So we checked in and were told as loyal IHG members despite booking with Expedia we would get late checkout complementary from the hotel

When it came to checkout I was told I need to pay and this was incorrect info provided

terrible privacy

They have terrible data, and processed my PII and shared with third parties illegally. Which I found out when they sent a 50 page survey afterwards. Who thought that was a good idea? Based on that, I can't imagine their management would be good at anything else

I see the reply which falsely states that you don't do the things I have you on record doing. I've never stayed at your properties, nor given you my email, therefore by definition you have no legal basis to store or process it. Let me clear it up for you. You *think* you don't do this, and your policy says you don't, but your technical implementation is not competent, so you do. The review is accurate and remains

Horrible Customer Service

We stayed at Iberostar in Punta Cana. When we arrived our toilet was clogged. While we were out, someone apparently came to fix it, but LEFT HUMAN WASTE ALL OVER THE FLOOR coming out from the toilet and up from the shower. WE HAD TO STAY IN THIS ROOM OVERNIGHT with 2 young kids since no one responded. We obviously could not shower, brush our teeth or use the bathroom. They did not change our room until the next afternoon, and when they did, they put us in a room with 1 bed - for 4 people. So, we had to change rooms again. This took the first 2 days of our trip to resolve.
After this, corporate management agreed to refund us for the first 2 days but has not done so. They say they did, but we confirmed with Chase that there is no refund. They also REFUSE to tell us where they sent the refund to, when they sent it, or how much. Now they've simply stopped replying.

Great resort turned SCAM on us

1/7/26: My wife and I fell in love with Iberostar on our Honeymoon In 2014 and paid to become Blue members for $12k. The next trip, we upgraded to Silver for $16k more. It was a good deal for us because if we travelled at least once a year to Iberostar, we would save around $1-$3k on booking and get additional perks in the amount of $1k and our family members could use our membership. ALL OF OUR PERKS HAVE BEEN STRIPPED since IHG bought out Iberostar. We have never been honored requested fly back credits, we were charged full price for upgrades, denied golf / massage perks as well as Star Prestige on upgrades. We actually have the original contract and are considering a class action lawsuit as we have talked to many members that have had the same experience. It makes going to the resort we love miserable because we spend so much time in guest services getting the run around that we are done trying, they can have our $30k as it defeats the purpose of a vacation when you get all worked up because what you were told and honored for year is not honored anymore. My mother is there now and got denied golf, star prestige etc. and paid as much as the online price after her upgrade to Joia (Adult only). THERE IS $0 VALUE IN THE MEMBERSHIP anymore. So sad, they are such beautiful resorts. I am actually trying to call member services to complain and they keep hanging up. This is nuts!

1/19/25: I received an email back on my complaint and they admitted that yes, they indeed changed the offering, which goes against our 2019 contract. We do not get our benefits if we upgrade from Selection to Joia now. We would have never signed up in the first place if this was the case. They offered to upgrade us for another $70K lol.

Basically, their word or contracts mean nothing.

We visited Iberostar Selection Coral Level in early December 2025. What a fantastic holiday, 5 star in every way. The staff members were amazing from Evie in the dining area to Antonia who cleaned our room. Special thanks goes out to them personally although ALL staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and went out of their way to show us kindness, care and attention. We will definately return to this hotel to visit Barsa the guy on towels too but visit everyone to which they will all provide a wonderful welcome

Food quality is not great

Got food poisoning for both me and s my son at Iberostar when stayed for Christmas holidays. Also the childcare arrangement are not sufficient to cover for a bulk of 3 hours+ as I have seen with other resorts. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We stayed at the Sabila in Adeje for a second time
It is a fabulous hotel, arrival is warm and welcoming with a drink to help relax the journey
The breakfast is stunning, it takes 90 seconds to walk round the offerings at a sensible pace
The room is OK but we were not in it for very long, the shower is fantastic
The best thing though is the way they make you feel like a special guest. Most days we went walking but we did spend one day by the pool where we were given free ice cream. The entertainment at 9.15 every evening is pretty good and the gourmet restaurant is really good food
We enjoy a few holidays a year, this is the nicest, most friendly and welcoming hotel I know and we will go for a third time next year

The first Iberostar hotel we stayed in…

The first Iberostar hotel we stayed in was the Sabila, in Tenerife.  An excellent hotel, let down only by a slightly quirky and cramped room layout.  Everything else was excellent. 9 out of 10.  Our stay convinced us to book more holidays with Iberostar accommodation, and for our next holiday we booked the Es-Trenc in Majorca.  Again, a very good hotel with a slightly odd room layout, otherwise very good food and service, 8 out of 10.   Our most recent booking was in the Lanzarote Park.  An excellent location and a much larger, though slightly dilapidated room.  Unfortunately, here the overall service was poor, we had to repeatedly ask for two face cloths (one each) and make regular trips to reception simply to get the coffee pods replaced in the room.  Definitely not 5-star service.  6 out of 10, and unfortunately marks the end of our all too brief love affair with Iberostar hotels.

Very disappointing!

This would have been a 5 star rating if we hadn’t been forced to pay over 700 euros extra on arrival at our hotel, Iberostar Signature Sábila in Costa Adeje.
The room we were allocated on arrival was in an awful position overlooking a public walkway and delivery road. There was a large van also parked to the side! The room looked as though it would be for staff accomodation. We were told that the only other room available in the whole hotel was a Star Prestige room, where snacks and drinks were offered for most of the day? Bearing in mind we had already paid for All Inclusive, this wasn’t to our benefit! As it was very late when we arrived and we were very tired we agreed to pay the 693 euros (we were charged 20euros by our bank for the transaction.) I have photos of the original room to support my concerns.

Je vous déconseille TRES TRES TRES VIVEMENT

Hôtel Playa de Muro Palma

Je vous déconseille TRES VIVEMENT, cet hôtel, étiqueté ‘familial’- et qui est VRAIMENT dédié aux enfants, et rien qu'aux enfants.!!.
Couples ou séniors en recherche de calme : passez votre chemin, à moins que :

- vous soyez masochistes
- vous adoriez glisser malencontreusement sur le carrelage de la piscine constamment mouillé, à cause d’une piscine « old fashion » qui déborde sur ledit carrelage constamment mouillé, malgré les efforts journaliers et en continu, du personnel et les panneaux « attention sol glissant », à certains endroits (en fait il faudrait mettre des panneaux PARTOUT autour de cette piscine … ou la rénover et la mettre aux normes de sécurité.
- Vous aimiez nager dans une piscine réduite de ¾ pour laisser libre cours à la marmaille
- adoriez glisser en sortant de la douche, proche de la piscine : carrelage glissant sans aucune protection, donc l’eau se déverse ENCORE sur le carrelage environnant.
- vous adoriez déjeuner ou dîner au son des vociférations hystériques des marmots mal élevés, dont les parents trentenaires sont plus occupés par leur portable que par leur progéniture
- vous aimiez slalomer dans la salle de restaurant au milieu de la nourriture jetée au sol par ces mêmes marmots
- vous aimiez faire vos ablutions au su et vu de toute la chambrée : la salle de bain est ouverte à tous les vents, sans porte, avec un grand miroir judicieusement placé sur un mur, permettant une vue imprenable depuis le lit ( !)
- vous aimiez réveiller tout le monde, la nuit, en allant au toilettes ou dans la salle de bain : vu qu’il n’y a pas de porte séparative, toute la chambre est éclairée au milieu de la nuit.
- vous aimiez les toilettes, très exiguës, (plus de 1,70 m s’abstenir, à moins d’aimer avoir les genoux contre la porte). En plus de ça, la porte est, en fait, une vitre en verre dépoli ne laissant aucun doute sur la personne s’y trouvant, grâce à un rétro éclairage judicieux. La « porte » s’arrêtant, en plus, à 20 cm du plafond. Photos sur Tripadvisor.

Les transats autour de la piscine sont au « touche - touche (25 cm voire moins) sur 3 rangs.
Dans le genre « y’a pas de petites économies » :
- Contre, contre la modique somme de 20 € par personne et par jour, vous pourrez louer des « banquettes » avec matelas. C’est plus cher (45 €) si vous voulez des couchettes vue mer !
- La location d’un coffre fort à 3 €/ jour, me semble radin.
- Le mini bar est vide, même le jour de l’arrivée

Curieusement, le seul bar à proximité de la piscine, se trouve, devinez où ?....
Dans l’espace de jeux des enfants

On nous vend du rêve, notamment avec la plage de Muro, juste devant l’hôtel.
Belle plage de …. 3m de large. ! Les transats payants sur le sable de cette plage publique sont très très très proche de l’eau.
Dans très peu de temps, cette plage n’existera plus .
Parmi les activités proposées par cet hôtel : 1 h de beach-volley,
Pas tous les jours : « manque d’animateurs » m’a-t-on dit
De toutes façon, le terrain de volley est dangereusement situé à moins de 2 m d’une grande fosse sableuse, longue et profonde (photos sur Tripadvisor) , rongée continuellement par la mer
et par l’écoulement d’eaux déversées par un énorme tuyau, servant de déversoir des eaux pluviales (enfin, on espère !) : 3 pas en arrière pour rattraper le ballon et on tombe dans ce trou. Ça donne envie !,
La plupart de joueurs de beach-volley fuient : ils vont jouer en sécurité sur les terrains de autres hôtels.

Il y a également du loto, dont le lot principal est une bouteille de mousseux . Poids : 1,5 kg
Quand on sait que la plupart de clients voyagent en low cost, avec un poids de bagage très très limité, il n’est pas étonnant de voir que certains gagnants refusent le lot. On leur propose alors des Tshirts, dont la taille est non adaptée pour la plupart des gagnantes.

Seul point positif de cet hôtel, comme tous les Iberostar, les buffets sont excellents. Le personnel professionnel, aimable et souriant, même payé avec un lance-pierres !.
A part ça…. !

PS:
Merci au service marketing de ne pas systématiquement envoyer la même réponse creuse et vide de sens à tous les avis négatifs. Evidemment qu'on ne retournera plus dans un hôtel Iberostar - surtout celui de la Playa de Muro à Palma !!!
Abstenez-vous de faire un copier -coller de vos réponses passe- partout, et à côté de la plaque, surtout quand LES MEMES critiques se répètent sur plusieurs années- sans correction ! Bien à vous !!

Hôtel à fuir, vous serez averti!

Bonjour, je voulais partager mon expérience afin que les prochains voyageurs soient au courant de notre séjour passé à l'hôtel Iberostar Sélection palace Fuerteventura. Dès l'entrée à notre chambre (5303), nous nous sommes aperçu que la climatisation, bien que les anciens clients l'avaient baissé au maximum soit 10 degrés, ne fonctionnait pas bien et ne faisait que très peu de froid. Nous en avons informé la réception, qui a envoyé un technicien pour nous dire qu'il n'y avait rien à faire et que toutes les chambres étaient comme celle-ci. Nous avons donc testé une nuit et dès le lendemain matin, nous sommes repartis à la réception qui après 2 heures de perdues (déduite donc de nos vacances), nous a changé de chambre soit disant pour nous surclasser!!!! on a jamais demandé d'être surclassé mais juste avoir le service pour lequel nous avions payé!!!
On nous a installé à 50m de notre ancienne chambre (5404) avec une vue sur mer dont on se moquait!
la climatisation avait le même souci comme nous l'avait signalé le technicien.
Nous avons dû dormir la baie ouverte avec les problèmes que cela comporte notamment le bruit de l'extérieur. Sachez que l'hôtel est bruyant quelque soit l'emplacement des chambres, soit c'est la route, soit les piscines très proches des chambres, soit le bruit de l'animation le soir!
J'ai contacté le service client qui m'a répondu sans aucun geste commercial et dédommagement!!!!
Maintenant, vous saurez si vous réservez à cet hôtel, vous ne pourrez pas dire que vous l'ignoriez!
Indigne pour un 5 étoiles de cette chaîne! Ayant beaucoup voyagé dans ce type d'hôtel, j'ai pas mal de référence et je peux vous dire choisissez plutôt un autre hôtel notamment The secret Bahia Resort au nord de l'île et vous passerez un superbe séjour. Belles vacances à tous.

We just returned from our trip and were…

We just returned from our trip and were sooo let down by the room we ended up with. Originally our travel agent told us we would be getting a beach side view, but when we arrived were sadly mistaken to find out they didn't have such a thing. Only views of their Mangroves, which were so heavily treed that the mosquito population was nothing to joke about. Not only that but the room itself, while the layout was nice, definitely had been repainted with a puffing out of the walls behind it. Our shower was also leaking onto the floor and the smell coming from the balcony was like having a toilet out side. The hotel finally after a full day of calling numerous times and them coming and taking pictures moved us to the 3rd floor. When we were finally moved, while it was a nicer room than the first one, the only elevator in the building went out and we were forced to take the stairs up 3 flights. This lasted on and off for 3 days. I myself have injuries to my back which it ended up taking a toll on and I actually since returning back home have had to rest it as to not re-injure myself. The remaining parts of the hotel were beautiful and the staff was very friendly, in spite of having to deal with these issues. When I returned and after talking with the manager and getting absolutely no where I contacted the company in writing and their response was sorry. I am absolutely not impressed with their lack of customer service and feel when paying as much as you do for a week of vacation in a 4 star hotel, there should be some sort of making things right when the customer is inconvenienced as we were. We made the best of it, but I feel as if I never really experienced the vacation as we should have been able to. Very unimpressed with Iberostar and we will not be returning to a place that doesn't care about its' customers.

Nos sentimos engañados

Reservamos un viaje al “Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet”, vendido por agencias como parte de la cadena, pero descubrimos que todavía no pertenece a Iberostar. Pese a que contactamos con atención al cliente, no ofrecieron una solución clara ni se desmarcaron públicamente del uso de su marca en un hotel con instalaciones en muy mal estado. Sería importante que Iberostar informara mejor y protegiera su imagen para evitar que más clientes se sientan engañados.

Joia Iberostar El Mirador Tenerife

We stayed in this hotel In September and had the most wonderful time.
On arrival we were greeted by Pablo and Antonio, as courteous and professional as always, and were shown to our beautiful room, 1506. The rooms are spacious and spotless with amazing views. Our daughter joined us as well, staying in room 1306....and she was delighted with the accommodation provided.
The grounds are well maintained with an abundance of sun beds and parasols and a large, and more importantly, warm pool. Many thanks to Orlando and the rest of the pool staff for looking after us so well during our holiday.
The food in the restaurants is varied and of excellent quality and the staff are attentive and polite...we would like to say a big thank you to Besik, Enrique and Youri for for the kind and friendly service they provided during our stay.
This is an outstanding hotel with exceptional staff, ably led by Marc. Tiziana, the deputy manager is always available , responding to your every need and is exceptional in this role....truly outstanding. Iberostar are lucky to have such brilliant, committed staff... a credit to the company.
Our family have been visiting the Mirador for 14 years + .... it provides everything we need....serenity, relaxation and excellence.
See you again in May.

I went to this hotel in Agadir Morocco and had the best time met some wonderful people and the staff were amazinging particular Fawzi and Khalifa, these guys couldn’t do enough and made our stay very pleasant indeed thank you so much, highly recommend this hotel will definitely be going back!!!
