You’re absolutely right that the apps and monitoring platforms can sometimes assume a level of familiarity, and clearer guidance can make a big difference — particularly for those less comfortable with technology.

We do provide guidance and are always happy to talk customers through how to interpret their system data, but we take your point on board about making this more accessible and user-friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your concerns and understand why this situation would be upsetting.

We want to be clear that we would never knowingly sell a system based on incorrect or outdated information, and we take any suggestion of mis-selling extremely seriously. Energy provider incentives and compatibility can unfortunately change at short notice, sometimes outside of our control, but that does not mean your parents’ system is unsuitable or without long-term benefit.

We would really like the opportunity to review this properly and look at what was discussed at the time of sale, as well as what options may be available now. Hi Mary,

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry that you feel frustrated.

For clarity, your GivEnergy battery installation was completed on 8 January. We allow up to 10 working days to issue the full handover pack, and we are currently on the third working day following installation.

We also spoke with you at 4pm yesterday regarding the Wi-Fi connection to the battery, which was required to complete system setup. I understand this has now been boosted, and we will proceed accordingly.

We remain in contact and will ensure the remaining documentation is issued within the agreed timeframe.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’re feeling disappointed with the purchase, as that’s not the experience we want any customer to have.

Our aim is always to be clear and transparent about how a system is intended to work and what outcomes can reasonably be expected, and we regret if this wasn’t fully clear at the time. Battery systems are designed to help reduce peak electricity usage and increase the value of solar generation when matched with the right tariff and usage pattern, and results will naturally vary between households.

We do appreciate your positive comments about the installation itself and the installer, and we’re pleased that part of the experience met your expectations.
