Do not use if you want to change car mid-term…
Went to change my car mid-term on the portal from a F Type Jaguar to a Mercedes C300 (so a more common car with less power). Could not do on the hub so called them. Was told they don’t insure this car! So I had to pay a cancellation fee (it wasn’t me that cancelled, it was them). Also have lost a years NCB as the policy finished mid-term. Nothing else was changed, only changing cars. Found insurance with Allianz right away at a lower cost than my Zenith policy. What a cob. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CHANGE YOUR CAR MID-TERM. I will be informing all the car clubs I am a member of to ensure others don’t use this company!
Update: They called me today to explain they could not insure the Mercedes as their underwriters don’t insure this vehicle. However they agreed to refund me the cancellation charge as a goodwill gesture. The lady on the phone was very good. I will update again when I receive the refund etc.
2nd Update: Refunds duly received as expected.

We understand how frustrating it can be when expectations aren’t met, especially when it comes to something as important as your insurance cover. While we aim to accommodate vehicle changes where possible, there are occasions where certain makes and models fall outside of our underwriting criteria. These decisions are based on a number of factors, including risk profiling and insurer guidelines.

I had my renewal for my insurance come through from my previous insurance company. I thought i would try comparison sites and zenith were not the cheapest but offered better cover and extras. I decided to give them a go it was easy to follow on there site and saved me over £100

Worst company i've ever dealt with
Worst company i've ever dealt with. Portal is a disaster. Needed to cancel after 4 months cover and paying premiums monthly. charged for future months cover + cancellation fee of £45 together with an intermediary charge of £35. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! A 35 minute phone call to obtain an invoice of charges and reluctantly they agreed although still waiting.

Terrible experience today by the…
Terrible experience today by the Webchat - First it took me over 30 minutes for the Webchat to actually load. Then I spoke with an agent called Shannon, who said it would cost £150 to change my Surname!! How an insurance company can try a charge this price is beyond me. I then asked to have someone call me to discuss this and apparently this also isn't an option. Just to hit the nail on the head - she ends the chat!!
Strongly advise not to use this insurance company as they just try to make money out of you.

We’re sorry to hear about the premium difference when your quote was in your maiden name and increased when your name was corrected to your married name.
Changing the marital status and/or name within your policy is a risk effecting factor. The reason the premium can change is due to the soft credit search performed against the names within the policy. This along side the other factors that are calculated on the live rates of the policy, would effect the premiums offered for your policy.

Simply don't bother with this company
Had to leave 1 star as it won't let me leave none. Simply don't bother 3 phone calls asking for me to contact them and on hold for ages. Won't accept proof of no claims sent in also wanted proof of no claims from other vehicle policy's as I also have a car policy and 2 motorcycle policy's. In the end I just told them.to cancel the policy which had not started and paid the £25 setup/ admin fee,let's see how long it takes for the refund.
