No leeway after 10+ years of custom

Been with them for well over 10 years, paying annually. Needed to reduce our service as not using much. As we were coming to the annual payment, we tried unsuccessfully to do this in the portal. Opened a support case, and contacted customer account manager. No response. Finally rang them over a week later. I was told we were tied to a 24 month contract that we agreed to in 2019, and nothing that anyone can do to change this. I wasn't even cancelling - just reducing. Next year, will clearly will be sorting an alternative with clearer policy and better support.

Follow-up (4/7/24): Ignore the presence of a response as it's a worthless show of Customer Service. I replied as requested, to be told "it appears you are in a contract at this time". I'd already said that in my review, a 2 year renewal contract from 2019, having had the service since 2011. Despite several emails, I had no further contact or offer of compromise, and the annual payment date slipped past, and the full £719 charged for a service I don't use.

Scam

Scam - dreaful support and try and bill you for services you don't need and you can't cancel! Avoid like the plague

Customer service a class leader

My experience with Ring Central has been positive. The person I spoke to was very helpful and answered every question I had without making me feel misunderstood.

I would not hesitate to recommend their products to colleagues based purely on their customer service.

The same cannot be said for another software company I have had poor experiences with.

Overall it was refreshing to feel valued as a potential customer and I felt as if I was talking to a person, rather than a script.

Superb Service and great phones

Was shopping around for VOIP telephone service back in February 2024. Cameron from Ringcentral UK has been amazing, from helping us choose the right plan, to delivering and setting up the phones. He even worked overtime during weekends and the bank holiday to answer any questions and chased deliveries. Thumbs up for the effort.

We rented 20 VOIP handsets from them, they helped us provision the phones which saved us a lot of time. Ringcentral customer care is very helpful, they guided us on how to setup all the diversions, voicemails etc..

In a nutshell, helpful team, good knowledge, phones are great, reliable telephone line, easy to use software. Recommended.

Avoid if not based in the US

Probably best to steer clear if you operate in the US but are located anywhere else. This combination makes it impossible to send SMS due to their TCR requirement choices. Support pretty unhelpful also - originally signed up for RC specifically for the texting function so checked I would be able to use it with support who said it would be fine

Shocking Customer Service - impossible contracts to cancel, even when not using service.

Having major issues with them.
Used them previously and it all worked quite well, but when it came to cancelling that is a different question. We never used the subscription in the end, so when we cancelled it - it turns out the auto renewed the subscription without informing us or asking permission. They didn't even send us a receipt or warning. Then to make it worse - they have ignored all our emails and requests to cancel our contract - even though it is clear we have never used the service.

Luckily it was only for £80 a month - however, thank god I didn't commit to a larger package.

Horrific experience!

Horrific experience!

Trying to get out of my contract as the system was very below average! I have come to the end of my contract and the customer service team ignored all requests to cancel. Contract rolls and I was still trying to get my account manager and anyone possible to cancel my contract. Then I move away, instantly get threats from accounting, in the end threaten to sue them and they let me go.

Difficult to navigate the dashboard, but good service.

If you can get it up and running, it's reliable service and good quality calls. However the dashboard and system is completely outdated. It is difficult to navigate and not easy to understand, so your team may spend a lot of time on the phone to them trying to make what should be simple changes.

The support line is responsive and their staff very helpful however.

I cannot start to explain the problem I…

I cannot start to explain the problem I am having with RingCentral. I have been trying to cancel this service for 18 months in writing, they continue to acknowledge my request but still take money from my bank account. I am at my wits end as what to do. I strongly discourage anyone from dealing with them.

I have now received an e-mail from RingCentral stating that they will not cancel my unused contract unless i discuss it on the phone with them first. I have already done that over a year ago and am not prepared to speak to them again. I have give clear written instruction to cancel. The account has not been used for over 2 years but because they have my card details they keep charging me.

Unhelpful Customer Services

RingCentral suspended our account due to that the KYC form has not been completed on time. The message was sent to an ex-college hence it's never been received properly. We have tried to reach out to the customer support team to resolve and the call was redirected to billing team a few times with response that ONLY our account manager could help, who is on holiday. After attempted around 7-8 calls on the telephone line to try to get the services resumed, there's no luck at all. Surely there should be a better way (e.g. redirect us to team who can support us, KYC team). The business can not simply wait for an account manager to be back for the account to be enabled! Very disappointed at this level of service.

The most annoying thing about this…

The most annoying thing about this review, is that I have used the service now for many, many years. Probably 5-6 years and the actual product isn't bad. It does what I need.

But my review is on support and billing. 3 years ago I needed to reduce my contract and number of lines. I contact them regularly. Always the same excuse about being in contract. Gets closer to the time, no one ever gets back to me. The request seems to go unheard and they milk more money out year on year. It's so annoying

Sales rude and completely unhelpful, major issues with call queues

Support slow to ask simple questions - all ticket based and no telephone support (the irony), community board equally useless, Andrew in sales couldn't even answer a simple question about missed calls and just directed me to an irrelevant resource page then ended the conversation with 'I don't know unfortunately.' Couldn't have cared less about going and finding out the answer to a question they should know the answer to and was downright rude over the 3 messages he sent.

The API and Zapier integration usage is incredibly limited - despite being titled 'SuperAdmin', you cannot connect a 'SuperAdmin' account via Zapier/API to then access your other users voicemail boxes/accounts at all, they all have to be individually connected, completely impractical.

The biggest issue, which looking at the community has been raised for years and completely ignored: If you have a call queue, it will ring multiple people. Whoever does not answer that call (even when someone does answer it) it will show as a missed call to every other agent! That leaves them 2 options - ask every time a call comes through if someone else has answered it (obviously not possible or practical) or call the customer back and end up looking stupid because they've already spoken to someone, or worse multiple agents call them back and they get harassed by multiple calls.

The cancellation period is robbery.

The cancellation period (in my case, eight months) is greedy. After all, the service only consists of digits in a server farm.
The reliability has been OK, but the system isn't particularly intuitive and is designed for a bigger business than mine.

Appalling company, bounced around on loop and horrific treatment from the billing team on death of the director. Do not use this company, avoid at all costs
