Please Be Warned!!
This company were recommended to me by friends who had recently taken out funeral plans with them. They were glowing in their praise, as are many of the reviews on here. I am sure the people who come to your house to sell the policies are very nice indeed. However, potential customers need to realise that this industry is in the process of being regulated and from 29th July 2022 no company will be allowed to provide funeral plans unless they are on the FSCS register, which guarantees that your money is safe. This includes plans already sold in the past.
I did my due diligence and checked Prosperous Life and found they are not registered they have merely submitted a claim along with 42 other companies and by 16th March 2022 not a single one of these claims had been accepted but a large number rejected, ref: Paul Lewis Moneymarketing
Meanwhile their accounts filed at Companies House show them to be massively in debt which suggests to me that they are highly unlikely to be accepted onto the Financial Conduct Authority register. It is unclear what will happen to the tens of thousands of customers, with funeral plans, when these unregulated firms have to stop trading next month but I for one would not like to be among them. Please check your policies!
