Probably illegal
Booked at White City (Manchester) a "Free Brake Check" on Saturday for the following Monday. Received a confirmation email as agreed.On Monday morning I received an edited email, all the same but now it had "Free Brake Check" and "Renew the rear brake pads".This was never agreed and since the email looked the same I did not notice.They made my partner pay 96£ for it.I rarely experienced such misleading and opportunistic behaviours from a company.

I only went to book for new tyres , I had no idea what I needed . The guy , Andy came out to look at my tyre , he was helpful, friendly and polite. He also gave me the customer service number to sort out my Motoring club account. He, Ryan and Chas were all cheerful , friendly and helpful. Great customer service !!

Terrible customer service from call centre where all store calls are diverted to. Despite appointments available to book for services for car speaker fittings, called Chingford store to check if this was the case and to get advice on what to buy. Customer call centre confirmed they provide service but store to call me back. Few hours later, nothing, another call, same outcome. Drove to store to be told they don't provide audio fitting service. Few days later called and customer centre confirmed Enfield store provides service. Booked appointment, bought speakers for following day. THANK GOODNESS FOR COMMON SENSE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM ENFIELD STORE. Gent called 10 mins after I booked to advise they no longer provide this service. Very professional, apologetic.....cannot blame him. He advised he would organise a refund to my card. Despite not providing services in some stores, website allows you to book appointments and buy goods for fitting...customer services confirm store fits when they don't. Halfords, you used to be a great, reliable store but your systems are woefully out of date, few years since updated. You leave customers disappointed and waste their time. I'm very grateful for service from Enfield store, having the decency and professionalism to call and explain.

I had a complaint and there is only one telphone number you can ring. I dont know where it is but they cant speak English. I couldnt understand a word they were saying. I phoned them twice no different.
I found an email address for the customer care email address somewhere in England. I emailed them with my complaint and an automatic reply came back to ring the number I had already rang. They are a waste of time.
I am going to cancel my credit card payment and see how long it takes them to contact me then!
Did not show up, no communication
Waited in all day Sunday for mobile tyre fitting appointment which never showed up. No communication to inform me that the technician was apparently off sick. Complete waste of a day and time where I could have got another mobile fitter to come. Tyre still not changed the following day, received a reduced invoice but I have already paid in full and so far have not received any refund.
Broke my car, charged me, blamed me for my anxiety
Went to a local branch to get my headlighg bulb changed, they ended up breaking my indicator bulb and charged me to fix it. I thought I was only paying for the bulb but an £11 charge for the work after they broke it is insane, I only realized after I had left and I called up their general support line, the man asked me why I even bothered paying for it, I told them I have social anxiety and situations like this stress me out, and he told me that it was my fault and "What do you want ME to do?" Your job mate?

Advice for Fraudulent.
As my experiences, I advise to not buy the car Batteries or any car parts from this scammer halford shops, absolutely scam you if you really don't want to be scammed not buy specifically car BATTERIES, completely fraud you, when you are buying a Batterie the never take the responsibility for a faulty and never ever give you a replacement Batteries, brings a lots of excuses, because the use second hand Batteries and use a chemicals in side of the Batteries to last for about one year maximum two years, while the give you five years warranty, however the give you warranty never trust them, they are lying , this is my advice to you. Best to buy from the car parts,
Why are Halfords So Bad?
I've spent the last hour wrestling with the Halford's online system trying to order a dashcam and fitting. Absolute shambles and their South African (?) call centre is just as useless.

I concur with most of the reviews posted here. Halfords are totally useless and should be avoided if at all possible. I order and paid for a new battery on line and arranged an appointment for them to fit it at 1 p.m. that day. First of all I received a text and e-mail to say that there was a problem with my order and I should phone them. Before I had a chance to do this I received another text advising me that my order was ready. Not trusting the text I braved the call centre and was told that everything was fine and my appointment was confirmed. I asked for the telephone number of my local Halfords so I could call them direct to check again. They gave me a number with the correct local dialling code, but when I called it it took me to the call centre!! They phoned through to my local Halfords and when they came back to me they said that the appointment had been cancelled as they did not in fact have the battery in stock!! They tried to get me to book for another day, but by now I don't trust them. When I checked my bank account they still have they card payment pending so I just hope they don't try and take it.
Damaged goods with missing parts
Damaged goods with missing parts. Rif off. Selling used good as new. Did not make it easy to get a replacement. Three journeys to collect one item. On the phone over an hour to resolve. Stongly advise not using WHITE CITY store Manchester.

They cannot handle complex tasks. They can just change oils. They booked my car for repairs until I found out on the day that they dont do repairs.

Excellent service on a Saturday afternoon at 2.40pm at Halfords in Shirley, Croydon.
I needed a new head and side light and Andy registered my booking and kept me informed. While Larnelle fixed it promptly in 7 mins and it cost £30. Great service. Will be returning. Thank-you. R. Wilson.
Disgusting customer care
My Sons car was ready for collection following it's MOT and a small repair, he used the Halfords close to where he work, I wanted to pay over the phone by debit or credit card or by Bank transfer for him to help him, all methodswere refused, this meant he couldn't have the car back, so had to walk in severe winter weather for 25 minutes to get to a train station, then make a 60 mile round trip the next day which was a Saturday to pay with a physical card and collect his car.
I will never use Halfords again, I usually buy bicycles for my Grandchildren from them but i won't now, not one ounce of compassion! ,I even spoke to head office and the advisor put the phone down on me.
Battery change but they then broke central locking
Halfords came to house, changed battery, car then started but key fob no longer worked to lock car. They tried blaming on key fob battery but I proved it worked using a multimeter. They had no idea what to do, no apology and just wanted to leave. Told me I had to go to Ford to re sync key fob.
Even left saying she had learned something new ie she broke the central locking.
None of customer complaint methods work, simply can't get in touch.
DO NOT ever use Halfords. Go to your local garage

I called the helpline for help with an item I believed to be faulty. The first agent booked me in twice ,to Branches I could’t get to, even though I related the postcode and address to her.. when I questioned why she booked the other branch she said ‘the one you say does’t come up on the system , you have to go to this one.. !’ I asked to speak to her supervisor and she huffed and puffed and said no, then she cut me off! The second attempt was better and I was put through to the branch I wanted but couldn’t resolve the problem over the phone nor book in with them without going through the care line again.. even this branch manager admitted the service was rubbish and suggested I use the live chat feature instead, as there would be less chance of misunderstanding as the words would be written and both parties would be understood… still waiting for a resolution as to if I can get my money back and return the item, I will NEVER buy anything online from Halfords again, the whole experience was claptrap, and the response from the inept call centre staff and rude behaviour from the first woman really p@££ed me off, HALFORDS , you need to do better.

Someone bought a £20 Halfords gift card for my son. Activation success receipt given. Tried to use gift card in Halfords and store says balance is zero???
Store couldn’t do anything, Tesco washed their hands saying the receipt states successful activation and ringing or live chatting with Halfords is diabolical - they just say they have to pass to another department. Meanwhile, Tesco or Halfords have the money and the gift card recipient has zero!

Sender for them to raise the issue as to the codes link not working on the email. My daughter did this on several occasions without any joy with the last advisement being to contact the merchant, in this case being Halfords?? How can this be right? My daughter used Klarna to provision the gift card code.. they’re responsible for the links in the email not working.. not Halfords..
To be honest this all feels very wrong and the only one in receipt of the £25 is Klarna.. at no

Wanted a new battery
Wanted a new battery. Quoted £100 plus. Then wanted £15 to fit it. Refused. Found a local supplier, strangely in my own village. Delivered it and fitted it free. Don't be fooled by these people.
Outstanding performance by the team
I can obviously only speak for myself, but in spite of which, I cannot fault the great care and attention to detail, that I found with the incredible team at, halfords, Mostyn Champneys, Llandudno. I purchased in advance of set- up, and collection, a new e bike. The staff were outstanding/ helpful/ and incredibly knowledgeable. 👏 a great big THANKYOU. 👍
