Robbed by a staff member

Shame being robbed by a staff member at the last day ruined all the good work from the other staff members during the previous week.

Some points, do deserve the 5 star rating (Naila, our room cleaner, Shaggy, from the entertainment team and some of the waiters that do go above and beyond to ensure your cup is never empty, the lifeguards always ready to help with the sun loungers and umbrellas) were all very good.

The pools are nice and big, however not cleaned daily so there was sand on the bottom. The corridors to the rooms are not cleaned either and the vents on the walls, bring out a "sewage" smell.

Upon arrival, the bathroom in my room was dirty, but the issue was resolved by the manager promptly.

The food selection in the restaurant is plenty, but repetitive, it is ok for a short stay, but after the third day, you know exactly what you are walking into for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, be aware of the birds flying freely inside the restaurant and eating straight from the same food trays that we are.

The cleaner covering for Naila on our check-out day asked me for my deodorant... weird and I wasn't going to mention as it is such a small thing, but following the theft by the reception team, I believe some staff members need a refresher course in how to act in a professional manner.

We checked out at 11 and were told by the staff that it was ok to leave the suitcase and rucksack at the reception as it was safe and our airport transfer was not until 1530 that afternoon. To my surprise, when I arrived at the airport, I noticed that my Airpods had been taken from my rucksack.
I have been in contact with the hotel for a week now (since the incident) and yesterday they confirmed to me that their investigation is concluded and my Airpods are nowhere to be found, however as a “gesture of goodwill, they are offering me a free upgrade and a SPA treatment on my next stay”….Not sure if the response is a joke or a hopeful move so they get to rob me again, either way, the action was shocking and disappointing and the outcome is insulting.

I would have never expected to be robbed in a hotel, but specially not in a so called 5 star hotel such as Iberostar.

Iberostar Kantoui Bay

Unforgettable Holiday – 5 Stars!

We had an amazing week at Iberostar Kantoui Bay in Tunisia and fully recommend it! From the warm welcome at reception to the friendly staff at the pool, bar, and restaurant – we felt safe, cared for, and truly at home.

Special thanks to Imed and Basim for introducing us to a range of fun activities like camel riding, quad biking, jet skiing, horse riding, and even parasailing – all perfectly organized and so much fun!

Our room was always spotless thanks to Saheem, with fresh towels and flowers every day.

A big thank you to Jalel and Lobna in the dining area, who took great care of our table for 8 days and made us feel special at every meal.

The food was delicious, with a great variety of local and international options.

Highly recommended – we will definitely be back! (Joanna from room 302)

This is for Iberstar Royal Mansour in…

This is for Iberstar Royal Mansour in Mahdia, Tunisia.
Positives:
- the hotel looks pretty good on the inside, quite grand and it's nice they provide water and flavoured drinks to refresh yourself near the reception area
- buffet overall pretty nice, lots of choice. Great they have gelato flavours like lemon.
- cleaners leave funny and cool towel statues especially if you have a child
- Shout out to Abelkarim and Wassam, very attentive waiters
- The man who does the pasta at lunch time is so cool and funny, he sings while making up the kind of pasta you want
- animation team were pretty good and it's great that there's kids disco plus 4 hours of childcare a day
- aqua aerobics is pretty good for a light workout
- enjoyed the yoga each morning too
- great they have a heated indoor pool as we made the mistake of going in April and it's not warm enough to go in the outdoor pools! (next time go to Egypt - the hotel may want to consider heating a small outdoor pool for this reason..)

Negatives:
- we were put on the far end of the hotel and the wifi was TERRIBLE, so bad that we'd never come back for that reason. In this day and age every room should have strong wifi - they also didn't allow wifi through the TV so what was the point of having it there? (cannot log into own Netflix etc), they said they came to check the connection but it never improved...
- layout of the hotel is a bit strange, you have to walk all the way around to get places instead of having easy walkways, and also the nearest toilets to the dining hall are quite far away
- painters come and paint areas outside but there's not much signage around and both myself and partner at different times got paint on our clothes
- tennis courts are dirt-floor and when it's windy it really gets in your eyes
- hairdryer in the bathroom is quite weak
- the room cards stop working after a little while and you have to activate them again but there's no warning this will happen and also no apology for the hassle of re-activating them
- tried the 'fine dining' experience at the Italian restaurant next door; we left after the second course soup - it tasted so bland and horrible, as though it was straight from a can!
- water at dinner is clearly from the tap and just with a filter; thought that with all-inclusive this would surely include bottled water
- speaking of water, the glass bottles in the room are just a strange touch, as they are difficult to open and a hassle. but I guess it makes the water better in a glass bottle - they just also could add plastic bottles too which are easier to use
- one of the tourists stole something of ours which is so low - though this is not the hotel's fault and they allowed us to look into this properly, though the technology they use is not advanced enough to really capture the culprits
- the lifeguard in indoor pool is not always looking, sometimes is on phone and doesn't seem to notice if children are under the water and haven't come up again in a while; some are better than others though
- there was a flashing light on our TV at night, if you don't have an eye mask it can be quite irritating
- very lumpy pillows in the room - quite shocked for a 5 star hotel
- two beds are brought together to make a double (though for those who don't mind it does make the bed quite big)
- we got bitten by bed bugs; and it looked as though they were coming to fumigate after we were leaving so I think there must be an ongoing problem with an infestation
- cleaning of rooms was not very thorough and didn't feel like they were properly cleaned especially in bathroom area
- the shop at the hotel was ridiculously overpriced for crisps and drinks etc
- they should not charge for the jacuzzi especially if all-inclusive

Although there appear to be more negatives than positives, our overall experience was nice, and perhaps if it was warmer we would have enjoyed ourselves more and focus less on the negatives; the food and the staff in general make it a nice time, and the rooms are overall ok as well. We know 5 star in North Africa is not 5 star anywhere else. If you have children, then do come to this hotel as it is great for families - entertains the parents as well as the kids.

Service client déplorable – problème toujours non résolu

J’avais réservé un séjour à l’Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet 5*. Un mois plus tard, Iberostar m’informe que ma réservation est annulée pour “circonstances imprévues” et qu’on me reloge d’office dans un autre hôtel situé à plus de 100 km de ma destination initiale, sans même me consulter.

J’avais pourtant tout organisé autour de cette réservation : billets d’avion depuis la France jusqu’à Tunis, activités planifiées dans la région de Hammamet, transferts, etc. Ce changement me met dans une situation très compliquée.

J’ai proposé une alternative raisonnable, dans un autre hôtel Iberostar à Hammamet, avec une compensation équilibrée. Depuis, aucune réponse concrète. Le service client se contente de répéter que le service commercial n’a pas donné suite, sans jamais faire avancer les choses. On me fait perdre du temps, alors que les prix augmentent et que les chambres risquent de devenir indisponibles ailleurs.

À ce jour, rien n’est résolu. Le manque de professionnalisme, de coordination et de respect du client est inacceptable pour une chaîne hôtelière de ce standing.

Je déconseille fortement Iberostar à toute personne qui cherche un minimum de sérieux.

Eine Woche im Iberostar Waves Cristina

Eine Woche im Iberostar Waves Cristina, Playa de Palma = eine wunderbare Rundum-Sorglos-Woche. Zimmer sauber, Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Essen war super, da auch für jeden Geschmack immer etwas dabei war! TOP! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, jederzeit gern wieder.

5 Star Staff 4.5 stars overall

We stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall Waves in Jamaica and would again. The staff were amazing, our Concierge Sheldon truly is a gem. The resort is lucky to have talent like him and the rest of the crew. They had me laughing despite a horrible experience with the booking company I used (not Iberostar related). Mo Mo in the gym and Fresh with activities were epic. The ladies that worked the front desk and concierge were so freaking funny and kind. The resort was beautiful, it had some construction going on but we weren't on that side.
The restaurants were plentiful and there were plenty of options with beachside burgers, jerk chicken and pork, rice and beans, veggie wraps and hotdogs. Then the buffet which was so clean and plentiful with a different theme every night. The Japanese hibachi was fun and Kimberly took care of us well, even packed up my food when my son wanted to leave early because hibachi by nature is loud.
Uncle Tony's smoke house was amazing and the staff was truly phenomenal. Iberostar's staff is 5 stars all the way. The beverages are what drops it to a 4 star. The bartenders are great but the options for brand are limited and as someone who doesn't drink a lot, quality is important to me. That said we would 100% go to another Iberostar resort and absolutely would return to this one. If you go make sure to take a fitness class with Mo Mo he's hilarious and kicks your butt!
Lastly Iberostar is committed to the environment and minimizes waste and no plastics which is incredible and gets them a bonus rating. If we could do 4.5 stars we would because of this.

With some improvements this hotel could easily get a 5 star rating

My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel for a romantic getaway, and while there were many highlights. Got off to a strange start where we saw everyone else who checked in get a welcome drink and time spent talking about the hotel, well we didn’t and very little info about the hotel. However, during our stay the staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, adding to the luxurious vibe of a 5-star property. The breakfast was a standout—delicious, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options.

However, the lack of functioning air conditioning was a major downside. We reported the issue in our room, hoping it would get fixed or to switch rooms, but were shocked to learn the aircon was broken throughout the entire hotel. Instead, we were offered a fan, which was so loud it made sleeping difficult. For a 5-star hotel, this was unacceptable, especially in warm weather. The poor sleep due to the heat and noise significantly impacted our stay. While we loved the staff, cleanliness, and food, the aircon issue was a major letdown.

Iberostar Playa de Muro…

Just returning from Playa de Muro Village after a 9 night stay. A lovely hotel, good food, right on the beach with great staff. Two negatives, there isnt really a snack bar for lunch, just a buffet which is expensive so best to eat across the road in one of the many restaurants and the bar area for the evening isn’t a 5 star area but more targeted at the children which is understandable. Overall a nice spot to stay!

cockroaches served with a side of poor customer service

I can only rate Iberostar diar el andalous in Tunisia as poor as the first things to greet us upon check in were 2 live cockroaches in our room

The concierge was the most helpful person who first killed them and then went to find a cleaner for us..we went to reception to report it, expecting to be moved but were told by the manager "what do you expect when this is Africa" - and only after my husband expressed his disdain with that comment was any action done - mind you we were only offered a clean as they insisted there were no other rooms we could be moved to.

We were given a free 30 min massage which consisted of being doused in oil and the lightest touch ever..also the masseuses didn't leave the room when we were undressing which is unusual

We noticed dead fleas in the shower that same evening, possibly a drainage issue

3 days later, a third cockroach is spotted and another large live insect and only then were we moved rooms - no apology given that time we noticed.

In the interim, our food boxes weren't properly disposed off..we didn't want to leave a takeaway box in our room and housekeeping decided instead to leave it at the top of the stairs outside of our room for 2 days!

We had paid for a Seaview junior suite and the Seaview wasn't even present

It's such a shame that this was our experience as the location of the hotel is good, the beach was lovely and buffet was alright..there is a lack of choices for restaurants onsite considering they only offer half board or all inclusive stays. Also most of the staff we encountered were helpful apart from the ones mentioned above

But the fact that it felt we weren't being taken seriously and the situation wasn't being acted on quickly is a concern for me on the general hygiene standards of the hotel

And now we're trying to get some compensation but the hotel manager is ignoring emails so sorry can't recommend this one!

All positive at the Diar el Andalous, Tunisia

Just back from over 6 weeks at the Iberostar Diar el Andalous, Tunisia. This was my third visit in 18 months. Had a great time.

All of the staff were very helpful, friendly and extremely polite. Reception, bar and restaurant waiters, Room maids, chefs and the animation team, life guards for pools and beach were all extremely professional - including management. There was huge variation of food and drinks. All areas were kept clean.

This hotel was constantly busy and very popular and had a great atmosphere/ buzz. Can highly recommend.

Will definitely be going back later this year.

Don't stay at iberostars unless you won't money stolen of you

Just got back from the iberostar waves in djerba and we had £800 stolen from our safe. Yes got police involved and my partner has signed 3 statements the manager at hotel wasn't really bothered it was only when easyjet got involved and told him what to do then we got a reaction from him. I have emailed customer contact centre to tell them what happened and guess what no reply absolutely disgusting. I have been travelling for over 15years all around the Caribbean and never had money stolen from me. We always use riu hotels so this was our first time at a iberostar and guess what it will be our last which is a shame as we travel 3 times a year so they could of had alot of money from us. Definitely be staying at riu from know on and they are cleaner

Iberostar Bourganville Playa, Adeje

Just back from another fantastic holiday at Bourganville Playa, Adeje Tenerife.
This is 3rd time at his hotel and the 8th time in Iberostar hotels in Adeje.
Great location, close to beach and bars although a couple of steep hills roundabout.
The hotel is immaculately kept and staff extremely friendly.
This time there was plenty sun beds available whoch was one of my gripes last time, Management do listen!
We were on a half board basis and the food is good as far as hotel buffets go. Plenty of choice and tasty.
We never had breakfast in hotel as we enjoy a longer lie on holiday, and only ate 3 times in restaurant. I was however a bit shocked to be charged for soft drinks and water when in restaurant !
We had looked at upgrading to All Inclusive or Star Prestige at a cost of £750 and £520 respectively but decided we wouldn’t benefit from it as we like going out for meals and drinks in the evening!
All in all, I personally think this is one of the better hotels in adeje for a reasonable price.

Iberostar Selection Kuriat Palace in Monastir, Tunisia

I had the most incredible stay at the Iberostar Selection Kuriat Palace in Monastir, Tunisia! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious, clean rooms and stunning views. The amenities are top-notch, and the food is absolutely delicious, offering a wide variety to suit every taste.

What really made this stay unforgettable, however, was the exceptional service. The staff here are truly outstanding! A special shout out to Chokri, Ali, and Mohammed from the bar – they were absolutely amazing. Their friendliness, attention to detail, and dedication to making guests feel special made our experience even more memorable. Whether it was a perfectly made cocktail, a friendly chat, or just checking in to ensure we were having a great time, they went above and beyond. They made the whole experience feel like a home away from home.

The overall atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and welcoming, and the entire staff made us feel like part of the Iberostar family. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Monastir – you won’t be disappointed!

Perfect Stay


We stayed in the Iberostar Waves Cozumel

We loved this hotel and have to give the highest compliment to Alonso who made us welcome as soon as we checked in on 9th March.

We spoke to Alonso every day and he offered us advice and answered all our questions. He even came to talk to us when he happened to see us on his day off and he is a true asset to Iberostar.

The resort is amazing. It’s lush and we loved the flamingos and other life on the resort. I’ve never seen such beautifully maintained gardens. They are a credit to the gardeners.

The staff members are all absolutely amazing. They greeted us warmly each day and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

The food and restaurant all have wonderful food - Victor particularly made us welcome in the dining room.

Sunset on the beach here is the best I’ve seen in my life. Pelicans looking for food and one evening a huge eagle ray was swimming next to the shore, it’s not to be missed.

The entertainment team work so incredibly hard and even though it’s not our thing to go to shows we were incredibly impressed with all their work and how they engaged so many people.

As non smokers we were pleased this resort is non smoking.

We would highly recommend this hotel and we have loved our stay.

Experiencia única en Iberostar bávaro y coral dar las gracias a Natalia y eduardo por el servicio y la amabilidad prestada !! Llevamos muchos años viniendo es la mejor cadena hotelera en bávaro .

Great Experience

I recently stayed at the Iberostar in Mexico and I had a great time. The resort itself was shockingly big with a lot to do. The water was great and the food was acceptable. Would recommend to a friend.

Service

Je suis un client régulier. Mes scores sont généralement élevés, cette fois je ne l'ai pas fait car un des jours il n'y avait pas de room service et les fontaines d'eau potable étaient cassées pendant tout mon séjour.
