Disappointed with Cosentino Silestone Worktop and Kitchen Salesperson

I am incredibly dissatisfied with the Silestone worktop I purchased less than six years ago from a Kitchen Provider, as well as the misleading information provided by the kitchen salesperson. Despite their claims of durability and a 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects, the reality has been quite the opposite.

02/04/2025 One Year Later still no response from them and four attempts going through their website as advised . Emails ignored also

Within just two years of installation, the worktop began showing signs of chips and staining, which Cosentino and the kitchen salesperson conveniently attribute to "negligence" on my part due to scale buildup. This accusation is baseless as the same issue does not occur anywhere else in my kitchen or utility. It is clear that the Silestone material is faulty and does not live up to its advertised standards of durability.

Furthermore, the worktop has already chipped, despite being marketed as highly resilient. This is simply unacceptable given the amount I paid for what was supposed to be a premium product. Had I been informed that staining and chipping were common weaknesses of Silestone, I would have never chosen it.

Comparatively, my previous granite worktop, which has endured heavy family use for over 16 years, shows no signs of chips or staining. The stark difference in durability between the two materials is glaring and speaks volumes about the poor quality of Silestone.

I am deeply disappointed that Cosentino and the salesperson refuse to take responsibility for their subpar product and instead choose to blame the consumer. It is disheartening that they prioritise deflecting accountability over honouring their warranty and acknowledging the clear shortcomings of their product.

In conclusion, my experience with Cosentino Silestone has been nothing short of regretful and frustrating. I strongly advise potential buyers to thoroughly research and reconsider before investing in Silestone, as my experience indicates it does not live up to its promised standards of quality and durability.
Thank you for responding to my review here, but I find it deeply frustrating and disingenuous that you are asking me to get in touch when I have already written to you, emailed, and called multiple times without any response.
IN REPLY TO YOUR RESPONSE
This appears to be an attempt to create the appearance of good customer service publicly, while in reality, my concerns have been completely ignored. I am still waiting for a resolution to my issue, and I will not be contacting you again through the same channels that you have already failed to address.

To anyone reading this, be aware that this is not an isolated incident. My experience, along with others I’ve seen online, suggests a pattern of neglect when it comes to addressing legitimate warranty claims and concerns about product quality.

I hope this public review prompts Cosentino to take real action instead of just offering empty replies. I stand by my dissatisfaction with their service and product quality.

Pessimi

Top della cucina pagato circa 3mila euro arrivato difettoso. Segnalazione fatta immediatamente, ma ci sono voluti quasi 6 mesi per avere una risposta dopo essere stato costretto ad agire per vie legali. Alla fine mi è stato proposto un intevento di sostituzione che avrebbe generato danni ultetiori al resto della cucina, oltre ad ulteriori ovvi disagi. Millantano di essere una grande azienda che pone il cliente come obiettivo primario ma la realtà è che sono superficiali e menefreghisti e una volta intascati i soldi abbandonano il cliente. Un'esperienza pessima. STATE ALLA LARGA DA QUESTA AZIENDA. NON LA CONSIGLIEREI NEMMENO AL MIO PEGGIOR NEMICO.

Cosentino quartz kitchen sink…

Last night, our Cosentino quartz kitchen sink spontaneously cracked less than three years after installation. The sink was empty and had not been used for several hours. I am please to report that after some back-and-forth, the company decided to replace the sink under warranty.

Muy mejorable atención al cliente

La calidad e imagen de excelencia que buscan dar, no se corresponde con el trato al cliente cuando ya ha pagado. Han tardado semanas en traerme una encimera de precio también excelente, me han dejado plantada en una ocasión y ni una llamada de explicación; al contrario, no se respondían a las llamadas. Aún no hemos terminado, pues tienen que traer una pieza corregida.

I really wish I'd read these reviews before spending thousands of pounds on a Dekton worktop. It's not the durable product it's made out to be. The edge of mine chipped with the easiest of knocks. Of course they rejected a warranty claim stating accidental damage. Warranty only covers manufacturer defects. Well if it isn't a manufacturer defect that allows such easy chips then I don't know what is. Absolutely avoid.

Dekton se raja con la caida de un simple vaso de agua

Hace 2 años nos instalaron una encimera Dekton en la cocina. Con la simple caída de un vaso desde el escurreplatos se ha rajado a la altura del fregadero. Los vendedores nos recomendaron esta encimera porque era muy dura y aguantaba muy bien los golpes y la temperatura. Hemos hablado con su comercial en Valladolid y nos dice que eso no lo cubre la garantía que, según publicitan, es por 25 años. Si un hecho de lo más normal como la caída de un vaso no lo cubre la garantía, pueden dar 25 o 250 años de años de garantía que da igual... Evidentemente voy a publicar este suceso en todas mis redes sociales y páginas de internet del ramo, incluyendo las fotos, para que nadie vuelva a cometer el error de instalar una encimera Dekton en su cocina engañado por los vendedores como que es una encimera durísima. Purchased silestone worktop through…

Purchased silestone worktop through Howdens kitchens. Within 3 months white scratches on the dark worktop have occurred where we have a smooth wooden chopping board. These manufacturers will not repair or replace and are claiming we have caused the scratches by putting items on the worktop. The claim of durability is rubbish, surely it is normal use to have a chopping board on your countertop? Avoid at all costs! Appalling company.
Edit to update: 8 months! after leaving this review cosentino have replied with a generic response. For information cosentino, my first step when I noticed the damage was to call the company the worktop was supplied through (ie through point of sale) and they contacted yourselves ( presumably your technical team) and you looked at photos and
refused to do anything and denied an issue with your product. 8 months on from my original review, my opinion is unchanged, this product is not fit for purpose and scratches and chips under normal use (eg a ceramic mug being knocked over on the worktop, a knife falling from a chopping board onto the worktop (ie a couple of centimetres), a wooden chopping board moving slightly on the worktop)

If I could give them a minus I would…

If I could give them a minus I would do. We bought Dekron Sysea worktops which cost us thousands of pounds. 2 pieces were perfect but the main island top and another worktop have very noticeable faults in the print and a Cosentino representative came to inspect and put in his report admitting he too would not be happy if it was in his house. Cosentino would not replace even though it is an obvious fault and so we either have to live with it or pay out again for more new worktops. Avoid anything to do with this company. I only wish I had read the reviews before buying. A very expensive mistake.

Terrible Workmanship

On 10-21-23 I contracted with Lowes to do a Granite countertop. Approx. 2 weeks someone out to measure and template the countertop. While I was waiting these two weeks, we refinished the cabinets to match our new countertop. I received a phone call about two days later from a company called Toledo Custom Countertop. They said they cannot install granite as a full height backsplash due to the weight and they have told Lowes this multiple times. We then had to pick another color which Lowes said they would pay for the cost differences because kitchen was already painted for the countertop color sold. We picked a new countertop color and Toledo Custom Countertop came to install the countertop on 12-5-23. After install I notice small chips around the sink area and the sink does not look properly sealed. They then came to install the backsplash on 12-12-23. The back splash had electrical outlets which I removed. On 12-14-23 I could not reinstall the outlets due to being cut out of square and not straight. I contacted Toledo Custom Countertop at approx. 430pm the same day, I was told they would talk to their team and get back to me. On 12-15-23 I never received so I contacted Lowes, and they opened a work order. Upon further inspection of the countertop, I have many issues with the work. The countertop edge does not match the backsplash edge, The sink still has chips all around the edges, sink not properly sealed, electrical outlets not straight or square for electrical box extensions, backsplash is not cut straight where the microwave is installed. It is tight to the microwave in the middle and has gaps at the end. The gap is so if the microwave goes bad it can be removed without chipping the backsplash. Lowes said the contractor would be calling me no later than 12-18-23. I never received a phone call; I reached out to Lowes, and they were shocked that I never heard back from the contractor because the closed the service order out. They manufactured the Countertop

Cosentino London City Centre showroom - poor visitor experience

I visited the Cosentino London City Centre showroom and had the misfortune of interacting with their extremely rude ‘City Centre Manager’. Having intended to leave a negative review of this awful experience (and subsequent unpleasant email exchange), I have inadvertently discovered all these bad reviews of their Silestone product, which I had been thinking of using in my renovation project. I ought to have done some prior research anyway, but thank goodness I came to this site to leave a review. Having read all these negative reviews I will be completely ditching Silestone and will absolutely not be installing it anywhere in my home. In the end thank goodness I had not purchased their product and that rude individual has actually saved me from a potentially even worse situation.

AVOID Cosentino/Dekton!!

If I could give Cosnetino 0 stars I would but that is not an option.
We purchased our Dekton counter just over a year ago. Recently it chipped however we have not done anything to cause this chip, nothing has struck or impacted the counter.
Cosentino have however refused to repair the damage under their warranty and have "diagnosed" the damage as something we have caused, which is categorically incorrect.
Clearly their product is not fit for purpose and their warranty isn't worth the paper its written on.
Horrendous customer care - happy to take your money and then demand more money to fix damage that is a result of poor manufacture.
Avoid avoid avoid.

Buyer Beware. Bad product. Worse customer service

Honestly the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. 25 year warranty is useless. Staff do not return messages, shift the problems along and just act like once sold to you its no longer their problem.  Fabric is brittle and not hard wearing. Looks great in showrooms but not practical for everyday use in a kitchen. Do your self a favour, dont be misled by their claims. Buy granite instead. To be honest laminate would be harder wearing than this rubbish.
