What a paradise! Beautiful, tranquil and so well laid out. I booked one of the little cabins. I don’t think I’ve stayed at a better “campsite” in the UK. My only comments, and they’re not complaints, are that it could do with a little more cooking options (for rainy days when it’s not possible to cook al fresco) and the option of a dimmer switch for the lights above the bed would be great. A real peach among the apple orchard. I can’t recommend it highly enough - although I don’t want to share it! 😆

honestly this place has ruined every other campsite for us - it's PERFECT!

we have been twice in the last 6 weeks- it's just perfect for us. camping pitches are huge - so spacious (we had 3 tents and 2 cars on ours and still lots of space) and the hedging means you feel like you've got the place to yourself! and because the camping pitches are elevated the views are amazing. the bathroom facilities are fab- so dissapointing to come home and have a boring indoors shower with no birdsong or sun on my face! (totally private but at the right angle a bit of sun comes through)

garden centre next door is great for breakfast / lunch & ebike hire. and literally 2 mins walk to the lyndon visitor centre and the path around the reservoir. it's just brilliant. oh- and we got a pizza delivery!

Great visit to The Hide at Manton Bay for 3 nights staying in a shepherd's hut. The hut was extremely comfortable, with the added benefit of having a bathroom in it. Used the hot tub each night, which took very little time to heat up, and sat in it watching the beautiful sunsets over Rutland Water.......fantastic!
Great location, with stunning views. Peaceful, relaxing, comfortable and will definitely return !

Booked a Stargazer tent for 2 nights for me and my girlfriend over the Easter weekend and it was an amazing experience!!! The tent was incredibly comfortable, with the firepit and views of Rutland Water being a highlight! Natalia was a great host, super easy to contact and very friendly throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend!

Location is just perfect. Watch the sunset and the sunrise. Watch the mist on the resovoiur, the clouds gathered over giving a mistique ambiance. Sit by a fire pit sipping on warm mulled wine. Sit in a wood fired hot tub under the stars or in the rain, both times were amazing and so relaxing. Enjoy a hot shower then a lovely cooked meal. Play some cards. Hot chocolate and bed. Go for a beautiful walk at Rutland water which is a field away. What more do you need for a relaxing weekend.

We were lucky enough to get a last minute booking for a little mini moon getaway. We were greeted with a lovely card and some treats. Our dog was made very welcome too! We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had the most beautiful stay, it was so relaxing and peaceful, the views were stunning and it is just what you needed to wind down for a couple of days.
We stayed in a Star Gazing Tent which was so cute, I will be trying a shepherds hut next they looked amazing!
Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the trailor toilets were amazing better than most campsites I have been too.

Nothing was never too much for Natalia, when I called or texted I got an immediate response and Natalia was so helpful.

We visited Oakham and went to sykes lane to have a nice walk around the water, there was a little manmade beach which would be lovely in the summer.

We also went to The Fox pub which and had a lovely meal.

Everything about the stay is just what we needed.

We will be back.

Have just returned from two nights in one of the Stargazer Belle tents, it couldn’t have been more perfect, the tent itself is very spacious with fridge, kettle and crockery. There’s cooking utensils should you need them, if you fancy a bbq in the cooking and seating area which is just down from the tent, there’s a heater if it’s chilly, towels and even bathrobes and the most comfortable bed. The best bit though, the view from the terrace looking out over Rutland Water is absolutely beautiful, take binoculars!! The site itself is clean and tidy and the gorgeous little bathroom to the back of the tents are well thought out. Turned out we were the only people on site at the time and it was so peaceful. The owners are lovely, and there is great communication even giving us the best places to eat and visit. It’s a wonderful place to just switch off from life for a couple days. Hope to return next year.

From the moment we arrived and Natalia greeted us and showed us to our accommodation I knew we would have a super stay. We had chance to look at the tents and also she pointed out the individual allocated bathrooms located near to each tent and pointed to the washing up area if we chose to use the cooking facilities that each tent has and the chill out space with seat and hammock as well as a picnic bench.
Tents beautiful and simple styling, showers were better than some in hotels I’ve stayed in.
Views across Rutland Water breathtaking with sunrise and sunset being an added bonus.
Our party felt safe and we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the site located in a gorgeous apple orchard. I’ve already told lots of friends about the spot.

We booked 3 stargazer tents for 2 nights to celebrate a friends special birthday. The Hide was the most perfect experience. The bell tent was so beautiful, well furnished, clean and the most amazing position within the orchard. We mostly stayed on site, enjoying the beautiful views and surroundings. Loved lying in the hammock to read my book. Adored the gorgeous private shower. Natalia was there to greet us & she’s thought of everything.
Will definitely visit again.

We stayed in one of the stargazer tents for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had good communication from Natalia throughout. The tent itself is a great size and well equipped with a fridge, very comfy bed, and a heater. The view from the tent was lovely, with a mixture of the orchard and Rutland Water itself. While there is a row of a few stargazer tents together, there is enough room between them and hedgerow to allow for enough privacy. Cooking facilities were brilliant and well thought out. The only thing that would make the stay a bit better was the temperature of the showers and if there was a hot tub for the stargazer tents! We would definitely stay again and looking forward to booking soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Highly recommend if you want a relaxing break away.

Our first time visiting Rutland and what a beautiful location to spend our first ever "glamping" experience. We stayed in a Belle Tent for three nights (Friday-Monday) and it had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We shared the weekend with friends who also stayed on site in campervans and tents as our partners where taking part in a local Triathlon. Everyone had their own private pitches which were very generous in size. The facilities were top notch; we were fortunate to have our own shower/w.c. in a converted shepherd hut at the back of our Belle Tent; the design of which was better than expected - really tastefully designed. On the Saturday night we all gathered at our private undercover dining area at the bottom of our tent where we lit the fire, cooked a hearty one pot meal on the gas stove provided, and chatted under the stars. A very quiet location until the Geese descended dawn and dusk but added to the charm of our stay. We would highly recommend Rutland Nursery (at the top of the road) for a hearty breakfast with views of the water - excellent food. Communication was brilliant from the hosts who were quick to respond with any queries. We will be back next year! Karen & Matt

First time in a shepherds hut, and we loved it. The Hide is a beautiful site, well thought out to ensure maximum privacy.

The hut was so cosy, with everything you could need. The shower was amazing!

It was perfect to almost be ‘off grid’ for the time we were there, I haven’t been so relaxed in ages.

We had changeable weather when we stayed, but the hut was really quiet. I didn’t expect that as it is a traditional hut, with corrugated iron, not PVC as you sometimes see. We had heavy wind and rain on our last night, but it wasn’t a problem. We had beautiful sunshine on the Sunday evening, so we lit up the fire pit/bbq and enjoyed the views in the stunning location.

I would definitely go back.

We loved our stay at the Hide! The area was beautiful and quite all the facilities were excellent. The hosts were very accommodating and answered any questions we had. Great location would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved the pitch we had, it was very private and quiet with hedges on 3 sides and the view was stunning, Nalalia and Matt were very welcoming and we enjoyed walking from the site around Rutland water , 2 lovely pubs to visit during the days we were there.We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely quiet location - hut was a little tired in that a few blinds were broken etc but didn’t detract from how relaxing our stay was. Just felt it needed some tlc - particularly for the money we paid.

We had such a great time at The Hide at Manton. The tents were spacious, spotlessly clean, super comy and well equipped. We really appreciated the little touches like the robes, the popcorn and fizz. The shower was terrific and we loved the outdoor space. Communication was great and super helpful. And the view from the tent was just gorgeous. We definitely hope to be back!

We had a lovely weekend stay at a camping pitch. The campsite is spacious, each pitch was private and had amazing views of the reservoir. The facilities were basic but clean, stocked and well maintained. There was good communication with the hosts and clear instructions on arrival day. I highly recommend staying here for a peaceful trip to Rutland with fantastic views and sunsets.
