Having reviewed our correspondence, we can see that we initially received photographs of two damaged components and requested further information so we could identify the parts required. Once additional images were received showing further missing items, the matter was referred to our Log Cabin team to verify exactly what replacement components were needed before dispatching anything.

We appreciate that delays while waiting for replacement parts are frustrating, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. However, we have not advised that your order was cancelled, and our team have been working to establish the correct parts required to ensure the issue is resolved properly.

We are sincerely sorry for the experience you have had and fully appreciate your frustration, particularly given the length of time this issue has remained unresolved.

Following a detailed review of your case, we have unfortunately identified that the glazing part number originally provided and quoted for was incorrect. This meant that the replacement glazing supplied was not the correct panel required for your building, despite our efforts to resolve the matter.

We completely understand how disappointing this is, especially after waiting so long for a resolution, and we would like to offer our sincere apologies for the error and the inconvenience this has caused you.

Was promised twice that the shed would…

Was promised twice that the shed would arrive on a certain date and it didn’t.
Delivery company arrived not at arranged time and asked us for a fork lift truck to get it off his truck!
£758.00 shed arrived , no screws, no beading for the glass and the stain on the wood is patchy. Not what you would expect when paying out that amount of money.
Excuses and very poor customer service.

We appreciate the frustration caused by the delivery issues and the missing components on arrival. Following your contact with us, we investigated the concerns raised and reviewed the photographs provided.

As advised by our Customer Service team, the patchy appearance relates to the factory-applied dip treatment, which is intended as a temporary base coat prior to the building receiving a full preservative treatment after installation. Variations in coverage are a normal characteristic of this process and will be covered once the building receives its final treatment.

We also reviewed the cladding alignment shown in the photographs and confirmed that the variation falls within normal manufacturing tolerances for a timber garden building. Timber is a natural material and minor differences in board profiles and panel alignment can occur.

We do, however, apologise for the inconvenience caused by the missing parts and delivery experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Your feedback has been noted and shared with the relevant teams.

Spare Parts …

Service so far is ok but I am still waiting for the quotation fir the new hinges I need. I appreciate that this has to come from Italy but I seem to have been waiting a long time. Meanwhile I have to lift my shed door on and off tho access my stuff.

The shed (7 x 5)was delivered on the…

The shed (7 x 5)was delivered on the date stated. However one panel and the roof were missing, on contact with the customer service the missing parts were delivered seperately. Hopefully moving forward the company will check to ensure all shed parts/panels are packed together before delivery, it will cost them less in revisits.

Pleased with the playhouse

Pleased with the playhouse, looks really good and compared to a lot out there, the quality is great. Instructions are easy to follow too. The only issue we had was that we were sent 5M of roof felt but we needed 6M. The response from customer service was quick but we waited a week for the replacement felt meaning the playhouse wasn’t weather tight, when the replacement felt arrived it was too short.We called and explained what we needed again and the correct size piece of felt arrived within a few days. If we hadn’t had the felt issue then I’d have given 5*.

We're sorry about the issues with the roofing felt though. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to wait for a replacement, only for that piece to also be the wrong size, especially when it meant the playhouse couldn't be made fully weatherproof straight away.

I'm glad we were able to get the correct felt to you in the end, but we appreciate the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while we got it sorted.

Very disappointed with the quality…

Very disappointed with the quality overall and the lack of quality control that didn’t spot that there was a chunk of wood missing from one of the bits of wood.
I was offered a replacement part, but as I explained, now on my own, I had to hire someone to put it together for me. Nothing more was offered. I think a monetary offering would have been appropriate.

Having reviewed the photographs provided, the damage appears to be limited to a small section of timber around a natural knot in the wood. Whilst this does not affect the structural integrity or use of the product, we appreciate that it should have been identified before despatch and understand your frustration.

We also appreciate that, having arranged and paid for someone to assemble the log store, you felt you had little option but to proceed with the installation rather than delay matters further.

If you would still like a replacement component to improve the appearance and correct the issue, please contact our customer service team and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

Would have put the experience as a 0 if it has allowed. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT. I paid money up front with Screwfix and was told to arrange delivery with SHIRE direct. After system in constant error and after three telephone calls (promising a call back, that I never received) two complaint emails which took two weeks, they eventually came up with a DELIVERY DATE 3 MONTHS LATER. I will be requesting an immediate refund through Screwfix and may follow up with correspondences to the fraud squad/scam. How companies like this survive is unbelievable.

This is what I sent to Shire team with no reply.
Dear shire shed team,
I ordered (Robert Dyas) and received my shed on the time and it was delivered by a competent driver, who was very helpful.
The next day I started to set up to build my shed. It became very apparent quickly that the panels supplied were twisted and warped. I started building the window frame with window frame inside. I do think a lot of customers would have just phoned up to ask for replacement or refund. I had to clamp everything before drilling and putting the screws in place.
The door frame was worse, how you can have short panels in that state is beyond me. I then started on the base and shed panels, again I had to clamp panels before hitting in place.

I could go on and on about how poor the materials supplied have been. Yes I have built the shed but wish I hadn’t.
I see why you supply spares as cracked, bowed and broken panels are the norm. I can understand bowed along the length but not over the width.

I believe you need to review a delivery that is going to a customer and try and build it yourself. I know you offer this but I am sure if your team had what I have just had they would have requested new.

I am not after compensation, I would just like assurance you will look into my mail and give your customers the quality they deserve after paying for what I believed was going to be better than a B&Q shed.

How wrong was I.

Here hoping you will do better for those customers who do not have my skill set.

We appreciate the detailed feedback you have provided. Whilst timber is a natural material and some movement can occur during storage and transit, we fully understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter components that required clamping and adjustment during assembly.

Extended delivery dates.

Ordered and payed for delivery beginning of June, then told middle of July. When questioned was told not our fault, no refund or help.

We provide our retailers with regular lead time updates; however, it is the retailer's responsibility to ensure these are accurately reflected on their website and at the point of sale.

Having reviewed your order, I can see it is currently booked for delivery on 13th July.

If you no longer wish to proceed with the order, please contact our customer service team and we will be happy to arrange a cancellation so that a refund can be processed through the retailer.

Took a month to deliver and i did get a…

Took a month to deliver and i did get a phone call to say delivery delayed because missing parts but when it did arrive there was a part missing.
Contacted shire and they said they would put me on a waiting list but as it was only the finial for the top it didn't affect the build... built yesterday and big gaps in the T&G pannelling and roof.
Looks lovely in a photo but the roof is a very poor design when it comes to building it.
I think it needed to come with better instructions and should be pre drilled
I had a professional base installed too so I feel really out of pocket

We appreciate your frustration regarding the delivery delay and the missing finial. As advised at the time, the finial is a decorative component and does not affect the assembly or structural integrity of the arbour, however we understand that you expected to receive a complete product and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

We are also sorry to hear of your concerns regarding the assembly and finish of the building. Timber is a natural material and some movement, expansion and contraction can occur during storage and after installation. During assembly, it is important that all boards are fully engaged and secured before fixings are tightened, as this can affect the appearance of gaps within the cladding and roof sections.

We are disappointed that the product has not met your expectations and would encourage you to contact our customer service team directly with photographs of the areas of concern so that we can review them and assist further.
