Brought a discovery from the praters , they did not push in any way. Kerry was very helpful and I could not fault them 1 bit. I don’t understand the bad reviews as they are selling second hand cars and if you want new go buy new.

Was excited to go and see an Audi Q7 car but was disappointed as a lot of things were wrong with it. The car was imported at some point which was not disclosed in add and on viewing vehicle they was not forth coming with this information until asked why when checking insurance with reg vehicle was not found on multiple insurance sites? There were multiple features that did not work including speedometer and sunroof. Amongst all this we were still considering it if price was negotiable. The first sales advisor was really nice and helpful, the second sales advisor who could have closed the deal was extremely rude and unhelpful who said he was the owner he had no intention to sell and should consider taking a back seat when it comes to selling vehicles because he has no raport and zero customer service skills. Saw reviews previous to going but we were still open minded only to be proven wrong.

AVOID!!!!! Bought a discovery in Feb 2019 and problems problems problems!! First the suspension went, then inlet manifolds, bushes are shot and needs new AC compressor and no second key! All was said to be fine when purchasing. Horrible people to deal with. I WOULD NOT recommend!!

I just spoke to them on the phone and asked to come and view three cars they have for sale.
I asked a few more in-depth questions which the guy was clueless on and just said come view them.
I asked if he would be happy to get the three cars out of the garage for me to view and potentially test drive, he responded that he wouldn't be getting three cars out for someone to have a jolly up the road in.
Very arsey and unpleasant to deal with. Just lost another customer who probably would have purchased one of his cars.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
We'll i have always used franchised dealerahips when it comes to buying cars. On this occasion Praters had a car that i really liked and off i went to view it (220 miles). Upon arrival i was greeted and given the keys to take it out for a test drive.
Car drove very well, i noticed that the tyres were very close to the legal limit and Aaron replaced all 4 tyres without any hesitation which you would never get from a franchised delearship trust me i know.
When i arrived home i noticed that the spare key did not operate even after i changed the battery and once again Aaron without any questions replaced the key at a cost of £200.
Overall fantastic garage and great owners i cant recommend these guys enough nothing is to much trouble for them. This what customer service is all about and if your in the market for a used vehicle try them,good selection of cars/vans/4×4/pick ups.

I Bought a used Nissan xtrail from them in 2018. After a couple of months an oil leak appeared so got it checked out and was told it was the rear main seal. I contacted praters who straight away said bring it down they will sort it having had the car for two weeks I was told all sorted it was just something under the engine. After about 3 months the oil leak again appeared and now out of warranty so I keep monitoring it checking oil all seemed OK. After a couple more months the oil light kept coming on and it started drinking oil. I took it to a mechanic who I know and would be honest his words when I drove in horrified me! To say that's knackered was an understatement. He said your looking at about 2 to £3000 to repair it. Well having finance for £7000 on it what was I to do scrap it and cut my loss but then have to find another car and pay the finance on the xtrail or stump up for the repair. So on I carried and nearly £3500 later and a near complete engine rebuild pistons, seals plus new rear main seal and two months more without the car I got it back. In my view praters did not complete the repair they had it to do and it was just a quick fix as to repair properly the engine would need to be removed hence more than two weeks off the Rd. Would never use them again.

I went to Praters with champagne taste and lemonade money the two guys were great lots of genuine advice no bias either way
Recommended my Great wall Steed which is fantastic munches miles easily returning 35plus a gallon when cruising with stacks of power

They have a Cat S vehicle for sale on their site, which means it has historically been written off by the insurer as it has sustained structural damage. I politely asked whether they had any documents to show the damage that the car had sustained and the repairs that had taken place. "No", they replied. I asked if we could carry out a third party inspection. "No", they replied. After trying my best to gain some comfort on the extent of the damage and repairs, the salesman just hung up on me. It's like they don't want to sell their cars. Incredibly unhelpful.

The worst car dealers I have ever used.
Bought a car yesterday from praters. They assured me it was a reliable car and had been well looked after, that it had been fully checked and serviced etc. The car was completely empty of fuel and they provided one jug of fuel that they thought would be enough to get us to the petrol station. That should have been the point we said no but we had already paid by then. The car then refused to start as we went to drive away. It was jumped and we were told it was just a flat battery.
We made it to the garage and filled it up with £94 of diesel
Within 3 miles of leaving the engine management light came on. The dealer insisted we drove back to them for it to be repaired. When we arrived back oil was pouring out of the car.
They told us it would be repaired immediately and be ready the next morning.
The next morning we called them at 11 when we had heard nothing. They were rude and dismissive, had no idea what was wrong with the car and refused to provide a courtesy car or deliver the not yet looked at so not yet repaired car to us after they finally got around to looking at it. They told us they didn't care as the car wasn't expensive and they werent interested in doing anything.
We had been told that the car had been regularly serviced and that they had checked it and done any necessary work recently. This was not true.
We requested a refund and this was initially agreed. They refused to refund the £94 of fuel that we had put in the car and were incredibly rude and threatening on the phone. When I advised the dealer the call was being recorded he stopped the verbal threats. They then refused to discuss it further and insisted that we attend the garage at our own cost before they would refund the purchase price and that we had to apologize for causing them hassle.
Yes that's right we drove an 80 mile round trip, drove the car for 2 mins and handed over nearly 5k but we were causing them hassle when it blew up. We had to get a hire car in order to go back and apologize to them and get our money back.I
When we arrived they refused to refund our money unless my partner signed a settlement agreement. The settlement agreement was the purchase price only and a "gagging order" in the form of a statement that he could not leave reviews or discuss the experience. They told us if we didnt they would hold our money up for months as they "knew how this worked" and would deliberately draw the process out to prevent us from getting a refund. My partner was forced to sign as I am disabled and cant walk far and without a car I am trapped in the house. I was not asked to sign depsite being joint owner of the car. I was ignored completely.
The reason there are limited negative reviews is now obvious. I'm now having to start ccj proceedings to get back my out of pocket expenses as they would not return the money spent on fuel even when provided with a reciept and said the only way we were getting the fuel back was if we took it out of the car ourselves.
Avoid these absolute cow boys at all costs
