Yo sushi before a flight!?!? Bad idea!

Went to the yo sushi in Heathrow airport and it cost us thousands after we got food poisoning from their out of date sushi. We didn't realise it until we finished, but half the dishes on the belt had stickers on them that would have been removed hours ago.

Messaged them to complain and had no response, 7 days later me and my wife are on the other side of the planet in bed still suffering from their terrible food. I wish I could post images on here to show the stickers on the plates.

Absolutely disgusting company.

Bad customer service


We always buy their sushi from the Tesco’s in Crawley but one night we bought two bowls for a change. When we got home and started eating them they were so spicy hot that we couldn’t finish them. I was amazed that there wasn’t any warning signs on the packaging, like three or four chilli’s to warn you. Over three weeks ago I e mailed Yo Sushi customer support (like it tells you on the packaging) asking this same questions. Since then I have been told that the Kiosk Manager at the Crawley Tesco’s has been asked to come back to me. That is what they keep saying. Clearly the kiosk Manager doesn’t really care at all. Customer support has now stopped replying to me. Not buying their bowls or sushi again.

From good to bad

We have always loved YO Sushi but this time it did not live up to how we remembered. Food was good as always but the service is where I had an issue, to get cutlery, order food and get the bill, I had to get the waiters attention because they were too busy chatting amongst themselves, I even saw one of them pretend to bum another one of the colleagues from behind which I understand can be work banter but not in front of the customers, it was disgusting to see. Also after not being asked if I wanted cutlery and unable to get the attention of the staff, I got up and got some myself which was met by a comment of “next time let me know and I will get it for you” which was not in a nice way but a snarky comment at the least. Also, the food on the conveyor belt is disgusting, it sits there for far too long before it’s eaten and tastes horrible compared to it being made fresh. Lastly, where have the QR codes gone?

Metrocentre

Metrocentre - diabolical. Chose Yo Sushi over Wagamama for convenience as I was on my own and wanted to order ramen.
The menu was given and asked if I wanted a drink and she went to fetch it.
After checking ramen was still on menu I put it down and eventually she came over.

The server (girl) came back and asked what I would like to order. I said I’d like the ramen.
She then said we can’t give you the ramen on the menu or anything on that side of the menu except the fries. I asked why. She said “we haven’t got the space to make ramen.”
The kitchen is huge so I couldn’t believe this. She asked if I would like anything else. Do you want sushi?. I replied, I don’t like sushi. I came here for the ramen. I said, I don't know what to order as I came here instead of Wagamama to have your ramen. I don’t want anything else.
She didn’t tell me this when I sat down with the menu. She said sorry the kitchen hasn’t enough room to make ramen.
It was a pathetic reason in my opinion and I believed it to be an excuse as the prep area is huge with a few chef staff on it and plenty of room. It was almost laughable to be told this.
I had a few sips of my drink then left. She didn’t want payment for the drink.
It’s substandard now.

It was the 2nd time visiting Yo Sushi…

It was the 2nd time visiting Yo Sushi Trinity Leeds. 1st time was in 2018. It wasn't the best Sushi I had had.. but certainly wasn't the worst. The staff and service were fantastic and so helpful as it was my first time. I was looking forward to making another visit. I did so... March 2024. This time I was so disappointed. First of all when you visit any restaurant.. you expect the service to be on point. To be at hand when needed. Although when you did manage to get the attention of a member of staff... they were polite and helpful but I had to wait...and wait.. and wait. Infact as we waited so long for someone to tell them we had done and to tally up our plates.. I had to take photos so they could tally up our bill. The food... it took so long receiving our food we ordered off the menu which meant we had to take more plates off the belt (by then we had tried almost everything) as we were left waiting far too long! Again... trying to get the attention of the staff proved to be a tiring task. The food I felt was ridiculously priced for average food. Seriously.. I have eaten at Issho, The Ivy Asia, Little Tokyo which have been exceptional! Absolutely top quality food which you can justify paying the prices. At Yo Sushi, Leeds.... I would rather have got Sushi from Sainsburys or any other supermarket. I shall not return to Yo Sushi. Please note that this is my personal food preference and if you haven't tried it before, the Japanese dining experience itself is something worth trying

Very disappointed from costumer service
I went on Sheffield Meadowhall branch
I was charged 3 extra dishes I didn’t asked for
I asked for receipts when I payed however they don’t offer at all.
I had to go back to speak with the waitress she said I have picked from the belt when I was told food will be served and I received all what I ordered .
Manager came out and said was sorry it was a mistake
I prefered when I payed online and you know what I have ordered
My advice is ask for receipt and don’t walk way till you have checked everything

I thought it was amazing

I thought it was amazing, the people who worked there checked up on you and made it such a warm experience, they where lovely. The food (especially the salmon hand roll) was the best sushi I’ve ever gotten, overall amazing, the only downside is that it is quite expensive but for how it tastes, it’s fresh and for what it is aswell it’s definitely worth it x

I bought a pack of premade vegan sushi

I bought a pack of premade vegan sushi, the wasabi packet was awkward to open, it burst and ended up on my face, on my eyelid and almost in my eye and they've not even had the decency to address my complaint, sort it out or I'm going to Watchdog and Health and Safety. Never got back to me, the food sucked anyway.

What a waste of my time

What a waste of my time. I've ordered on the too good to go app driven just under and hour to collect walked into Tesco and the app daysorder cancelled. The staff at the yo sushi counter tesco toton didn't even bother to come speak to me . Thank good Tesco staff were kind enough. I will make sure no one I know goes to yo sushi in Toton Tesco ever again . Ps. They had shelves over flowing with food... bet it doesn't sell and it goes to waste .

Good food, love the sea food ramen.
Hima looked after us very well and gave us free desert....lovely
It was busy we had to wait for a table but very worth it

Birmingham Yo Sushi - Avoid!

Recently visited the Birmingham restaurant inside Selfridges, entire party ended up ill afterwards. Sent our experience to their customer service team and were offered very little support and ongoing patronising emails, with no resolution. Food on conveyor belt was very limited, same food going around and around and cubicle seating very cramped. Expensive, poor environment, confusing ordering, overall extremely disappointing and appalled that our situation was not addressed and believed. Avoid!

What went wrong?

My previous visit to YoSushi at Christmas 2022 was much the same as every visit before that, perhaps a bit pricier but not eyewatering-ly so.
Today however will be my last, until they make some massive structural changes, or reversions.
1. Previously there was an excellent system whereby you could order and pay as you went along. This has now been replaced by a pay at the end system of mobile terminals which left everyone standing around trying - and failing - to pay and the clearly long suffering staff battling epic customer annoyance.
Until I hear this junk system has been replaced and the previous scam and pay system reinstated, I won’t be going back.
2. Portion sizes are absolutely comical. Dishes which previously would have been generous, filling, and while not cheap, were good value, are now offensively small. The chips for instance used to be a substantial helping in a deep bowl. They now come on a saucer.
Unless the old portion sizes make a reappearance, I’ll eat elsewhere.
3. The prices have never been cheap, but at least you used to get something for your money. £4.75 for a saucer of plain chips? Daylight robbery. 5 slices of sashimi is the price of a main meal. 5 nuggets for £7.10? Ludicrous.

The staff confirmed that this is their life now and watching the restaurants become quieter and quieter due to corporate decisions is very sad.

Yo has always been one of my favourite restaurants and the disappointment, Richard Hodgson has steered it right down the swanny with his supermarket mentality of shafting everyone in the quest for every penny of profit. Well congratulations, you’ve alienated your customers and your staff. Absolute imbecile.

Bathgate super service

I visited Yo Sushi Bathgate in the Tesco store. The young lady serving the counter, despite working on her own, provided me quick efficient service and a really tasty meal. I watched a few minutes as she served a few customers with the same politeness and efficiency. I was amazed she could do this all on her own - well done whoever you are, I will come back again to your store.

Good service

We have been to YO Suchi, at Heathrow Terminal 3 today. We had a fantastic experience, my son loves Suchi and Tati was a great server. She was always around and took care of us.

Usually buy a Seafood Soup

Usually buy a Seafood Soup & Chicken Katsu Curry but tried a chicken teriyaki today.

Disappointed with the chicken content. Feels as if I paid £12 for a bowl of Rice. Not impressed at all
