Do better Mile End The waiting times in the store…

The waiting times in the store absolutely despicable after staff saw a line heading towards the door they advised people to pay at another pay point. After 15/20 mins of people waiting to pay for items.

Customer service is not the best the staff look drained and underpaid hence the no enthusiasm to engage with customers needs

Hopefully we will see Improvement in the future I will be attending Chingford branch instead they seem more enthusiastic and provide service that serves the customer expectations

On going issue with my cycle chain keep…

On going issue with my cycle chain keep on dropping off since Halfords replaced my chain and cassette, went 2 Halfords in Shoreham as I have their cycle care plan arrived 2 get it checked out but was told there was nobody who could fix it because the person was sick so I left it at that not happy but then made an appointment with Halfords in Brighton only 2 b told there was nobody there who could have a look at the chain issue ,in the end I had 2 go else where 2 get it fixed,really poor service,cycle care waste of time and money

We took our grandsons bike in to…

We took our grandsons bike in to Sunbury Halfords to have the back wheel put on and also the chain as both had been taken off and a few parts lost. After one week we went back as we heard nothing from them. They said "oh we need to order a part it should be ready in a few days". Two weeks later I tried to get through on the phone unsuccessfully and the online chat decided to cut me off. I walked into the shop and took the bike back in the state I had left it. I took it to a local bike shop and it was fixed within 20 minutes. I certainly will not be going back.

Bought a carrera vengeance e bike 3…

Bought a carrera vengeance e bike 3 years ago outside warranty took the battery back to Halfords Llandudno thet sent it away confirmed the battery was faulty they wouldn't replace it. Recently the e bike exploded not even charging we escaped the fire luckily and currently homeless. Won't be able to go back home till March 2026

Absolutely terrible service... AVOID!

Absolutely terrible service, twice!!!

I have booked in for tyres previously and paid £5 for a 'slot' on a Saturday. I waited 1.5 hours for the tyres to be fitted.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I booked in again for tyres on the 15th November and paid £3 for my slot and arrived 10 minutes early as they requested. Once again I waited 1.5 hours. I was offered my £3 back but I explained I didn't want it... my time was more valuable.
I wanted to make a complaint as I wasn't happy but the 'ask an expert' chat function wasn't working. Therefore I rang the number instead... I agreed that they would email me so I could reply to that email with my complaint.
A day or so later I received a reply saying they would refund my £3... I replied saying have you actually read my email. I then received another email saying they would refund my £3. I can only assume it's some sort of AI robot replying to emails?

Please avoid using Halfords.

We went in to buy a car battery

We went in to buy a car battery, but the little rat like man was so rude we walked out. He told us he couldn’t remove the battery, so when my husband picked up a small screwdriver rat like man grabbed it out of his hand, and said leave that it’s mine. My husband then got a bit cross, and said what is the matter with you, we then walked off. Just before we left I apologised for my husband, and said sorry he raised his voice, but he’s a little touchy as he is going through cancer treatment. Rat like man replied by saying “I don’t care what he’s got” what a horrible little man he is. If you want customer service from Halfords in Bridgwater Somerset, don’t go there!!!

Halfords salisbury

We had to visit Salisbury Halfords today as needed windscreen wipers. Turned out it was nt that easy. Three sets of wipers later we had success. Ollie the member of staff who supported us was extremely helpful. He went above and beyond and he was a credit to the company

What should have been a simple battery…

What should have been a simple battery change turned into a seven-week nightmare.

After having a new battery fitted at Halfords Kittybrewster, my car’s computer system immediately failed. The staff admitted they’d had “problems fitting it” but couldn’t fix it, passing me from one department to another with no communication between teams.

I spent weeks chasing updates, constantly being told to “wait another 48 hours” with no real progress. I was even sent to a garage that couldn’t help because Halfords’ account was blocked due to unpaid bills. The whole process was frustrating, disorganised, and a complete waste of time.

In the end, Halfords offered £100 as a ‘goodwill gesture’, but that doesn’t come close to covering the stress and inconvenience caused.

I’ll never use Halfords for anything beyond buying basic car products again. Their customer service and internal communication are absolutely appalling.

Wanted to speak to my local store

Wanted to speak to my local store , gave a local number but diverted to a c off shore call center that gave out the wrong information.. 2nd time I've tried to use Halfords customer care resulting in the same resolution.HOPELESS

PLEASE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Messed my daughter about by refusing to look at her car when she turned up pre-booked at cribbs causeway Bristol.
Then had to wait weeks to rebook at Downend road Bristol, who failed to do prepaid work and over quoted for a simple job but couldn't do it for nearly a week.
Absolute unreliable overpriced under skilled poor communicating cowboys.

And the store (not the garage) at cribbs causeway stole my prepaid for reserved motorbike helmet and 'cancelled' the order and refused any refund for goods not received, despite them initially confirming a collection time and that the helmet was ready to be collected, before they cancelled it. They owe me £60.

PLEASE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Guilt-trips, dishonesty and Obscurantism

Staff at Halfords New Malden, Halfords Twickenham, as well as their customer service channels, are an utter embarrassment. They have lied and stated I have illegally modified my e-bike, which was an unrecognised brand. My bike can only be purchased from Halfords, and it is not illegally modified.

They are unable or unwilling to assist me. As soon as you come back with a problem, they will micro-analyse every detail and explain how you are in the wrong before even attempting to assist or ask follow-up questions.

It is actually because, in April, they let go of an engineer who repaired the bikes, and since then it went down the pan, with various people calling me to let me know how they could help. They call Halfords New Malden, then call me back telling me to get “independent advice”.

I have spent four months going back and forth and realised they will sell you the bike and twist everything you say to ensure you look like a Karen. It is well thought out and intentional. It cannot be possible that every single interaction leaves me feeling worse off.

It is literally a culture of zero confidence and zero discretion. It is quite clear they got their two grand from me and, as far as they, Ravi, the store manager Adam, and Quadri, as well as other NPCs, are concerned, they will simply ignore you and play dumb.

I am here writing now because they have completely failed and left me finding another bike shop willing to accept the work.

As it turns out, the more I discuss this, the more I see this is actually commonplace, and it is a surprise they keep getting away with it.

I'm going public on social media and sharing all screenshots and calls. It will make an interesting video.

Never use Halfords

I went to have my wheel alignment done at Halfords Runcorn A596-NTA, and was told, we cannot do your car as you need a complete new suspension arms, track rod ends, break discs and you also have an oil leak, the day before it had been in Halliwell Jones BMW and it had undergone a 220 point health check and was given a full green light, not only had it just passed the MOT 2 weeks prior to that, I then took my BMW 640D to Tyre Hub in Widnes for the wheel alignment and they done it straight away and at a cheaper price, they checked all the suspension and said it was all in good health and also I did not have an oil leak, how can a huge company like Halfords employ incompetent staff like that,
I think management need to revise their recruitment skills.

Stockport store never pick up the phone…

Stockport store never pick up the phone order an item no response contact help phone line for help only to be told that the Stockport store is not answering the phone so they emailed the manager to get in touch but he hasn’t simply don’t know what to do now totally disgusting customer service I will never purchase of them again 😡

I booked my car in to have a DPF flush…

I booked my car in to have a DPF flush on my Range Rover evoque it came up with two faults in the system “ glow plug & NOx sensor so obviously from this they couldn’t do the flush , they then sent me a quote ( which I didn’t ask for) for £1600 ! So I decided to take it to a Landrover specialist who told me that it wasn’t as simple as just replacing these parts and it could be faulty wiring or the Ad blue tank … so I’m very glad I didn’t take it back to those no clue idiots to rip me off .. people beware and if you take your car in for anything get a second opinion before you commit! 1 star only because I couldn’t do a No star review !

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I took my Tesla Model 3 to Halfords Swinton for an MOT and full service on Monday 25th August (Bank Holiday). My car was completely silent before, passed with no advisories, and was returned making loud creaking and clicking noises.

When I took it back, Halfords said the suspension arms were worn and advised replacement. They fitted new 3rd-party suspension arms — replacing quality Tesla parts — and later refunded me after I complained that the noise was still there. But just weeks later, Tesla confirmed in writing that those same new arms already have play in the ball joints and need replacing again, making the car unsafe to drive.

Tesla also found several faults that should have failed the MOT if they’d existed at the time, proving the checks were not done correctly. Halfords’ own regional manager admitted that “play in ball joints is an MOT failure,” which Tesla has now verified is present.

Halfords promote a workmanship guarantee, yet haven’t honoured it or refunded the MOT and service costs. They’ve also not responded about the suspension arms they fitted that now need replacing again. I rely on this car daily to take my 9-year-old child to school, Tesla confirmed in writing that driving it in current condition is at my own risk.

I trusted a national brand for safety and quality, and was badly let down.

Was told to use help.halfords.com to discuss further and have the issue resolved quicky with no direction to who to reach out to or what to do since I have already made multiple attempts to have this resolved with customer services.

Halfords Widnes Get Ten Out Of Ten

So many awful reviews about Halfords that I have to say the opposite of Halfords in Widnes. I first rang the helpline to ask about a new battery for my car, and the guy could not of been more helpful. I then went to the store where the staff were cheerful and helpful. The female staff member tested my old battery and then replaced it with a new one, giving me a choice of prices. Great service, well done Halfords Widnes

A joke company

This company is a joke. I signed up for the Motoring Club and paid my £54. Some time later I attempted to book an MOT, but couldn't do so - I couldn't log on the my account. I contacted customer services to be told that my membership had been rejected because, although I had been a member two years ago I had cancelled last year! My £54 was refunded and I went elsewhere for my MOT. Yesterday I booked tyre replacements with Halfords and asked for fitting at home. My money was taken and an appointment given. An hour or so later I was emailed and told that no tyre fitters were available in my area, and I was told I would be refunded. My initial payment was taken instantly but I'm told that the refund will take several days! Steer clear of Halfords.

my van had its mot at Aintree Halfords…by cowboys

my van had its mot at Aintree Halfords and was told it needed a rubber bush on the wish bone arm , but Halfords said it wasn't possible to just change the rubber bush so they would have to change the entire wish bone at a cost of over £250 . i found out later it is possible to change the rubber bush and that would have cost less than £100 . any way after the wish bone had been replaced my van had a knocking sound coming from the same side the wish bone had been fitted so i took my van back to be checked out 3 times in a week and on the 3rd time i was told the knocking was coming from a worn track rod end on the opposite side to where the knocking was coming from , i said why wasn't this picked up on the MOT last week, and the mechanic said he didn't know because he wasn't an MOT inspector wow !!!! , Halfords wanted another £246 to replace the track rod and track rod end , i asked would this fix the knocking he said he didn't know , but he said if they fitted the new parts and it didn't stop the knocking they would remove the new parts and fit my old parts back on with out charging me ,wow!!!!!
so i got another mechanic to have a look and he told yes the track rod end and track rod needed replacing and it should have been picked up on the MOT and also my front breaks were shot and also should have been picked up on during the MOT ,
this new mechanic only charged me £149 to replace the track rod and track rod end nearly £100 cheaper than Halfords so i had him do my front breaks too , and while doing my breaks he found that one of the new bolts on the track rod had not been tightened up to its recommended settings , so he tightened it up and the knocking stopped , never again will i use Halfords for anything a bunch of cowboys
