Direct Express Customer Service Is Worthless!

A friend has a cracked card. He's been getting the run around getting a replacement card, Having 19 years banking experience I called and asked the representative a question. It was: if he goes to a bank, opens an account, can that bank call Direct Express to collect his funds. A procedural question, not asking any financial privacy questions. The rep would not help. She was worthless.

This company has been holdirng my card…

This company has been holding my card saying I need proof who I am sent them my driver license that I renewed a couple months ago they told me it's expired then they want my birth certificate and S,S card. I have
been on SSDI SSI From 2017 tell now I have my rent to pay each day I'm late I have a fine to pay every time I call I wait 2 and a half hours and then I don't get any help I get the same thing I need ID that isn't expired and it's not, gave them birth certificate now SS CARD .THEY HAVE ALL MY INFO I DON'T LIKE THIS COMPANY . AND I STILL CAN'T PAY MY RENT WHY DO THIS NOW IF THINGS ARE HARD ENOUGH RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

They locked my card while I was shopping and it's been two weeks since then and they giving me a run around to get my money off of their card no one has been any help to the matter and the operators seem to act like it's one big joke wouldn't recommend this company to no one

Direct Express is useless

They put a fraud on my card when I used my card for walmart plus. Their customer team canceled my card without notification, extremely rude employees are no help, and I found out I can't use my card practically anywhere online. Because they said they didnt wany my accout to be compromised but they refuse to refund the money if compromised.

I never want to have to call them again…

I never want to have to call them again but I will. I would rather drive to kentucky than sit on hold four four hours. Still no help because they say my phone and email will not receive codes. I receive cdes to both daily. I am not trusting them but with ssa there is no other option. That is what they know too.

My honest star rating for the DirectExpress customer service is a -20... NEGATIVE 20 STARS!!!
HOLD TIMES OF MULTIPLE HOURS!
ABSOLUTELY, NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER! NOT EVEN AN OPTION TO LIVE CHAT OR RECEIVE A CALL BACK. NOTHING JUST BAD ELAVATOR MUSIC AND A FAKE ASS "WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE"
IF EVERYONE WILL STOP USING THIS COMPANY MAYBE THEY WILL GET THE HINT AND DO BETTER.

Direct express stole my social security check from me

I sign up for direct deposit the agent sent my card to the wrong address I had to send in documents to verify who I was when direct express already knew I finally received my card it’s been since nov 15th I haven’t been able to activate my card I even received a email stating I been verified I haven’t been able to pay my rent my lights is cut off I have no food my kid is sick I can’t pay for my medication and I’m a diabetic with other illnesses I call direct express no one is answering I call 10times a day I also email them and I told them send my direct deposit back to social security I have not received nothing no response they holding my money like it belong to them I don’t never wanna deal with direct express they keep harassing me holding my money I need to survive i don’t want direct express ever talking to me because I’m taking out a lawsuit my name is Murchison

Worst company EVER

Worst company EVER! Do not use them! Horrendous customer service, excessive wait times, then disconnected by reps after they lie. Supervisors are just as bad as the reps with lying to customers. This company needs to be shut down immediately and investigated. There was a class action lawsuit against this company before, so why are they still in business. The federal government needs to step in and monitor the call center calls, this will prove how incompetent this company is.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE 🤬🤬🤬 Direct Express agents were incredibly rude to my parents and absolutely unhelpful! I helped my mom send all the required documents, including her Social Security ID and birth certificate, which she submitted already. We've been waiting for over 24 hours for them to verify her identity, but they still claim they can’t confirm it’s her. Now they’re holding the money on her card—*my money is there too!*—and they’ve gone ahead and blocked the card. This is completely unacceptable! Now they're asking her to go social security office but she told them that she I already went there to update information and she changed her last name this is ridiculous. Time for my parents and I to file a complaint I had enough of this.

I wouldn't even give them a star but…

I wouldn't even give them a star but had to get to leave this comment, they where investing me for fraud every couple of months holding my money up and you will wait forever to talk to someone on the phone if they don't answer in a couple of hours it will automatically hang up and you have to start all over!!! Don't recommend it at all!!!!!

24/7 customer service??

It says on the Website that customer service is available 24/7. I find this untrue. Most of the time when I need help with my account I am either on hold for an hour or more then after getting no one I finally hang up in frustration. I have called in the past for anything from a stolen card to questions about transactions. If it says that Direct Express customer service is available 24/7 then they need to hire a lot more people to take care of the needs of account holders. I realize they are busy at the beginning of the month but it is like this throughout the entire month! This is very bad business practice of Direct Express. Over the years I have been a member I keep hoping they would actually fix things but I have come to realize there is no such luck!

There should be a place for 0 stars. My card was locked without my knowledge. They requested info in which I gave 3 times. I got a so called approval for verification and STILL cannot access my account. When I sent them another email. I got a returned reply back with the initial request for personal info. This is SUPPOSED to be the fraud department. However, they ARE the frauds. Just DON'T do it.

Cant make a purchase on amazon. Customer service says TOUGH $#!+ Absolutely useless. What politicians got paid to saddle me with this crappy bank!

This is the WORST pre-paid debit card…

This is the WORST pre-paid debit card ever.. up until around 1 year ago, it wasn't great, but it was ok..now you can't pull all the cash off that you need ..they limit it, but NOW, my card do not let me purchase anything nor pull any money off whatsoever...the last time it allowed me to even make a purchase, was Nov 3rd.. So BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY... If you get benefits, use a regular bank account, credit union or cash app ..if not, you'll remember this post & be sorry that you didn't take heed... Now I'm in a world of crap, of not being able to buy food or give my children any cash. At bottom of this comment section, it asks what date did this happen..it's been crappy for about 1 year..but as of Nov 3rd... I can't do anything with this card..

I use my cashapp card for online…

I use my cashapp card for online purchases only have an issue with my direct express card linking to my cashapp card account. That's why no body can see my direct express card information. I having issues loading my cashapp card with my direct expree card.

Card fraud handled horribly!!!!

I had card fraud the first 400 I called and canceled the card only to get another low balalnce alert a few days after the money should have been put on my card! I called and they never cancled it! Now monthd later after writing down each amount and sending the dispute and finally getting my money back, they decide it was not fraud and are taking the money off again!!!! Half of it was there fault because they never cancled my card and said they did! They record your calls yet they wont go back and listen?? Its social security so im already on a very low income and they have taken the money back off the card when all but 200 had been spent to catch up on bills! Now when there was 200 left its in the negatives and they did this at the end of the month when they knew I could not stop the check coming on the third till next month!!! Im sick over it!
