Do not use! Con artists be warned!

Do not use!!! Absolute con artists. App was frozen when I retired car so couldn't upload photos to app. But I did take some and email them. Now there photos I have no idea what they are trying to show but they are trying to charge me £900!!! The car hasn't even be cleaned. They are claiming a 2mm bit if rubber off the tire, and a scuff mark on the wheel, which I think is just mud and dust, and before cleaning they have sent me a bill for £900, saying major damage. Major damage?!?! this is all just on 1 wheel, a 2mm bit off the wheel that I'm sure must have been there where I hired the car and a 1 inch scuff which I think is mid and dust!!! They call this major damage!!! Then also adding service fee and loss of use. Absolute criminals. I wish I'd read their reviews before, almost all give 1/5 stars, say they are con artists and many have same con happening to me. Especially in the Edinburgh one had awful revires. I'd never use again, and my friend has exactly same experience. Avoid Move Mee at all costs!!!! I will be seeking legal advice if neeeded as I'm not getting conned £900.

Thank you for reviewing us here at Move Mee, we value and take on board all customer feedback.

I have investigated your review and I can see from communications and also phot evidence from both you and the location that damage was caused to the vehicle whilst you was in possession of the car.

I have also looked into the issue where you was unable to take any images at the end and we have no record of any errors occurring in the car return process in your app.

When this happens we always investigate with any damage photos from the beginning of the rental and images taken at the end, we then request more images from the customer and make a decision based on photo facts which made it clear to us that you damaged the car.

When it comes to the repair of the car, as we only have cars that are less than 3 years old we ensure that all repairs are made with the manufacturer to ensure the vehicles standard and integrity and also to ensure the vehicle maintains its guarantee. As the car which you collected was a BMW 118i M Sport as you can imagine the alloys and wheels are of a more superior quality to in the event of having the alloys and wheels repaired the cost involved can be higher.

Whilst I completely understand where you are coming from in regards to the size of the damage to the wheel, what you look at an minor damage may cause other customers not to rent the vehicle due to them seeing the integrity of the car not being 100% which can cause the location financial implications, so we always ensure that the cars are repaired after each and every rental when damage has occurred.

Also, when we do send the car to be repaired the immobilisation charges to have the car off the road and off sale, are added into the damage charge cost which can sometimes seem that the prices are a little inflated due to the days rates for each day it is off road being added.

I hope this does clarify your understanding of damage charges and how they work in car rental.

Awful experience. Beware when dealing with Move Mee!

Unfortunately, we have had a very negative experience. Booked a hire car for our honeymoon through CarJet which has turned out to be a huge mistake. Unexpectedly, we started to received emails from this company called Move Mee prior to our visit to Scotland requesting documents to verify driver identity. So far so good, we did as we were requested and at that point realised we were dealing with a 'handling agent'. We were contacted again in Edinburgh requesting credit card details for deposit of £1205. Emailed Move Mee to explain there must be a mistake as we had paid CarJet extra on booking to be upgraded to 'Platinum' package which meant the excess would be reduced and no deposit of £1205 would be taken. A very polite email was received from Gareth stating we had to take this up with CarJet who are based in Spain and supplied a phone number. He pointed out that without paying the £1205 deposit our car hire vehicle key would not be released. This phone number in Spain turned out to be defunct as many other people have reported in their reviews. I emailed Gareth and asked for another means of making contact and was given an email address with the caveat of 'not sure how long they take to respond'. Bearing in mind we were due to collect the car hire vehicle the next day, I emailed CarJet and received an automated response but nothing further. Subsequent emails to Move Mee were defensive in tone, stating it was not 'their fault' etc etc. Forgive me for saying this but you are 'guilty by association'. Do not hide behind your position of a 'handling agent' when you know full well how CarJet operate, no working contact numbers and no response to emails. In the end we cancelled the booking and did not provide our credit card details or sign any bogus agreement. Just reading all the other reviews for both CarJet and Move Mee has opened our eyes to what a scam this is for innocent people to be caught up in. It had a significant impact on our honeymoon as we were left desperately trying to find an alternative vehicle which was extremely difficult when there are so many people on 'staycation'. Move Mee your customer service and lack of interest is disgraceful. Please don't insult further with another defensive response!!

Thank you for reviewing us here at Move Mee, we value and take on board all customer feedback.

We have investigated your query and whilst we wish that all brokers can be readily available for contact sometimes the experience can fall short of what is expected.

We have also looked into the issue of them advising the insurance purchased through them would remove the need to pay a deposit on the rental, from our investigation we can see that they sell there insurance as a refund product meaning that the deposit is still payable and in the even of any damage you would be refunded by them.

Our agents quite rightly advised you to make contact with the broker as we cannot advise or amend their insurance product as we are not trained on this and also there are a completely different company.

In relation to making contact with CarJet I will raise this with our partnership manager to ensure the your comments are passed onto them.

Avoid at all costs

Paid the price for rental, then when we was at the airport a mini bus took us a 10 minute drive to our rental car. We had to pay another £240 for the car!!!!

Horrible and nothing like what's advertised

The experience was absolutely nothing as it was advertised to be. We had to wait 45 minutes at the airport for some stranger to come pick us up and take us to an off airport rental car company. Exactly the experience we were trying to avoid. We may as well have used Expedia or some broker and we would have gotten a better deal. Not to mention the rental car company took a deposit and move me tried to take a deposit also even though in the app when I selected the upgraded insurance it said there would be no deposit at all instead there were two deposits. Totally ridiculous.

The application did not work when we…

The application did not work when we were already at the place of the Halkidiki cars. But thanks to the staff of Halkidiki cars, we got help and all the same we were able to rent a car and hand it over without any difficulties.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
This guys still have my money (after 1 month and half!!).
Also: they got my money when they should have just blocked the money!!
Also: they got €200 more than the policy told me!!

I have checked your booking and I can see that you booked the car on the 14.08 for collection on the 15.08 and did not complete your details in the APP as per the terms and conditions of the booking, despite automated reminders, therefore when you arrived in Athens without a credit card in the booking for your deposit or uploaded your ID, as you can imagine no car rental company will releases a car without both of these.

Our local partners went above and beyond and had to send someone to manually hand over the car at 11pm rather than leave you without a car, this incurred a €25.00 out of hours fee, if you had completed the ID beforehand the car would have been waiting with a quick and easy click in the App.

I have checked with Zotalis cars have confirmed your deposit has already been refunded.

If you can please get in touch regarding the €200 at help@movemee.io that you have mentioned in the review as we do not have contact from you from the address in your booking.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever, we booked a car at 21:30 came at agency they said your booking it’s cancelled because was at 10am at the morning, I showed my email confirmation that is proving time 21:30 , they said it’s mistake by your company Move Mee ring them . So they ask me to pay extra 45€ to get a car doesn’t matter that I payed already 110€ for my booked car . Stay away from this company if you don’t want to have trouble stay without the car o pay 1/2 time on the top of your price !!!!!

Good But it was not a quick keyless …

Definately it was not a quick proccedure to pickup the car. a driver come and pick you up you have to sign acontract with the rental company and the app did not worked. but for the price we payed i did not expect something better.

All your details were correct in the App and I can only apologise that you had to fill in the paper work again, I have escalated this with Chalkidiki Cars to ensure this does not happen for future customers but glad to read that other than that everything went well.

CRASHING APP, NEVER GOT MY CAR

The app crashed around 4 times two days before renting the car, I've tried calling them and left them messages... NO ONE PICKED UP. At my day of arrival, the car renter said he couldn't give me the car because I reserved it from a third party, after filling in my details again, it gave me a 100 % verification and then THE APP CRASHED AGAIN. The car renter closed at 8pm, so I rented a car directly instead. Right now, movemee STILL HAS MY MONEY AND DEPOSIT and they never called back, I never received a car properly from them. DON'T USE MOVEMEE, BAD COMMUNICATION, CRASHING APP. Things that are too cheap are too good to be true. I hope I still can get my money from them soon, if not I will sue them. NEVER NEVER use Movemee, just do it the tradition way otherwise you will hate your life

Sorry to read the car rental did not go as planned, our phone lines are open 9-6 Monday to Sunday GMT, for out of hours our partners around the world are available to help with collection and 24-hour roadside assistance.

We have also checked our system for any missed calls and we can only find 2 calls made to us at 7:31pm GMT which at this time as the agent at the desk said we was closed. As you have mentioned in the review they suggested as an alternative to ensure you had a car was to make a new booking. I have spoken to the manager in Edinburgh who was dealing with you at your arrival, who helped you download the app and also assisted you in the process of trying to complete the ID.

We can also see that the ID was not attempted until after the start time. The ID is requested to be completed 24 hours in advance and we send daily reminders to download the app and also complete the ID.

As a business we strive to ensure that all our customers have a seamless experience and this is why we ensure to advise through the process in the app that the card needs to be in the name of the main driver and also put blockers in sections which triggers you to contact us in the case the app recognises that some of the terms have not been met so we can resolve the issue way before your arrival at the desk.

Another disappointment...

Contactless???
Don't be fooled.This is just another scam rental company.
Rented a car from them because I wanted to try contactless rental..but I was disappointed.
The app is not working.
Long time waiting for someone to give me the car(after 2 hours of calling without luck) and the worst of all,the car was old and dirty with scratches all over.
Just avoid them and read all the comments before you choose to rent by this company which is subsidiary of Greenmotion...So dont expect them to be professionals.

Never communicate any credit card number. They will use it for additionnal paiement even if they rent old car with 145000km with many damages and no check when you get it back with empty tank...

Please note as a company we do not pay to have reviews removed.

Thank you for taking the time to review us here at Move Mee, as you know from our telephone conversation, the reason you had to take local insurance was due to you not having a credit card for the deposit and an alternative at this location is to take out the full insurance locally to enable you to take the car.

I am surprised you mentioned the car was dirty, as on the phone you advised it was clean you just wanted a brand new car, which is impossible to provide to every customer at every rental, all our cars are under 3 years old and most have not been used during the pandemic.

Please use the App to note any damage and do the same when returning.

Your fuel is a like for like policy, so you just need to return with the same amount.

This is the worst car rental company I…

This is the worst car rental company I have ever used.
First of all, their app is not working.When we arrived at the airport we waited 3 hours to collect our car without any help.
They dont answer any calls,or emails.

We had to rent another car form another company at double the price because it was last minute rental.

AVOID THEM and read all the customer reviews.They are all true.

We used Move Mee for our honeymoon rental service and we were swayed because they seemed to be the most budget friendly option (we used a comparison website).

Upon arrival it wasn't straight forward collecting the car, we had to call the customer service line because their app was broken. It was a bit of a stressful start and took quite some time to kick off our journey.

The car itself was admittedly lovely, but we were nervous with it being a rental as it was brand new so felt super cautious driving it.

The day after returning the car, we were charged just short of £600 for damages which has left us feeling sick and extremely stressed. We could argue these damages until we're blue in the face but ultimately Move mee are without doubt a scam of a company - we cannot stress enough, please read and listen to these customer reviews.

We'll be going to the ombudsman (the BVRLA in case anyone else needs to do the same) to make our appeal and report them but in the meantime we want to warn others so they don't make the same mistake we did.

Customer service can take weekS to respond to emails (they'll say they're on holiday or out of office - but they're a tech company, surely they've heard of auto response?). When you do receive a reply, don't expect any sympathy as they're not bothered about customer relations/ gestures of good will in any kind of manner. You'll be able to witness this first hand by reading their responses to customer reviews.

Great Cars Great Service

You know its difficult with these review as its down to indervidual experience, For me Gareth was exceptional
i had questions he gave answers, & for me the team where i collected the car could not be more helpful, My issue was i had not used the app correct way & this gave issues, Location LUTON to collect from was great 5 min bus ride free of charge both ways, Collect car after app issue immediate, i even called one morning 7.45 & they took the phone !!! great cars, great service defenatly use them again
