Easy to set up- no hassle sim included and therefore no subscriptions so really cheap for the lifetime of the tracker.

Unreliable. Unusable.

Sorry, I have to give a bad review. For more than a year the Gemstone tracker constantly keeps showing "poor reception" and there is no connection with it, no matter whether it is in a bike, in my pocket, next to the WiFi router, in a car-under a large sunroof ... in the city, on the highway, in the forest. It just doesn't connect to the GSM network, or if it does - it is sporadically, incidentally and very rarely. And this has been happening during the premium plan, when the tracker is supposed to use WiFi-s to determine its position.
For the last month it is in my car and crossed the whole country several times and through that time it sent not more than 5-6 positions, while in LIVE plan. It never reacted to shaking through that period. The people in the office were somehow helpful and we changed the battery several months ago and it is all the same.
I am still keeping it just to keep me annoyed :), but I am not using it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am truly sorry to hear how frustrating this has been for you – especially after using the tracker for such a long time.
I would like to clarify a few technical aspects, as they may help explain what you are experiencing. I can see that the tracker is doing what it should when you switch modes and is also sending signals, but there may be dropouts if all conditions are not met for the reasons below.
How positioning works
Our tracker determines its position using a combination of:
GPS (satellite positioning)GPS requires a relatively clear view of the sky. Signal quality can be significantly reduced in:Even a car roof can reduce satellite visibility, and some modern windscreens block GPS signals more than expected.
Urban canyons (narrow streets between tall buildings)
Dense forests
Underground car parks/basements
Inside vehicles, especially if located low in the cabin, inside metal compartments or under coated/thermal windscreens
GSM (mobile network) After obtaining a position, the tracker must connect to the GSM network to transfer the data. If GSM coverage is weak, congested or unavailable, the tracker may: Wooded areas, country roads, underground locations and even certain urban areas can cause unstable GSM connectivity.Display ‘poor reception’Attempt transmission multiple timesStore data and send it later when the signal improvesWiFi scanning (WiFi sniffing) – available on the Premium subscription The tracker does not connect to WiFi like a phone. Instead, it scans nearby WiFi networks and uses their IDs to estimate the location via a global database. Important points:
It requires detectable WiFi networks nearby
It still requires GSM to transmit the position afterwards
So even with WiFi positioning enabled, GSM connection is still necessary. BG

Grazie per il tuo messaggio.

Vedo che ci hai contattato poco dopo aver installato il tracker. Fino a quel momento il dispositivo aveva inviato correttamente le posizioni. Successivamente, però, sembra che sia stato posizionato in un punto da cui non è riuscito a trasmettere il segnale.

È importante capire come funziona il GPS:

Il tracker deve prima ricevere il segnale dai satelliti per calcolare la propria posizione. Questi segnali sono molto deboli e richiedono una buona visibilità del cielo. Se il dispositivo viene posizionato sotto metallo, all’interno di spazi chiusi, in profondità nel veicolo o in un’area con molta schermatura, può avere difficoltà a ottenere il segnale GPS.

Successivamente, la posizione deve essere inviata tramite la rete mobile. Se la copertura è scarsa o il segnale è bloccato dall’ambiente circostante, il dispositivo non riesce a trasmettere i dati.

Ciò significa che sono necessarie sia una buona ricezione satellitare (GPS) sia una buona copertura di rete mobile per garantire un funzionamento corretto.

In questi casi, spesso si tratta semplicemente di provare diverse posizioni fino a trovare quella con la ricezione più stabile. È del tutto normale dover fare qualche prova iniziale, e può capitare che il primo posizionamento non sia quello ideale.

Ti consiglio quindi di provare a collocare il tracker in un punto con migliore accesso al segnale, ad esempio vicino a un finestrino o in una zona con meno schermatura metallica, e di fare un nuovo tentativo.

Resto naturalmente a disposizione se hai domande o hai bisogno di ulteriore supporto.

Netter Kontakt zum telefonischen Kundenservice. Der Batterietausch bei unserem Cobblestone Trackers ging sehr schnell, vom Versand hin und zurück zum/ vom Händler, bis zum eigentlichen Batteriewechsel. Bin sehr zufrieden.

The tracker worked fine for about 2…

The tracker worked fine for about 2 months. Then it stopped sending a position. Support told me that I need to be close to wake it up?? This wasn’t possible as the tracker is on a boat. After a few months and back on the boat all efforts couldn’t make it work again. This is an unreliable product which doesn’t live up to expectations. CPH now asks for order number which they apparently can’t find in their system…. This is idiotic and just bad support or negligence (or both)

If the tracker has been working for around two months and then suddenly stopped transmitting, as you describe, this is exactly why we suggested going through some troubleshooting steps. The purpose is to identify the cause and ensure that we provide you with the correct solution.

Neuer Gemstone-Tracker liefert falsche…

Neuer Gemstone-Tracker liefert falsche oder keine Daten. Support von Copenhagen-Trackers kommt in Dänisch (was mein Übersetzungsprogramm nicht kann) und es wird mir nur ein nicht funktionierendes Formular als Hilfe angeboten. Bin enttäuscht, da mein alter Copenhagen-Tracker mehr als 8 Jahre einwandfrei funktionierte.

My tracker stopped sending location

My tracker stopped sending location. I contacted the customer service and they immediately replied with an option to send the tracker back to them (free of charge) and send me back a new one as soon as they received the non-working one. In the meantime they continued good communication via email.

I was very satisfied with the support they offered.
The new tracker is already with me and working.

Die Ware wurde per GLS verschickt.

Die Ware wurde per GLS an eine Paketstation gesendet. Dadurch entstanden zusätzliche Fahrkosten und die Lieferung verzögerte sich um 3 Tage, wegen deren Öffnungszeiten.
Bisher wurden mir Waren anderer Versender per GLS direkt zugestellt. Warum diese Umstände bei Kopenhagen Tracker?
