Cardiff bay tavern.

Terrible food and service. Avoid!

Visited the green kings pub called the kings head at Hoveton. The place was heaving. The staff at the front desk explained the wait time for food. That estimate was spot on and accurate. The wait was worth it because the food was lovely, All staff were following Covid rules and very friendly. Worth a viisit.

Went in Saturday night and bought a pint of Tennents lager which was delivered to my table with no head no gas and completely flat. I "was" a regular customer for the past 4 years. I left in total disgust and walked 50 yards down the high street to The Captain Lang pub where for just £2.25 a pint I received grade A superb pints all night long. The head was like thick cream and the pints were delicious. I will NEVER set foot in a green king pub again, I suspect they are serving up lager bought before the lockdown last xmas. GO AND HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME YOU RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!!!

Booked a table at the hungry Horse in whistable, on arriving I was told they have no booking in my name, I showed them the email confirming my booking and was told I could have a table outside if I wanted ( lucky I wasn't raining) . Due to Covid rules had to order using Green King's app, had a nightmare getting the app to accept my payment details, finally managed to place the order only to receive something completely different to what was ordered, when pointed out this was not what i ordered, I was told" sorry but what you ordered was not available" they didn't even think to come ask if the substitute was acceptable!, Just cooked it anyway and assumed I would be ok with it. This is simply the worst customer service I have experienced. On a plus note the food I received was cooked well.

Have just been to TheMartletts in Bognor and a friend says it was the best fish and chips she has had, my curry was fine, service with a smile and I could order at the bar, not very good with apps!

I have just experienced the most horrid unprofessional manager of the Bay Horse public house, Chelmsford, Essex, Moulsham street.
Don’t even drive near the car park because they have a manager behaving like a silverback gorilla, throwing his weight around. Please remove this person, or he will ruin your business it would be a shame for the whole team if he bankrupts the pub. GREENE KING, you seriously need to get a grown up, professional person who understands the industry he is employed in. This profession requires, patience, compassion, respect, politeness, decorum, ability to talk down irate customers/staff, duty of care and most importantly being kind.
HE IS A DISGRACE!

Been to the Greene King (twice) at Hartford Mill, Wyton near Huntingdon and the service and staff were great.
We had to order using the app and that was relatively easy.
The staff were all very attentive and were always looking around to help people if they were having any problems using the app.
Great food at a very reasonable price.
Would recommend

Just been today to the Flying Saucer Pub in Hempstead Gillingham with my son and two grandchildren. Staff were really friendly and we really enjoyed our food. Very good service.

Uninterested staff who looked like they preferred furlough

I had tried to call the hotel every day from booking on 11/5/21 until the day before our stay 20/5/21 to book a table for dinner on 21/5/21, each day I got an answering machine stating that the hotel was still closed with limited access to the answering machine. As we had a room booked for Friday 21/5/21 I left a message the day before asking for a call back to book a table, I also called Greene King reservations to ensure that the hotel was definitely open, I was assured that it was open but that the restaurant was full on the date of our stay. I had only booked that hotel so that we could eat there but unfortunately the day before was too late to cancel free of charge.
We were met by an uninterested member of staff on reception who gave us the keys without any explanation of where the room was and when we asked if she could book us a taxi she stated "We don't get involved with that sort of thing" and passed us some taxi numbers. This certainly did not make us feel remotely welcome.
We ordered a taxi to the Fish Inn, where we could get something to eat, and made our way into the bar to get a drink beforehand. in the bar the fiasco continued, uninterested bar staff standing around looking at each other, we were informed that we could not sit down for a drink as the tables were all reserved for meals even though at least 3/4 of the tables were unoccupied in fact the pub was virtually empty, we were also told that reception do not allow any bar bill to be charged to the room.
We went to the Fish Inn for dinner which was lovely with friendly staff who made us welcome, then we returned to The St Leonards!
We walked into the bar and asked for a wine list which we were given but no one then came to take our order, we gave up and went to bed.
The room was very clean but the pillows were awful, hard and uncomfortable, I slept most of the night without a pillow and both of us woke up with stiff necks.
No one was on reception the next morning, we left our key on the desk!

We booked a table at farmhouse exmouth. For 7pm we're there on time . It was not packed out .in to covid standards. We waited over 1 hour for food .some came out cold . Then another hour for desert. Very disappointed with staff. Nobody taking charge . With complaints ....allways ate here .Will not in the future . Needs some one who knows what there doing. Would not recommend eating there . So sorry but used to be a very good place to eat .not now .unhappy customers

Most of their pubs have decent service, food, and prices. There have been occasions where these pubs haven’t delivered the customer service you’d expect, and there have been some stories about the company that former members of staff have told me about which leads me to think that these guys aren’t as ethical as you’d think.

Give them a try and see what you think, there isn’t much that can go wrong.

Brindley farm Stoke on Trent. We paid a visit today and Charlotte, JazziH and Chris at the carvery.
They were excellent at service, polite, smiling and attentive. They are really good workers and mad us feel comfortable.

Went out for a meal & a drink at the Broad Oak Strelley on the evening of 5th May. No heaters outside.
Ordered a Chickpea & Sweet Potato Curry and a Chicken Tikka Masala.
The rice was cold when meal arrived & both currys were very bland, the chicken was tasteless & of poor quality. The Naan Bread in parts was hard.
The only reason I've given 2 stars is the staff were polite and the Counterpoint Chardonnay was very nice.
Unfortunately we won't be returning.

So greeneking show their true colours .so after i was threatened and insulted by a manager from one off their pubs ( barley farm,eccles) Guests relations chose to ignore my complaint.
So shows how they do not care about tbeir customers or customers experience @ their establishments .
Greeneking proves they are another greedy company only intrested in money & not hospitality experiences .
So they have protected & shielded a manager with no customers skills who as broken several hospitality uk law rules .so he should have faced gross misconduct procedures but instead gets away with being rude,obnoxious and bullying staff & customers .
Greeneking have seen several reviews from various customers on various sites condoning the behaviour of this manager.
How do greeneking fix this .
Try silencing me from fighting for my right.
HAVE GREENEKING even appologised for their staff making a threatening & abusive phone call ????No ..
How disgusting. What a poor show from such a big company to try and silence the customers.
I will now take this to all social mefia formats,reviews and local papers
So customers are aware how greeneking are not interested in their customers or views.
Only happy to ENDORSE bullying and threatening behaviour from their staff towards customers
Greeneking you should be ashamed of this treatment
Not family orientated or a family friendly atmosphere
As longbas you dont say anything about bullying management as greeneking will support them over the customers.
I will ensure people avoid barley farm whilst the bullying management team are still in place

Went to the trumpet on Christmas Eve 2020 with my then girlfriend whose social bubble I was in for the festivities. She being from Northampton and me coming from Leicester.
On our arrival we were greeted by the remarkably unhappy persona of the landlady who was obviously not happy with having to work on Christmas Eve, especially with the pub being empty.
She greeted us with ‘two things he needs a mask and also he is barred for being abusive to the bar staff with a couple of friends’
Remembering I was from Leicester and had only ever visited this place with the then girlfriend and never with a couple of friends, tried explaining this but she was adamant.
She obviously halfway through the conversation realised that she had the wrong person as I can assure you I was brought up with manners,.
She didn’t have much more to say and remarkably showed us to the pre booked table, threw down the menu’s and said ‘you can order drinks once you’ve ordered a main meal’ and stormed off.
Now correct me if I am wrong within the space of two minutes I had gone from being barred to being shown to the table. I asked for an apology, as she knew she had got me all wrong. She didn’t have the decency to that.
We then phoned up the Bold Dragoon around the corner and were accommodated at short notice by the new landlord/lady who saved our Christmas Eve festivities and left the trumpet with the attitude of not giving them our hard earned cash.
What a charming couple they are at the Bold Dragoon, people like that welcome and deserve your custom.
Do yourselves a favour and go straight round to them hence giving ‘olde misery’ in the trumpet a wide birth!
Had to give one star as that’s the minimum! NO STARS

Review written on 20th December. Not sure where else to leave a review, but I would like to pass on my thoughts of Greene Kings on line shop service. I ordered through this service on the 26th November, and 4 weeks later, I have received nothing!! Despite constant messages, I have had one response saying, I need to be patient and delivery will be with me soon. Worst service I have received from any business in 2020, so Greene King win my Worst Business of 2020 Award. Congratulations!

Tried a few of these pubs and have had a pleasant experience in them all

A lovely 3 courses of Christmas food & a couple of bottles of merlot 😊 we were the only customers towards the end of our meal but the service was impeccable, friendly & helpful through out . A lovely way to celebrate my fiancé birthday thank you

I've visited The Maltings, Perth often with friends and family. Everything is super here, from the welcome you get, today it was Danielle, through the service, Jenna G today. Lovely, friendly, and smiley, genuinely meant, not over the top. The food was really good too looks and tastes freshly made. Weren't rushed. Looking forward to Christmas Day. Thank you Ross and all your staff, it's a pleasure visiting.

I wouldn’t even give you a 1 star but there we go.. not impressed with how my boyfriend was treated how he didn’t get his pay when he was suppose to! Absolute pisstake. Some peoples language that was mentioned isn’t for a work place absolutely disgusting, images of the place I wouldn’t even send a prisoner to eat there! Let alone going for a nice meal out putting your datty fingers in the food that your serving!! Slagging off eachother! Isn’t a nice work place at all, telling him to Hurry up and do this job how dare you? Mind your own business!! I’m absolutely livid how he was treated and spoken to like crap over the phone by his boss, he rang up sick once’s and got a absolutely Bollocking never work there never eat there never go there end off!!!
