Online check didn't work
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I could not complete the DBS check online. They also couldn't tell me why it failed. I had to drive an hour, and my organisation had to manually enter my information. This process didn't even take 5 minutes. Afterwards, they said that this happens to a small but significant number of people. At least I got the certificate in the end, which is a consolation.

We understand how frustrating it can be when a Digital ID check fails. In rare cases, this can happen for example if the system is unable to match your face scan with your passport photo, sometimes due to factors like glasses or headwear.
As a result, we are required to follow Government guidelines and proceed with a manual identity verification. This means your employer must review your original documents to ensure compliance and complete the identity check through our portal.
We understand that traveling to your employer’s location may be inconvenient, especially if it is an hour away, and we sincerely apologise for any frustration this may cause. However, these steps are essential to meet legal requirements for DBS and identity verification.
