This was my first holiday on my own, (as my husband has Parkinson’s ) we have been away with you a lot of times together, I was a bit nervous, but Sharon and Dave Wilson were wonderful, everyone I met was really nice also the hotel was lovely, Also I would like to mention the taxi driver that picked me up from crowborough to take me to east grinstead the coach was late and the taxi driver offered to buy me a coffee, also on the way back I had the same taxi driver who took me right to my car and waited until I went before he left, I know the taxi firm came from Crawley, it would be lovely if you could send my thanks to him

Potters & coach journey
The driver & rep on the coach were really good, but the journey time was far too long 7 hours going to Potters Five Lakes & 9 hours on return journey, due to not being able to get a slot at Beaconsfield Service Station at an earlier time so had to go to a garden centre to use up time until our allocated slot. The resort was very nice our rooms were excellent,food & entertainment also really good.

Nightmare in Torquay…
Brand new coach took us to Burlington Hotel Torquay. Although the staff were nice and the food was good the hotel was worn out and tired. It's half a mile from the centre though described as 'close'; there 14 steps down to the dining room and no lift which was a killer for our mainly elderly party; the furniture was old and tired in our room (the wardrobe was DIY and you couldn't easily reach the rail; the shower had no hot water and only two tiny soaps were supplied and the rest of the en-suite was best forgotten with a loo so low it was difficult to use. Our second experience of a sub-standard hotel from Grand UK. The Warners option seems to be the only one that delivers a reasonable standard as I am sure Grand UK do not check their hotels themselves, otherwise they wouldn't send guests to them. Also the three visits on the tour were sandwiched into three consecutive days which was tiring and left you with perhaps a rest day and one day to see Torquay which was a bus ride. By the way there is another Burlington hotel in Torquay 'The Burlington', considerably better than this one, which several guests had mistaken for our one and had brought swimming things for a pool that didn't exist.
After several Grand UK holidays this was the final straw: why should we go to accommodation which is inferior to our homes and put up with such poor standards of accommodation, just to get a holiday?

We were sorry to learn of your disappointment with the Burlington Hotel, as this property has been a firm favourite with our customers for many years. We offer two different hotels in Torquay and the Burlington is the more affordable option. While we accept the hotel is a little tired around the edges, it is clean and often receives praise for its warm family welcome, home-cooked food, and nightly entertainment.
The hotel no longer has a swimming pool and we haven't advertised this anywhere for several years, so I am sorry you were expecting to find one. We were concerned to learn you were without hot water as we were unaware of any problems with the boiler during your stay. We will of course pass this information back to the proprietor to look into.
We do check the hotels we use and a member of our team was last at the hotel early in October.
Thank you also for your feedback regarding the tour programme, which we will pass on to our Product Team. We generally offer three excursions to ensure our clients get to see as much of the area they are visiting as possible, however, there is no requirement to take part in these if you would rather spend time in the resort.

Disappointed
We did the same trip last year which was great but we were disappointed this time, the journey there and back was extra long with coaches not synchronising, when we arrived at the hotel we were given a small room at the back that looked out onto the fire escape it was quite dark and dingy,the shower was tiny and not very efficient, but the beds were clean and comfortable, the food was lovely and the staff were great, but with the lift still not working the hotel is not suitable for the older people who visit via the coach trips,a shame but we will not be returning

White Heather Hotel was our base…
White Heather Hotel was our base ,excellent food and accommodation, staff were brilliant, being disabled Sam the receptionist deserves a medal.so helpful.food was excellent, This was our 2nd holiday here. Despite no lift at present, would have no hesitation on returning or recommending white Heather Hotel fantastic week.

Service needs improving
Catherine our tour guide was great so was the driver and the hotel was excellent but the pick up points were awful changing the pick up point without telling the customer if they had picked the right pick up point the journey would not have taken so long

Our guide Emma was excellent, with a detailed local knowledge and good humour. Our driver Pete was also brilliant, with humour and great skill. The landscape was stunning and we were lucky with the weather.

The Tour was great
The Tour was great, wonderful train journeys and scenery. Hotel very good and food also great. The thing that spoiled it was the Itinerary which left no time for lunch each day.The stops were either too early or too late. Dinner at 7 15 I felt was very late. The Courier was incompetent telling us nothing on the excursions.

Excellent very knowledgeable guide and driver, they had a good working relationship. Very comfortable hotel, food choice good and plentiful. Bar had limited choice. One of our bedrooms was cold
Most trips worked well but personally would have preferred to have more time in some cities rather than visit a place for an hour for say only lunch, e.g. only time in Durham for lunch and visit the cathedral no time to see rest of the city.

The feeder coach and Gold coach was…
The feeder coach and Gold coach was very comfortable and on time. The hotel was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. The holiday was good. I enjoyed the break away. The day's I enjoyed the best were Lake Windermere and half day at Lancaster City which I thought should have been a little longer to have a look around. The Lancaster Castle was a great place to visit.

Burlington Hotel Torquay
The food and staff at the Burlington Hotel in Torquay was very good but the bedrooms were in need of a bit of tlc. The bed was clean and comfortable but decor was shabby, carpets grubby, and inside and outside in need of a paint.
Entertainment was good.
Dave our driver and Angie our courier were both excellent and outside the hotel our holiday was first class.

Ilfracombe holiday
Alex (driver) and (Wendy) tour manager where superb couldn't wish for better and hotel staff very polite and friendly food good,but the dilkhusa grand hotel certainly isn't grand it is the worst hotel I have stayed in far to many stair's windows filthy and unable to open for Ventilation.
