After loosing a beautiful treasured ruby ring I contacted Durham rose and explained the sentimentality of the ring that we had made for our ruby wedding anniversary. Melissa Vass introduced herself and explained the service she could provide for designing a similar ruby ring for me.
I was kept informed all the way through with the design and making of my ring.
Today I received the finished ring and it’s absolutely beautiful in fact we think it is more stunning than the original.
I cannot recommend the exceptional service from Durham rose and Melissa Vass enough just first class from the first day until I received my item

I had a great experience with Durham Rose.

Melissa Vass was my consultant/designer and I cannot praise her highly enough for the care, consideration, expertise and professionalism she gave me, all delivered with a friendly, good humoured manner, that put me at ease - from the initial email contact and the first zoom consultation - through the various changes and tweaks to the design - to the production of the ring.

I had a deliberate delayed period from the time the design was finalised and deposit paid to the ring going into production, due to timings of my proposal plans, but when the time came for the ring to go into production, Melissa let me know that it was progressing to manufacture to meet my requested delivery.

It was a while before my next update, however Melissa made contact to apologise for the delayed update due to her becoming ill and recovering. Around the same time, Manu also called me to offer his apologies and to explain that there was an issue with the Morganite accent stones, in that once they had received them ready for setting they were not delivering the colour and effect we were hoping for. They therefore offered me the option to either increase the size of the stones or to replace Moganite with Pink Sapphires, at no extra cost. I chose the second option and really appreciated being given this choice rather than them just going ahead with the Morganite as initially designed. This did delay the final delivery of the ring as suitable stones needed to be sourced for this design change, but I had a bit of flex in my timings anyway, so no problems.

Melissa continued to give me updates on the progress and when they could arrange delivery, so I felt reassured that everything was progressing well.

I received my ring this week and I am more than happy with the finished piece. It is everything I hoped it would be and I am so excited to present it to my girlfriend. Just need to pop the very important question first...!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Durham Rose to anyone wanting a bespoke ring that they can be involved in the design process.

Buying an engagement ring is a daunting and nervous experience, but I was instantly reassured and filled with confidence in her ability. Melissa was the epitome of professional and could not have been any more accommodating or helpful. She was friendly, prompt in reply to any questions I asked and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The experience from the initial Zoom meeting to discuss ideas through to the collection of the ring was excellent. It was clearly explained, thorough and I was regularly updated of the progress.

The ring was completed ahead of schedule and was utterly flawless. It was immaculate and more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. My fiancée adores it.

I came to Durham Rose to create a bespoke engagement ring based off my mothers with some subtle differences. The ring was complexed in design and gems and needed some inspirational changes to elevate the design. I could not be happier with the result, and more importantly my wife is in love with it! The whole process was amazing, quick, super helpful and they were super contactable throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Durham Rose, their team is brilliant as is the Jewellery and customer care they deliver…I am struggling to find any fault in any level of my experience, simply brilliant!

I was looking for the perfect upgrade to my engagement ring but still keeping the sentimental aspects of my old ring, as my old ring was very dainty and delicate the stones kept falling out over the years and I needed something that would fit my lifestyle better. After searching multiples jewellers most told me they didn’t use old stones and would not be able to use my old ring to create the perfect ring for me. That was until I came across Durham Rose! Melissa Vass has been helpful, understanding and just an absolute pleasure to communicate with from the beginning till the end. I had to get my new ring finished in time for my wedding day (around 3 weeks) and Melissa and the team did everything they could to make sure my ring was ready! they listened to my budget and what ideas I had and created the perfect ring for me! it has the diamonds from my old ring and new additions which is perfect for my new married life! I could not thank them enough! I could not recommend Durham Rose enough and can’t wait to add to my collection in the near future!

I was looking for a unique engagement ring with some very fine engraving and found Durham Rose after some research and decided to go with them. The initial meetings with my Durham Rose representative (Melissa) all went smoothly and the renders of the ring all look perfect. I opted to go for the proposal ring first to use for my proposal and thankfully she said yes!
I then ordered the real engagement ring and when it arrived I was disappointed by what turned up as the detail was nowhere near what was expected and shown on the proposal ring.
I contacted Melissa who got back to me straight away and immediately said she would do everything to rectify the issue. I sent the ring back to be re-engraved.
I was obviously worried that after spending all this money on a custom ring that I would be left with something that neither me nor my Fiancee would be happy with, but Melissa assured me that they would make sure it was perfect.
The ring has now come back and it is absolutely perfect! Even better than the proposal ring, so thank you to Melissa and all involved at Durham Rose for sorting it out.

Excellent, helpful, friendly service from Elinor through every stage of the remodelling of my Nana's ring. The design process was fun and Elinor was patient with me changing my mind several times! Quality of updates, open and clear costings, finish of the products; all second to none. I now have a wearable ring that holds family memories close but reflects who I am too. I needed an eternity ring custom made to fit around my wife’s unusually shaped engagement ring. DR were able to achieve this for me.Their representative was always prompt in communication, clear about what they could and couldn’t do, price and timing etc. She listened and did not try to change my idea but helped with making it a reality in terms of what was possible.

Finding the perfect eternity ring for our 10yr anniversary was proving really difficult and the thought of having a bespoke ring designed was fairly daunting.

I absolutely loved the whole process of conceptualizing, designing, and then waiting for my ring to be manufactured and arrive. Melissa Vaas my design consultant provided a space for me to brainstorm ideas and offered guidance on how to really polish the idea into the gorgeous ring which fits perfectly on my fiancee's finger! I felt very comfortable taking different ideas for the ring to her and getting advice on how to make the ring even more elegant and truly express the essence of the design. My now fiancé worked with Elinor, one of Durham Rose’s designers, who was incredible throughout the whole process. She paid perfect attention to every detail and kept in close contact with my fiancé throughout the whole process! He also commented on how quickly the process was, from the initial meeting to him receiving the ring, it only took about a month. They also give you a book taking you through the design process of the ring, which is such a lovely touch! I am so looking forward to being able to sit down with your designers and my fiancé to create my wedding band, and see the amazing process for myself.

We could not rate Durham Rose enough.
We tried to find somewhere to design our ring and we were getting quotes without any image, or asked to pay for a design which we never felt comfortable with, but once we found DR, that was it.
Everything was amazing. The service, the detail, the quality. My ring is absolutely beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Gemma was so helpful throughout and kept us updated the whole way through. Even the packaging was beautiful. We could not recommend them enough.

My (now) fiancé and I met with Melissa for an online consultation in January 2021 in the middle of the 3rd lockdown in the UK.

We had been to Hatton Garden a few months prior to learn about diamonds and get an idea of market costs, which I would thoroughly recommend doing regardless of who/where you choose to design your ring.

I was initially a bit sceptical about designing and buying an engagement ring online, but on reflection I think this is the future of the industry, with Durham Rose leading the way.

Melissa is a warm, friendly and incredibly helpful professional, who made us feel incredibly at ease right from the off. She took the time to thoroughly understand the brief and us as individuals.

My girlfriend and I had an initial online consultation with Melissa, where we got to know each other and discussed early design concepts using previous designs that Melissa had done for inspiration and to understand the art of the possible.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly Melissa was able to build a design that we both loved. At that point Melissa and I scheduled another meeting to talk about the diamond.

This is where I felt like taking the time to learn a bit about diamonds really paid off. Durham Rose use 3rd party diamond dealers, so knowing what you can get for your money is key to the negotiating process.

Melissa acted as mediator during the negotiations on price and was always very quick to respond with any updates. Melissa really went the extra mile to get to the price that brought the project in on-budget.

From then on the process of assembling and paying for the ring was very smooth. Melissa even sent the ring back to the workshop to have a very small imperfection in the rose gold band polished out. Those small details really impressed upon me the lengths Durham Rose will go to ensure the best possible experience and product for their clients.

The ring took about 5 weeks to assemble after finalising the design and diamond and I proposed in May 2021. My fiancé absolutely loves the ring as do her family and friends. I was really impressed with the finished product too, which looked better than I could have ever hoped for.

I’d known for a long time that I wanted to design my partner’s engagement ring, but that was about it! Having seen a few styles online that appealed, I thought it would be great to create something bespoke from scratch, and so approached Durham Rose for an initial consultation.

Luckily Elinor was fantastic throughout the process! Not only was she extremely patient with me as I fumbled my way around ring terminology, but her ability to translate and improve upon my design ideas was first rate. What’s more is she was always very prompt in replying to my emails, as well as being flexible enough to work around my timeframe (quite hard to design a ring over Zoom during COVID whilst out of earshot!).

And I couldn’t be happier with how the ring turned out, so all in all I would wholeheartedly recommend Durham Rose to anyone.
