We were lucky to be assigned to a mortgage consultant called Neil Jacobs who could not have been more helpful. Right from the outset Neil explained the process, what our options would be and what he could and couldn’t advise on. The whole journey has been straightforward, supportive and efficient and we are very grateful to Neil for his help and expertise.

Had an hour long call with Daniel Morris yesterday. He was extremely helpful and I felt he really went above and beyond and stayed late to finish our convo. Thanks very much

Amanda from the Switching Team was so patient and kind on the phone with me today helping me to switch by to let Mortgages over she is such an asset to the team and deserves the recognition for this. I had had a conversation with someone in the same department literally five minutes before and it was a completely different experience.. as a customer with severe disabilities and impairments he did not do anything to work around the issues of his facing. He knew nothing about section 20 of the Equality at 2010 where we are entitled to reasonable adjustments and just kept saying everyone get treated the same . Sadly, I didn’t get his name, but I do know if it was close to 9 o’clock this morning.. luckily Amanda we still had my faith in the Mortgage Works when I thought I’ll just give it a go and try again as despite what he said I was having no look online and through her patience and commitment she took me through every single stage and the whole process was done within 15 minutes. Amanda literally bought your stars up from 1 to a 5 today within 30 minutes

The customer service advisors have been very helpful.

We had an excellent consultant, Laura McBurney, who has been generous with her time in explaining how everything works, giving details of the various options and rates, and clarifying different aspects of the remortgage / buy-to-let process. Very good communication, responsive and clear, she has been good at making us feel like a valued customer.

Daniel Morris was extremely efficient and knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly and clearly.

I got lucky with waiting for an appointment as someone stood in to ease an apparently large backlog. He was very clear, patient and thorough.
The process took about a month, partly due to it taking 16 days to emerge that my agent's details for valuation access had gone astray.
I received a form in the post that I was told I had to sign to get the funds and asking me to choose a date, but the funds arrived before I replied, when I was only just instructing contractors and didn't need them, which seems somewhat irregular and will presumably cost me extra interest.

Naz was very pleasant, professional and efficient.

The staff at the mortgage works were very polite and helpful we’ve been with nationwide since the early 80’s they helped me online to switch interest only to repayment mortgage which I couldn’t have done it by myself and then the whole process of filling in an application form for a further top up loan I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the mortgage works to anybody

This is the second time I've had to leave a negative review about this company as I'm fairly easy going leaving one negative review is unusual leaving two is unheard of so here goes.
We are trying to buy a property in Coventry via a Ltd company set up by my daughter who was living in Australia at the time but has since moved back to the UK. We arrange our mortgages via a broker in Coventry who uses TMW as his sort of go to company. The valuer went out to the property and he was happy that TMW could borrow against it which was further than we got the last time so we thought everything was good to go but below was a list of issues we came up against every time our broker attempted an application all to do with Ltd company.
1. They weren't happy with the Ltd company having an Australian address with both the directors (myself and my daughter) being UK residents -> Action change the Ltd company address to a UK
2. Because I was a director and over 70 it restricted the amount TMW were prepared to loan to us from 75% to 65% -> Action remove myself as a director
3. Although I have removed myself as a director I was still a person of significant control -> Action remove myself as a person of significant control
4. Because my daughter hadn't lived at home for a number of years I had her removed from the electoral register TMW were not happy about this because they needed to see proof she was a UK resident -> Action Get my daughter back on the electoral register
5. Despite switching the address of the Ltd company back to the UK my daughter was still being shown as a person of significant control with an Australian address -> Action correct the address to the UK address
6. They needed to see my daughter was a UK tax payer Action -> This meant applying for a UTR number because my daughter had never completed a UK tax return and then completing 2 tax returns.

And so the list goes on and while in essence TMW have there own criteria of how an ex-pat Ltd company needs to be set up my complaint is TELL US EVERYTHING AT THE START, the process was held up and the application re-started every time in 1-6 above and the information would take a minimum 72 hours to update on the TMW systems if it was a quick fix like in 1. above, but could take as long as 3 weeks in 6. above.
So we started the process in January and still don't have a mortgage offer or know if there's something TMW need to know
