. After confirming cancellation was charged again.
NB:
Saving grace -at least emailed notification resulted in fast process of refund.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to leave this review for us. It is unfortunate to see you feel like you have not received the 5* level of service the team and I strive to achieve.
For transparency, I will go through each of the points you have made to clarify the journey you experienced.
1) Waiting time on results: We received your DNA sample on 27th of April 2021, this personalised report was sent on the 17th of May. This is a 14 business day turnaround time as unfortunately the lab does not operate on the weekends. On our site, we do communicate an estimated 10-14 working days between receiving the sample and sending the report.
If you feel as if we did not communicate this clearly enough, I would appreciate your feedback here.
2: Still not received the personalised nutrition report: Following on from my previous point, we sent your personalised nutrition report on the 17th of May, this will be dated on your report, and it is also accessible within your account section of the NGX website. Three days after the report was sent, I sent out a follow up email to check if you received your report which did not receive a response.
If you are struggling to get access to it within your account, let me know and I would be more than happy to walk you through these steps.
3. Cancelling your order prior to delivery: You purchased our limited offer of a free DNA kit upon subscription which you signed up to receive one BodyFuel a month (this was your initial charge of £34.99) - saving £99.99.
4. After cancelling was charged again: Your cancellation was made after the second charge. Prior charging your monthly delivery, you was sent an email updating you with regards to your charge date. We do this because we want to make sure you're kept up-to-date with when you have a payment taken as we would never want to 'surprise' you with these.
Once you made us aware you no longer wanted to carry on with the product, we refunded in the same day, but sometimes the refund can take some time to reach your account.
Once again, please do email me at nathan@nutri-genetix if you have feedback for improvement if these steps were not enough. It is my mission to continue delivering a personalised experienced on behalf of NGX and one that exceeds other brands.

Outstanding customer service and communication
Outstanding customer service from Nathan - he responded to my emails promptly and politely and quickly resolved an issue with an incorrectly sized T-shirt.
The personalised report contains lots of useful information on the genetic buccal swab results. This is great background reading for anybody who isn’t well-versed in biology and nutrition!
The power pack powder tastes great - it’s slightly sweet, but nowhere near as sweet as mainstream protein powders. The same goes for the personalised nutrition mix. They both have a slightly nutty taste, presumably from the brown rice, and taste fine on their own, unlike my other vegan protein powder.
As they’re not based on whey, I’ve had no antisocial side effects that usually accompany non-vegan powders.
The berry flavour boost was far too sweet for me but I’m happy to drink the base mixes on their own as they’re perfectly palatable.
I can’t yet comment on the efficacy of the product in terms of nutrition and muscle improvement as my training and nutrition schedule has been interrupted by life events!

Great product for focussed nutrition
I really like this product - having your issues documented allows you to make smart choices, not only on your protein powder but nutrition in general. I have lost the weight I wanted and feel pretty good at present. 1 Veggie smoothie a day is really beneficial for me.

I’ve had better protein powder
I’ve had better protein powder that satisfies the appetite so that you can achieve your weight loss goal. But I love the tailor made aspect of this product that specifically targets what you lack! It’s just a shame it isn’t a thicker consistency.

Thank you so much for the review, we really appreciate your feedback. I am unsure the previous shake you have used, and it would be interesting to know to understand the difference in satiety that you're having. It could be it's a higher calorie shake as a whole.
In terms of consistency, this can be changed to meet your needs by altering the amount of liquid used within your shaker. Higher calorie shakes tend to have a naturally thicker consistency.
I am super glad you're enjoying the personalised elements. Hitting those personal nutritional needs is incredibly important for the longer-term weight loss as it will continue to a) support your metabolism b) ensure you're not having a short-fall of nutrient consumption whilst eating at a calorific deficit.
On the two points you mentioned, as I said, happy to support you further on this and see how we can identify the difference in satiety. Also keen to see how you're getting on overall.
