*Website freakin sucks ass, nothing works and the bot helps you in no way. It's almost as if they want you to have as much trouble as you can so that way you make your payments late and you're f'd. Fix your web interface ff sake.

Issues with setting up online account, worthless customer service
I called because in setting up my account it kept saying my account already exists with my email. Person on the phone did do anything for me. I ended up using my work email which I'm not happy that I had to do that.

Horrible customer service
I absolutely hate that I'm stuck with this corrupt company! In the two years of owning my car I and anyone else I have had look at my account can't figure how the balance owed is waaaay more then the car was at purchase. Then to add to it all the amount of "late " fees they keep tacking on. Oh and this really gets me I have bill collectors calling me telling me Im three months behind!! Calling and trying to get someone who speaks english is impossible. MY advice stay away from this corrupt company!!

IF A NEGATIVE RATING WAS AT ALL POSSIBLE THIS COMPANY DESERVES IT!
Anything that could go wrong has gone wrong. The only people I could reach at any time were in India or Bangladesh or some such third world toilet!
I am dealing with the estate of my eldest son and he apparently has an auto loan through them. After two days of speaking with morons who can barely speak English I got in touch with one who was able to do so well enough that we could communicate. He told me that I had to send them documentation such as a death certificate, etc., BY FAX MACHINE ONLY!! No PDF files or digital copies via email. FAX ONLY!!! No one in our town has a FAX machine! Not even one!
After the person gave me the FAX number I drove half an hour to an office center and they tried to send the documents. After over an hour of the target machine hanging up, they had to close for the evening. So, I went back today and we spent another two hours trying to get the Santander FAX machine to answer. We never got a hook up. Eventually, the person at the counter looked up another FAX number for another division and we sent the documents there just to prove that they had been sent to the company. At least the legal part has been covered.
I am now putting copies of everything into envelopes and will be using USPS to send the documents via certified, return receipt mail to the post office boxes listed on their pitiful and ridiculously stupid web site. To say the least, the web site is absolutely useless because no matter what you wind up at the same phone number with no results.
What I did learn from my conversation with the person overseas is that although all of the information I supplied, including SS#, DOB, address, point and date of purchase and more, was correct. However, there was now a "co-signer" and the VIN for the vehicle did not match! There is no "co-signer" on the original purchase papers which I have in front of me right now! To add to the confusion the payoff of the vehicle is more than the selling price of my son's vehicle by almost $14K according to the web site from Hell!!!!! WTF!!!!!!???????? You figure it out because I cannot!
In addition to a completely failed web system the robotic telephone system is even worse! It keeps spewing forth advertisements and menu choices which run you down various rabbit holes that all loop back to the beginning. Whoever thought this one up is psychotic and should be locked up in a rubber room!
I am currently writing letters to the senior officers of the company and I am not holding back by any means. What I will be sending them will make their eye burn!
This is indeed the most useless and dishonorable company on the planet! I implore anyone reading this entry to avoid doing business with this clown organization at all costs! Go without if you must but, please, please, PLEASE, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
Addendum: You may notice a "reply" from the company below this article. What was submitted is very obviously an automated response by an AI/BOT system. It is very recognizable as such. My response is simple, get a real living breathing and English speaking person to respond or go pound sand!! The number that was provided was just one of the telephone numbers that went to a call center in Southeast Northwest Central Toilet Town India! FORGET IT! NO WAY!
If that stupid computer wants any response from me then get Christiana Riley or David McClelland to reach out to me in person and we can have "discussion" about their miserable and very poorly rated corporation! The computer is too stupid to do that and if it was they likely have not the courage or integrity to do so.
For the record, the BBB and other organizations, Trust Pilot included, all have hundreds, if not thousands, of complaints and horror stories about this company and their supposed "customer service." Look it up yourself!
So, in response to TP for wanting verification, consider this that verification. For the stupid and useless AI/BOT system, go stick your wires in water and get a short! Have those supposed leaders contact me directly if they have any honor whatsoever. If not, well, I've said as much as I car to say.

Horrible website & unable to save…
Horrible website & unable to save payment information! EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOG IN TO MAKE A PAYMENT I HAVE TO RE-ENTER ALL OF MY ACCT INFORMATION! A car I had 6 years ago is still listed on my account - even though it's been sold & that loan was paid off in 2021 - but the inability for Santander to remove this vehicle from my current loan is causing issues! I can't update any contact information & when I called, the representatives don't speak good English at all and can't help!!! VERY FRUSTRATING & I WOULD 100% NOT RECOMMEND them!

I spent an hour on the phone just trying to change my phone number, but since my account number has eight digits. I was told my account wasn't valid, so they locked me out of my account. I spent an hour just trying to talk to someone, even trying to bypass the prompts, to speak to a person to update my phone number. I had all of my login information correct, but they blocked my account. To get help, by the time I talked to a real person, as I was having a meltdown and crying over the phone, someone at their bank got me to a live agent to change my phone number and update and refresh the account that they locked me out of. I reviewed my account number, and I had that number, my login information, and everything was correct in my notes on every payment I make. I've never been late, and I usually pay my bill early. The agent I got ahold of helped me so nicely, and I'm grateful that she helped me. My issue is that there HAS to be a way for folks to be able to call in and talk to a person to update or access their accounts. I shouldn't talk to a customer service agent in tears since they're dealing with enough already. I understand keeping accounts secure, but this whole experience was just so totally insane to me, that I couldn't just talk with someone about what I needed to do, that I tried for a hour to reach a person to update my phone number. Not a single bypass of the menu options let me to a person. The first time I got a person, they didn't talk at all, but the 2nd person I talked to handled everything great. Like I said, I've never made a late payment with them, but if this happens again, I might just skip their payment, and go for a shopping spree. Quit screwing around with folks like this. Stop telling them that their account info is wrong when it isn't. I knew my account information, but I feel like I got gaslit by my own car lender...

What a bunch of scum bags ! At a loan I paid on for 2 years not a single missed payment at 13% truck gets totaled in a accident go to finance thru them again same credit score same 9,000 cash down and now they say 19% fuc*ing pathetic
Edit post santander response: apparently they can't read folks same credit score same 9k cash down the reviews tell you everything you know and they feel the need to try to come on here to defend themselves 🤣

Terrible company to work with
I have been trying to get the title of my vehicle sent to my DMV for over 3 months. This is quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. They decided to send a letter that said they "know I own the vehicle" instead of the actual title even though I told them multiple times that the DMV requires the actual title. Each phone call to this company feels futile. No one has answers only "it takes time to get through the system"

Terrible customer service and impossible to get answers that match what previously was said or told that I could have happen.
Was left on hold for over 40 minutes and then never got back to because it was the end of their business hours and they left me on hold... I called way before the end of their business hours and could have been helped but they didn't
Them saying they’ll mark my review as not genuine is also a reflection of their company. You get told so many different things by different agents. No one is ever on the same page or helpful.
They source their customer support to other countries and the barrier is obvious when trying to communicate and understand them.

I have made repeated attempts to contact customer service to ask a simple question. I have gotten the "thank you for contacting us, we week get back to you shortly" but nothing else. Calling customer support is a hassle as well.

Ridiculous
Ridiculous! We have spent the last 3 Tuesday’s trying to get our registration for jeep . We moved from Texas to SOuth Carolina. The DMV requires a copy of the title with lien holders name on it . They told us the title was under maintence at our state DMV . So we called Tx DMV . She stated our title was mailed to Santander 4 years ago ! So I’ve spent close to 8 hours on the phone with so called supervisor agents trying to get them to even send it directly to SCDMV . So here we are once again sitting out in the car on hold with Santander again , because we can’t get them to send it . Oh wait I forgot they did send a letter to us via email stating we own the vehicle. And of course SCDMV won’t accept . It’s not like we are trying to scam them , we are just people who need to drive back and forth to work everyday . Send it directly to DMV I don’t care . You are costing us money , with tickets , gas time . I would not recommend this company and will be sure to let anyone I know this . Unreal

I am not able to set up my account
I am not able to set up my account. I have spoken to 3 customer service representatives and the last person told me that she could not help me and forwarded my concerns to a supervisor. That supervisor was supposed to contact me and nobody has reached out to me. It’s a sad day when a financial institution ignores a customer. I will make sure to review this terrible service on Google and other social media platforms.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We bought a vehicle a little over a year ago and within the month our car loan was transferred to Santander. First issue was within the month found they deleted all our autopay info and showed a month past due. No one even told us the loan company had changed. I only knew the company had changed because my credit took 150 point hit with 28 times being pulled without my permission. We weren’t given any indication of our outrageous interest rate either. We had it set up to split the payment in half making a double payment each month. That barely made a dent and my credit still hasn’t recovered. Beginning of May we were coming up short due to loss of one of our incomes and called to make an arrangement. It began the vicious cycle of always being told something different every single phone call. Never anyone who could understand English and they refused to let us get a word in. They would always talk over us and tell us a manager isn’t available. We called and asked what needed to be paid that day to keep it out of repossession. We paid more than our normal split payment and were told it was safe. Asked what was needed and when next and they said it was safe, nothing upcoming this month but try to pay when we could. Within 2 days I got another text saying it was going to be repossessed. Called yet again and they said we needed to pay the full over 900 monthly payment. We went through the dog and pony show yet again and said we couldn’t do that and we had a payment arrangement literally 2 days ago. Eventually they saw that and the conversation was done. Today it was repossessed. No warning, no need to pay this much by this date, nothing. We called and the first person was useless and just read a script, then the real fun began when the manager got involved. Mind you I’m a co-owner on this account. He pulled up everything and saw the 550 payment made then said we were supposed to pay the over 900 by the 15th and we failed to pay the agreed upon per a phone call 2 days after the 550 payment. We said that’s not true, the 550 was arranged by the agent on the phone to keep the vehicle safe, repeatedly asked if we needed anything else sooner and no contact was ever made. He kept saying we were lying and when I tried to cut him off by saying to pull the recording he told me he didn’t have to talk to me because “ex wives aren’t authorized to talk about the account”. That’s when I lost my cool and informed him I’m a co-owner of the vehicle and a few other choice words. Is that my most professional moment, no, but I was done. He continued the rudeness and I said we were done with him and to transfer to a new manager he refused and said no one was available but to call back to get a different one. So caught him in that lie. Well we did call back, got him, he hung up on us immediately. Called back again, got a lady even worse than him and said we had to deal with the consumer dept from now on but in 24 hours from now. So guess who has no vehicle to work the only income job. Even the tow truck driver who nicely let us get my belongings out said the same company just repossessed his wife’s vehicle after they refused to pay out the gap coverage after it was TOTALED. This company is horrible and the people are even worse. It’s always been a battle with them and boy did we get screwed from the start.
