Absolutely beautiful food and good service, the only let down was the appearance/dress code that was not enforced, granted it was a warm evening, but that's still not an excuse to allow what they did, after looking at the website and seeing the apprent enforced dress code, we made the effort, but were surrounded by people wearing tracksuits, sportswear, gym leggings, baseball caps, shorts and dirty sports trainers.
Like I said, it was a warm evening, so I sort of expected maybe some leeway, for example for example short sleeve shirts, smart chino shorts, loose dresses.
After seeing the website and how they apparently enforced the dress code, we felt over dressed and very let down, it was like walking into a McDonald's, but having to pay hundreds for the experience.
Won't be returning, which is a shame as the food was beautiful

Bagshot branch. Staff very good / nice, quality of food was very good also, not the cheapest, but still fair value one would say. Would recommend. Inside could do with a refurb!

Although the food and service was reasonable, to be charged £13.70 for a medium size glass of Sauvignon Blanc seems somewhat excessive,especially as unless you studied the wine menu before ordering at the bar the prices are far from obvious.

Heard people rave about this restaurant so thought we'd give it a try. Well what a let down it was. The steaks are way over priced, there is nothing extra special about them than a pub steak. Doesn't come with the usual steak meal ie mushrooms onions etc. Over 40 quid for a steak can't be justified.But it does come with a wedge of lettuce (wow). No matter how you dress it up, its a bowl of lettuce. Looked at menu and left. Very over rated restaurant. Would not visit or recommend.

We arrived at the restaurant at Lowton, Warrington. The place had about 8-10 diners yet when we were seated at our table the carpet was filthy. It had food trodden into the carpet and frankly it smelled. I nipped to the ladies and on the way back to our table in the quieter part of the restaurant where nobody was sitting there was so much food on the floor it was embarrassing.
We asked to move tables as the carpet smelled really bad by the double doors at the front.
With our mains we ordered some charcoaled vegetables which were really awful, over cooked and warmed through.
We normally go to the Parbold branch but as we were passing we decided to give it a go. We won’t be making that mistake again:

I have been to Millar and Carter several times. Ifact my first visit several years ago to Newcastle got me hooked. Well all I can say is things aren't what they were. The steak is still very good but the rest of the meal tasted like it was made hours before and just kept warm. And at about £75 each it was really disappointing. So much so I have deleted the app and shall never visit again.

The minute I walked into the door at your Bessacarr restaurant I received a genuinely warm greeting & big smile from Mike. He then gave us very professional & seamless service as our waiter. It makes all the difference to feel a genuine feel on customer focus.
The food was excellent & amazing value from the lunch menu.

Went to hall place for our son's 21st & it started off great the lady who greeted us was amazing asking about allergies & talking us through the menu. Sadly it went rapidly downhill from there our starters when they turned up half were cold & we waited 50 minutes for our mains and they only turned up after we chased twice. When they did bring out the mains again most were cold like they had been sat for a while or missing the chips this is the 3rd time we have been here & will never be going back again ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!!!!!!!!

Well i had the fish and chips. The chips were fine but the fish was a disgrace. The batter was solid and the fish inside was like rubber. Honestly, it was like it had been under the heat lamps for hours.
My wife had a steak which was good.
When my meal arrived, what i thought was tartar e sauce was in fact garlic mayo, whick i effing hate but i chucked it all over my fish thinking it was tartare. So all in all my day was ruined never ever going back and thats a fact

Had a lovely evening at Miller & Carter, we was served by a lovely young lady called Holly, very polite, and a lovely smile, the chef Luke cooked my steak perfectly, Im very fussy with my food, and he cooked it lovely 😁

Food not as good as it was 4mths ago but on the whole still ok. My biggest gripe is, i get it's child friendly, but can you please ask your patrons not to allow their kids to have their phones at full volume without headphones. I dont go out to listen to peppa pig,bluey, tiktok or whatever other crap the kids are scrolling through. We went out as a family to support them in learning the art of conversation (with 2 teens) and no phones are allowed at the table. Spoiled what should have been a perfectly nice evening. Better than headphones is no phones!

After a very long working week went to M&C in Bexley Kent. Stressed us out to the max, service awful waitress had zero people skills. Have complained on their website TWICE but still no response. Terrible experience don’t waste your money going there 🤬

My daughter and husband were raving about their visit to the Wollaton branch of Miller and Carter and said they had eaten the best steak ever. So along with my other daughter bought me a voucher to use as a Father's Day treat My wife and I had two different rump steaks and sadly neither were very good. Part of my 30 day, 9oz was very chewy and in fact I had to leave two mouthfuls on the plate as I could not consume them. They lacked flavour and to me I don't think they were seasoned before cooking. The tomato had plenty of flavour but the onion was greasy. I cannot get my head around the huge wedge of lettuce with various coverings, which brought nothing to the meal. I believe it would have been better to have a mixed side salad. At these inflated prices I expected a lot more. I have had better rump steaks at my local pub for a tenner.

My husband & I visited the restaurant in Aughton this evening, for my birthday. The staff were very attentive & cheerful. Our meal was excellent & we couldn't have asked for more. Lucy was the young lady attending to us & she was charming & helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant for service, meal standard & excellent staff. Thank you Lucy for making my birthday really lovely.

We attended the newly refurbished Miller & Carter in Marlbrook. They’ve done a good job. The venue is clean and crisp whilst making you feel comfortable at the same time there was a wide variety of meal options and staff were amazing ensuring all our dietary requirements were met. Food was delivered within a reasonable time and was of excellent quality. there were different meal options presented to us for our order and staff were able to recommend different foods to suit our party. The Bar staff were able to keep up with our drink order. Dylan the bartender ensured drinks were flowing.

Our experience at the Peterborough restaurant was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We called in advance and made a reservation, but when we arrived, we were told that no reservation had been recorded. After some discussion, we were offered a table outside, which we accepted. We were then informed that if we wanted to sit outside, we had to go inside and place our order at the bar.

I went inside with my husband, our toddler, and our baby to order. Our toddler had his small bike with him and briefly rode around while we were waiting. We immediately asked him to stop, but as any parent knows, toddlers do not always respond instantly.

At that point, the manager, Brandon Walker, approached us in a very aggressive manner and started shouting at us. We politely asked whether someone could take our order outside instead, as our child would be outside with us and would no longer be inside the restaurant. Rather than trying to help or speak respectfully, he refused and continued raising his voice.

What was most upsetting was the way we were treated. Instead of calmly explaining the restaurant’s policy, he repeatedly shouted, “Leave the restaurant. Leave the restaurant.” We were made to feel unwelcome and embarrassed in front of other customers.

We fully understand that businesses have rules and safety policies, and we respect that. However, there is a professional and respectful way to communicate with customers, especially families with young children. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Combined with the fact that our reservation had apparently been lost despite being made by phone, the overall experience at the Peterborough location was unacceptable. We left feeling shocked by the lack of customer service, the hostile attitude we encountered, and the complete absence of any attempt to resolve the situation professionally.

Sadly, we will not be returning and would not recommend this location to other families.

Took a party of six to the Gloucester branch for dinner. Service was terrific; friendly, helpful and prompt. My food was very ordinary but dressed up with questionable sauces and a complicated menu. Everybody else had mixed views about their food. My Waiuku steak was over cooked (ordered medium rare, delivered medium+) and, as a result, lost all its magical qualities and tasted like any other ordinary steak. The whole idea of a lettuce wedge with its overpowering sauce was not to my taste and I declined any sauce for the steak. Chips were good, onion loaf was also good. Wine was the house Merlot, run of the mill but OK. My wife's prawns, on her salad, were simply defrosted and totally tasteless. Everyone enjoyed their puds, I enjoyed my coffee. An expensive and unsatisfactory night out!

£25 for a mediocre burger and 20 french fries., and £5.10 for a room temperature bottle of water.
