I moved in to Michael Court 12 months ago and it's the best move I have made! The house manager Fee is very helpful and friendly and all my neighbours are great and we all get along really well. I have been very warmly welcomed and would recommend to anyone contemplating this move.

Valley Court
I moved into Valley Court with my husband in May this year and we have now settled in to this very warm and friendly community and I now say its our extended family. I have known this community for a number of years as my sister and her husband live here already. This help with our decision to make this our new forever home. It’s great, there is always someone to chat with, so you never feel alone. The house manager Lorraine is so approachable and nothing is too much for her to sort, arrange, point you in the right direction or just have a laugh with. I recently looked to visit family in Bristol, so Lorraine took me through everything I need to do to arrange a night stay in a Guest Suite. Lorraine also likes to work with the homeowners when holding events like parties or Fundraisers, and she is so enthusiastic about everything. This really makes Valley Court the best place to live. Lorraine, keep doing what you are doing as YOU make a difference.

Jameson gate guest suite
Recently stayed in the guest suite at Jameson gate,
House manager nick has the property beautiful, the guest suite is clean fresh and tidy with all amenities, such a nice environment laughter is heard every morning, all the resident's are very friendly, will definitely be booking again.

Beaumaris Court
My visit to Beaumaris court was to view possible options for my elderly mother, our first introduction to retirement living. We were very impressed by the site and facilities on offer.
Natasha, the manager, was wonderful. She put my mind at ease and answered all of my questions, taking the time to reassure me and my mother on anything that came to mind.

Wayfarer Place - plant pots
The plant pots flanking the entrance doors to Wayfarer Place in Alresford have been moved on the instructions of the regional Operations Director. One of them is now ten yards away. Why has this happened? Have they caused a problem ? (No). Have there been complaints from or inconvenience to residents, visitors or tradespeople? (No. The residents voted unanimously that they should be left where they are at the last residents meeting). Have the gardeners complained about the time and money they expend on them? (No. The pots have been there since 2019 when the development was built and are maintained and supported by the residents who fundraise for them and change the display several times a year). Has the new layout improved the look of the entrance? (No, it looks silly). Has the new location improved residents experience of living at Wayfarer Place? (No, the residents are increasingly demoralised at how their wishes are ignored or contradicted by senior management control freakery).
The pots add colour and life to the development and are frequently commented on favourably by visitors, residents and staff as they use the entrance doors. Local management have been supportive of the residents’ efforts to the extent of financial support out of their own pockets.

We appreciate the pride that homeowners take in their development and recognise the time and effort that goes into maintaining the colourful displays, which are enjoyed by many residents and visitors.
The decision to reposition one of the planters was made following a review of access to the entrance keypad. It was felt that the planter's location could make access more difficult, particularly for those using mobility aids or carrying items, and the change was therefore made to help improve accessibility and ease of access to the entrance.
We appreciate that not everyone will agree with changes to the appearance of communal areas and we thank you for sharing your views. Feedback from homeowners remains important to us and will continue to be considered alongside practical, operational and accessibility requirements.
Our local management team is continuing to engage with homeowners to explore the available options and seek a solution that balances accessibility needs with residents' wishes.

We lived at Broadfield Court in Manchester for nearly ten years before our move to Scotland. The experience was always positive. The Estate Manager Debbie Christopher ran the place very well indeed and was a credit to the company. Recently Marina and Katie were more involved and were both always kind and helpful. Following M&S reply to my review
My wife and I have lived at Hampson Court, Hazel Grove (Retirement Living) since the development was opened in 2020. It has proved to be the right choice for us, Hampson Court consists of 41 apartments and is a lovely community with a great bunch of people. We have a fabulous caring House Manager, a small but delightful Guest Suite that is well appointed. The apartment has all modern comforts and is safe and secure which is important as we age. We have read many comments on various social media expressing various comments positive and negative but we can only speak as we find. Sadly, in my view, management take too much notice of on line reviews and perhaps a better measure of customer satisfaction for large business is a concise short confidential questionnaire for each homeowner to complete, seal and return via each House manager which could be used to gauge customer satisfaction as well as perhaps subjects such as staff (local and regional) performance.
Following on from McCarthy Stone reply to my review I would add that of the 41 apartments here, only around 40% of homeowners are computer users so using web based comments to accurately base opinions is totally misleading. Survey people properly to obtain accurate opinions.

Jameson Gate, Portobello, Edinburgh
Here at Jameson Gate in Edinburgh, we are a very happy and friendly community.
Our local facilities are excellent....there is a supermarket next door, a bus stop a few meters away, a promenade a short walk away and lots of independent shops all along Portobello High street.
Internally our building is bright and modern, having recently had a fresh makeover, with a guiding hand from our wonderful House Manager Nick.....who spends much appreciated time, researching ways to make the building look its best.
It is a lovely area to live in and retire to.

Whoever designed these flats was too…
Whoever designed these flats was too young and inexperienced. There are areas where it would be more "Old People User Friendly"
The front doors are too heavy. I know they are Fire Doors but they can be more light weight.
The washing machines are too complicated, also the heating.

I've lived in a McCarthy & Stone apt for 16 years at Dilkusha Court, Hayling Island for 6 years & 10 at Folland Court. I love the friendships, the days out, the celebrations at Christmas dinners, friends birthday celebrations the looking after each other. The brilliant House Manager Julie Binstead. Most of all I love the feeling of being safe & secure. Also the cleanliness of the building you are never alone, only when you want t be. The service charge is a way of life as it would be if I was resided on my own outside of this super development.

I am very happy with my apartment and they seem to sell quickly... .....HOWEVER we are being bullied into a facilities management contract, which includes the cleaning.
We will probably lose our faithful cleaner. She is more than a cleaner to us, she part and parcel of our community. The potential loss has created upset, stress and bad feelings.
The majority of the homeowners are 80s and 90s they do not want this upset at this time of life.
