Could have been so much more
This idea was great. For most parts it worked well. However there were a few things that took the shine off it for myself, husband and friend.
The location was quite compact. The funfair was small so therefore busy and hard to get near the attractions.
I side was smaller. The idea to add the gym and beauty school class was good, but for us didn't really work as the size of them both were too small for the numbers attending.
The set-up inside the main show area was good with the main stage Central for all to be able to see the main songs being performed. ... But no!! Quite a few of the songs were performed down off the Central stage infront of the drive-in seating, thus, out of view of half the audience and dinner seated audience. Doing ALL the songs on the Central stage, as outlines in the overview of the show online...would have worked better for the WHOLE audience.
The immersive part, for those who paid for it, worked in part. A great idea and enjoyable for those taking part. For those of us that just paid to stand and watch, not so good. The crowds of people joining I on the Central stage during reenactment scenes was so off putting and blocked the view of the performers...which we paid to see. Danny had a cigarette in his mouth for 95%of the show, why! He didn't need it! Danny didnt smoke (as much as Kinicky ) in the movie?
To end on a more positive note, great music, great performers. A very enjoyable and initive way to honour such an iconic movie
Total load of rubbish
Total load of rubbish. Chaotic performance, not a musical I've ever scene, when film being showed on screen and actors running here there and everywhere. Total waste of money. Never even stayed for whole thing was completely crap. Rather of scene wicked again. Now that's a musical. Grease is not. Total pants. Save ur money £38 deff not worth it. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
What an absolute blast
What an absolute blast! The Grease immersive musical was such a fun experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was incredible — full of energy, music, dancing and that classic Grease magic!
We enjoyed some seriously delicious burgers 🍔 and wine 🍷 while getting completely caught up in the action. It felt less like watching a show and more like being part of it!
Great food, flowing wine, fantastic entertainment and an amazing atmosphere — exactly what you want for a fun night out! ❤️
If you love Grease, good food and a little bit of chaos, this is definitely one to experience! 🎸🍔🍷

Absolutely Outstanding — An Immersive Experience Like No Other!
Absolutely Outstanding — An Immersive Experience Like No Other!
We attended Grease: The Immersive Musical last night with a group of friends, and to be honest, we arrived with absolutely no preconceived idea of what to expect. What followed was quite simply above and beyond anything we could have imagined.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Battersea Park, we had booked seated tickets in the Frosties Diner. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped straight into 1950s Rydell High. The experience begins outside with the opening sequence from the film, before leading you inside for your first glimpse of what is still to come.
Once inside the main arena, we were blown away by the staging, production and incredible attention to detail. Every element has clearly been thought through, and the way the live performance is so slickly interspersed with scenes from the original film is genuinely impressive.
We simply could not fault the production, performers or staging. The live band was fantastic, and the vocals from the performers were superb and wonderfully true to the original soundtrack. It really felt like watching Grease come to life around us rather than simply watching a musical.
The food offering in the Frosties Diner was also of a very good standard, and the service was exceptionally prompt — something that can often be overlooked at an event of this scale.
What impressed us most, though, was the sheer quality of the whole experience. It wasn’t just a performance; it was an opportunity to step inside the world of Grease and become part of it.
This is, without doubt, one of the highest-standard immersive experiences we have experienced and genuinely takes the concept to another level. Others are going to have a very hard act to follow!
A huge well done to everyone involved — performers, musicians, production team, staging, catering and all the staff behind the scenes.
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We loved every minute!
5 stars without hesitation!
Not a musical
Not a musical – more of a retro clubbing experience
I really wish someone had explained clearly what to expect from Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical, because I went expecting an immersive musical and left incredibly disappointed.
The two stars are for the talented, energetic cast and crew. My issue is with the concept, pricing and how poorly the experience reflects what is advertised.
You start by spending around 1.5 hours in a small funfair area. There are only a few rides and you have to pay extra for them. Eat before you go! As a vegetarian, the food was mediocre and expensive – £13.50 for beans, rice and three nachos, £5 chips and £4.50 for a Coke. The food advertised online certainly wasn't what we experienced.
Inside, the actual Grease movie plays on huge screens while performers act out selected scenes around the venue. From our £70 booth seats, we often couldn't even see where the cast were and spent much of the time basically watching the film. We were bored and genuinely confused about what we were supposed to be watching.
Eventually we abandoned our expensive seats and joined the standing area, which actually made the experience better because we could follow the performers. If you do go, I'd recommend standing tickets rather than paying extra for a booth.
This felt much more like a Grease-themed retro club night than musical theatre. I can imagine it being fun if you're drinking, dancing and going with a group, but as someone who doesn't drink and loves theatre, it really wasn't for me.
As a parent, nights out are precious and I came away feeling I'd wasted both my money and my evening.
2 stars purely for the cast and crew – they aren't the problem. The concept and misleading advertising are.
I went to the show yesterday and needed…
I went to the show yesterday and needed a level of assistance as I'm recovering from some health issues. From the moment I arrived, they could not do enough to make sure I was ok. Nothing was too much trouble. The cast were excellent throughout and the sets and props were fantastic. The Danny & Sandy I saw were absolutely top class, especially the dancing which was brilliant. Sandy and Rizz were real standout singers, the band was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. People have complained about the price of tickets, but for four hours entertainment, I found it to be great value. Food and drink are pricey, but it's central London so everything always is. The effort that has gone into creating this production is commendable.
Grease. Where's the poo emoji?
Probably the worst immersive event I've attended and I went to Burnt City! This was a prime example of how to take a great element of the late 70s zeitgeist (a film I love and have seen several times) and reduce it to a series of meaningless components. The cast tried. Mostly. Except for tiny-tiny Zuko. My wife summed it up best for him - "I don't think he's an actor, he was just chatting with the crew and I don't think he knows how to dance or sing". Great quote and entirely true. I spent most of the second half of the film outside, watching the actual film (albeit ruined by piping the poor quality sound track from the so-called immersive event inside) and enjoyed it far more. If you really enjoyed the film, don't go. If you want to sing along to the main tracks and can ignore that they downgraded all of the visuals, knock yourself out!
Outstanding performance
The experience was very much different to what I expected, was a brilliant production. Great music, the band was awesome, great singing and incredible dancing. Note it was 35 C and they all performed outstandingly. The staff were awesome and helped us when we needed it. One security staff member saw us struggling as our phones as they were dead, he went home during his break and brought a charger and charged one of our phones, outstanding. Phone charging was for O2 only and their dispensing machine stopped working. You couldn’t have wished for a better experience.
The Worst Show and RIP OFF in London
We were extremely disappointed with Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical at Battersea Park. Given the ticket prices, we expected a high-quality, professional production, but unfortunately it fell well short of expectations.
Rather than feeling like a polished West End-standard experience, much of the performance came across as amateurish. The immersive concept sounded exciting, but in reality it didn’t add enough to justify the premium price. We left feeling that we had paid a great deal of money for an experience that simply wasn’t good value.
There were moments where the cast showed enthusiasm, but overall the production lacked the quality, impact and professionalism we had anticipated. We had travelled expecting something special and instead came away feeling disappointed.
Sadly, based on our experience, we would not recommend it at the current ticket prices.
Food outside, but within venue (not sit down) was £4.50 for a can of Coke and £17 for a Burger with no sides - Show Tickets should be a MAX of £20 for the standard and quality of Show
Just saw the Grease secret cinema
Just saw the Grease secret cinema.
Genuinely awesome show.
I'm not a huge fan of the movie, but my wife who is, got us last minute tickets. So I went along.
Was really blown away. Wonderful merging of the movie and live performances.
I had never bothered with SC before, as I had assumed it was a bit of themed staging then watching the movie, but this was a genuinely wonderful experience blurring cinema and live performances.
To be fair, that's probably fairly easy to do with a musical movie, but was very well done.
Staging, sets and performances were glorious.
It was orders of magnitude more exciting than I expected. I went in anticipating 10s and got 1000s.
Crowd funding con men
SC was once fantastic, with elaborate productions one after the other. And then founder Fabien decided to do a crowd funding exercise. Loyal supporters of the brand poured in money and then....Fabien sells out to an American ticketing app. Loyal supporters and investors were promised a stage by stage buy out by the new owner to get some money back, which never materialised of course, with said new owner filing loss making accounts each year until the buy out period was expired. Now, of course, new owner is building permanent base at the O2 and, after last few years of scaled down poor productions, or none at all, is about to do Pirates of the Caribbean. All seems pretty convenient to me, with new owner and Fabien doing well out of the deal, and the poor old loyal brand supporters and investors getting back about a penny in the pound. Shameful on the part of Fabien and other SC directors. And new owner will no doubt keep manipulating UK accounts to show no profits here, and pay no UK tax whatsoever. I will never put another penny their way, I hope the business fails miserably.
Amazing events albeit very expensive…
Amazing events albeit very expensive and communication is terrible. the Crowd funding was a rip off. The company was sold for millions yet not 1 penny has gone back to supporters. Where did the millions go I wonder?
I awarded this company a single star…
I awarded this company a single star due to their dynamic pricing policy. Earlier in the year, I bought tickets as a birthday present at £69 each, opting for the standard tickets since it was my first time attending a Secret Cinema event (though I still don't understand what makes it secret). To my surprise, when I checked the website yesterday before attending, the ticket prices had dropped to £49! Upon reaching out to Secret Cinema, they responded citing dynamic pricing and refused to issue a refund. This first experience, unfortunately, left a sour impression on me. Additionally, the drinks and food were quite pricey. On a positive note, the event itself was impressively executed.
Fantastic Experience
Firstly, I had a great experience with their customer support team. At first they were hard to reach but actually when using their chatbot on the website you eventually can send an email to their support team and they replied within a couple of days which was fantastic. I had an incredible experience with Alex, who not just helped me with my enquire but also exceeded my expectations and helped me with vouchers and booking me last minute onto one of the last shows which was so very kind of him. I really appreciated that.
In regards to the show, I went to secret cinema the stranger things experience a few years ago and that was absolutely incredible! I wish I went 3 more times after. The set up, the characters, the interactive scenes, it was honestly mind blowing and by far the best one for me. We recently went to the Grease show which I thought was super cute! It was a little less interactive than stranger things and the set up was different but we still had a fantastic time, the actors and singers were brilliant, the shows were so smooth and you felt like you were right there, in the middle of the movie! I thought it was fantastic. I agree it was a bit cheeky having to buy extra tickets in order to go on ride (everyone could have at least one ride/activity free I feel) but equally understand this is important for them to make profit.
Overall I definitely recommend Secret Cinema to anyone! It is such a unique experience and each movie/tv show they will do will be so different and exciting! I will definitely be back!
Grease - Good fun but disjointed
The props (fun fair, school setting was amazing.) Really fun. The actors did a brilliant job when they were brought into the different scenes.
However, I felt the overall production was disjointed. The movie wasn't played loud enough inside to hear it clearly. The performers were located at different parts of a huge space which means most of the time you were not really engaged with what was going on as they were too far away to see clearly. It was also confusing whether you should be watching the movie or watching the live performances.
It would have been better if the performers were on stage as in a traditional theatre setting so everyone was more connected to the show. You want to be able to clearly see the actors. The movie screens could then hang above the stage with the volume loud enough for all to hear it. The movie should also have been paused when the actors were performing their routines so you didn't miss the movie by watching the live performers.
The cost of food was outrageous. Three burgers and drinks were £70. Should have gone to Burger King before the show for similar quality food.
There were not enough seats for the standard tickets and the VIP seats also looked too far away from the action. As a party of three we were not able to get seats together in the VIP car section. My son was bored and it didn't help that he couldn't sit down inside. We ended up leaving the hall halfway through as it was far more pleasant in the fairground and we could sit, watch and listen to the movie outside (which was audible there.)
Would I attend another 'Secret Cinema'? Probably not.
Secret Cinema has lost its soul
Having been to SC Moulin Rouge and Dirty Dancing we had extremely high hopes for Grease - how disappointed we were. The beauty of the previous shows was you were immersed in the film at the beginning, mingling with the actors, being set tasks and then being able to SIT and watch the WHOLE film and enjoy it from beginning to end. This time there was chopping and changing the film with the SC cast. (The actor playing Danny completely crucified “Sandy”). Too many screens and too many VIPs on stage, not knowing where to look and crucially , no where to sit. They crammed far too many punters in. Don’t get me started on the money grabbing cost of everything as well (£6 for a can of coke - really?!?). And the beauty of previous experiences was you had to put your phone in a pouch. There were people with phones everywhere, especially at the end, which completely ruined the whole vibe. Sadly Secret Cinema has been sold to another company and it shows. It’s completely lost its soul.
Really disappointing having attended…
Really disappointing having attended the first Grease production in Bsrnes many years ago and encouraged my friends to attend this one. Similar to other reviews, has totally lost its magic. A real shame. Expensive tickets, rip off refreshments. Felt like a tacky convention. Will never be attending Secret Cinema again. Greedy, lazy, disappointing.
Grease Musical
I went to the Grease Secret Cinema last night. As others have suggested, it was very underwhelming compared to previous Secret Cinema events, which were ran by a different team. In conclusion, I do not plan on attending another event again under this new management.
Experience: Fairground rides costed extra, despite the high ticket price. If you didn’t pay for them, there was nothing to do for the hour and a half between doors opening at 6pm and the show starting at 7:30pm.
Performance: The main actors were often singing out of tune.
Sound: The audio from the film was difficult to hear.
Clarity & Flow: It was often confusing where to look. The film would play, then abruptly stop, and actors would start singing or dancing somewhere in the venue, but it wasn’t clear where. You’d spend time scanning the distance, trying to find them. Adding to the confusion, visitors were allowed to freely wander during the performance, so it was never obvious if you were missing part of the show or if it was just a break.
Immersion: I’m not sure why this was labelled as an “immersive experience.” Aside from some themed decor and a few of the audience being pulled up on stage, there was little sense of being part of the world of Grease.
Seating: There simply wasn’t enough. Many guests were left either sitting on the hard tarmac outside or standing uncomfortably inside, trying to balance their food and drinks.
Food: I ate beforehand, but from what I saw and smelled, the pizzas were burnt, and the burgers looked dry.
Overall, the event felt disjointed, poorly organised, and lacking the immersiveness that used to make Secret Cinema special. For the ticket price, it was a real disappointment.
I loved it
I loved it! It was just the most fun we have had in ages. the finale with Sandy and Danny at the theme park was like being on set during the original filming - even better, like it was happening in real life. Completely blown away! Can’t wait for the next one.
A very poor experience.
This is our 5th secret cinema experience and it was so disappointing.
Felt like a total rip off. No interaction with cast members at the "funfair", just through the gate and left to wander around, buy a £6 can of drink or a £13 hotdog! Given one fairground ride ticket each on entry but all the rides were 3 or 5 tickets. You could purchase extra tickets at additional cost (not cheap) but in number that seemed to leave you with extra wasted tickets unless you bought even more.
We had standard tickets but dynamic pricing showed tickets at a different price to what we paid. Inside with a standard ticket there was limited bench seating. I didn't mind standing but honestly whilst the performers worked really hard the whole event was particularly lackluster and for a show like Grease that's quite hard to do. I particularly objected to being subjected to the VIPs who had paid to be up on stage at certain points, meaning we all had to watch a load of adults and kids with no talent getting what they paid for while we waited for what we paid for.
Really saddened by the whole event.
Probably won't go to another one now, end of an era.
